“Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?” is in reference to the Cold War. Being bombed was a legitimate fear. This song has so many layers.

Not a patch on Bob Dylanns song Forever Young. Why has noone reacted to that?
The songs have completely different meanings and messages. The only thing they share is a title, they can't be compared. This song is about nuclear war and the Cold War.

It should. The song is about the Cold War, nuclear proliferation and the threat of us all being killed in a nuclear war. In other words, being made "forever young".
