this is the best movie i have ever watched. It is so real that i was shaking while watching it, the judgement seat was too hot for me, forgiveness was the only option i had after watching this, after struggling with it for so long, I hugged that one person I thought deserved nothing but misery. I had a different perspective totally. thank you,my life has changed and i am happy

The movie is great, I loved it all. But the 1 biggest thing that made me uncomfortable is that God and the Holy Spirit were represented by a woman. We call God, the Father, obviously we don't call God the Mother. Thats weird. So thats the only thing that bugged me the most
Nothing in the book and the film has anything to do with the God of the bible.
It's all opposite to the bible.
So I am wondering which God you all are talking about.
Jack White it has everything to do with god. God is forgiving and he leads and guides us on the path to love and healing. The father, son, and Holy Spirit are each represented in this film. So which god are you talking about.

It was a translation error from the word sheol. In nearly every passage, depending on which translation you read from, if the word hell is substituted for sheol then you will see contextually that it is referencing death or the grave. The movie represents Christian universalism, which is the most accurate Scripturally. In fact, there are over 1,200 passages in the Bible that declare the salvation of everyone, no exclusions. The doctrine of endless conscious torment for the majority of God's creation is a false doctrine, man-made, and unscriptural and rotten to the core. The symbolism of fire in the Bible also needs to be addressed. I've got a verse that I reckon most have never heard of, and most likely would not be favorable to traditionalists but we should all consider things from all different angles before ruling it all down to one answer. I believe this is not literal fire, but spiritual fire, symbolic of something greater that truly changes us without interfering with our free-will. Of course there are numerous other similar verses that clearly show that we will ALL eventually choose God willingly no matter what. "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." 1 Cor 3:15
