I have now received a great offer from a friendly RUclipsr. He is willing to make drawings of my Tiny Toolgrinder! So, if all goes well, a video will be released soon with drawings and some detailed information about the construction.
Highly impressive work. Third time watching this series, I have the plans and will build this, now planning my order of operations. The thing i find most impressive, is the level of finishing/deburring. Your dovetails for example appear to slide so smooth, yet i don't see much post processing on them. Mine slide as well as two pieces of sandpaper. They look and feel smooth, but they are not. I am at a point that i feel i can make most things. I need to work on taking that next step. Thanks for inspiring!
Use a very sharp dove tail cutter and finish with a light pass at a somewhat elevated rpm. Make sure your mill has no play. If this doesn't help, you could try to smoothen the surface with emery paper tightly folded around a triangular file. And, of course, use a lubricant.
@@Michel-Uphoff Thank you for the reply. I know the dovetail cutter is sharp, I have sharpened and used new. I will try the light pass at higher rpm. Mill is good with no play, a well maintained Bridgeport. I think the finishing pass will help, though. I did my final pass light, but never thought to raise the rpm. I defaulted to heavy elbow grease to get a good fit, but I would guess sometimes on how tight it would need to be for cleanup and spend hours sanding lol. Some good music and the time goes by. Thank you!

Great prototyping & "proof of concept" Michel, Well done!!
Looking forward to seeing the results from your upgraded & improved version.
Thank you!
It will take some weeks.
Maybe I'll make another video first.

Awesome design. Thanks for sharing every step of the way. I love making tools that make my life easier.
Good followup. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Brilliant design, grinding small drills is a pain for me to :) old eyesight and shaky hands 😁😁 I am looking forward to the next design.
This is excellent!! I’m putting this on my list of projects to make!
Thank you!
Please note that this is just a prototype, and the much more elaborate tiny tool grinder has been covered in detail in 6 later videos.
