I paid in to the WNBA coffers this year for the first time, but also terminated my league passes out of frustration with W corporate and refs. This is a click bait title. No need for that. First time I've seen this happen so I hope it's the last because this is a channel that gives some level headed discussion. But as to any discussion on what this video is about. This is something that Screamin' A and others were talking about that the WNBA and the olympic selection people for the women's team should have considered. While when it came to just how each player was playing at the moment, Caitlin was better than Taurasi and should've been selected over her. But with the detractors to Caitlin being on the olympic team and their argument about how it should never be about promoting the game, those same people also complain about the pay levels. And they can't resist throwing in NBA pay. And they claim that they don't expect to make the same amount as the NBA, they just want a similar percentage. Well one major thing that allows the NBA to have the percentage pay is the amount of money that results from TV deals. And in order for the WNBA to increase their percentage pay for players, they have to achieve and excess level coming in. They don't have that. But what can get them moving in that direction is players like Caitlin Clark. Who causes people to attend games and watch on TV. They left out a player who they claim wouldn't have played that much, for a player who wasn't playing as well, who ultimately didn't play that much. Exchanging an outgoing player who is probably forgotten by Friday after playing her last game ever, for a player who could've further inched you forward towards the TV deals that would get the increased pay you've been complaining about in a league that has had declining views and interest since it's inception. None of these women get that you have to have large excess in order to get to revenue/profit sharing at large percentages.

This is a click bait title. No need for that. First time I've seen this happen so I hope it's the last because this is a channel that gives some level headed discussion.
But as to any discussion on what this video is about. This is something that Screamin' A and others were talking about that the WNBA and the olympic selection people for the women's team should have considered.
While when it came to just how each player was playing at the moment, Caitlin was better than Taurasi and should've been selected over her. But with the detractors to Caitlin being on the olympic team and their argument about how it should never be about promoting the game, those same people also complain about the pay levels.
And they can't resist throwing in NBA pay. And they claim that they don't expect to make the same amount as the NBA, they just want a similar percentage. Well one major thing that allows the NBA to have the percentage pay is the amount of money that results from TV deals.
And in order for the WNBA to increase their percentage pay for players, they have to achieve and excess level coming in. They don't have that. But what can get them moving in that direction is players like Caitlin Clark. Who causes people to attend games and watch on TV.
They left out a player who they claim wouldn't have played that much, for a player who wasn't playing as well, who ultimately didn't play that much. Exchanging an outgoing player who is probably forgotten by Friday after playing her last game ever, for a player who could've further inched you forward towards the TV deals that would get the increased pay you've been complaining about in a league that has had declining views and interest since it's inception.
None of these women get that you have to have large excess in order to get to revenue/profit sharing at large percentages.

The WNBA season is essentially 6 months , April through September, basically the summer months. So the salary money requires only half a year of work. Dont cry too loud.
Until the league is profitable, they cant get a cut of the anything, like the NBA does.
So, while its ok to complain about money, she has to include the time span of the WNBA season. So, when they are not playing ball, they have half of the year to get into sports broadcasting like Boston does for college sports, or sports wrting, open a sport related business, or play overseas, etc. Looks like a lot more options than most people have.
