I'm a big cast iron user, it's almost all I use. I bought a three piece set of Ozark Trail pans a few years ago and they work very well. I've almost bought this a couple different times for camping. I don't have a stove it'll work on at home though is the main reason I haven't. Plus when I cook a steak, I like to use a CI pan so I can toss in some mushrooms with a little onion and garlic, then add some butter, to dump over the steak.

I bought one for camping as well but use it mostly in the kitchen for now, also easy to clean and I use both burners on the stove on MED TO MED HIGH to cook, warming it up on high for faster heat up times. Also as a heat sheild from floor when camping using a gas heater. Mr. Heater or so. It does cook well for its price on both sides

I bought one of these griddles a few years ago and found the flat surface and factory seasoning was to course. I used a trim sander and sanded the factory seasoning off flat surface and smoothed it out just a little. I re-seasoned it and it is amazing now.

I really enjoy your videos. There is always something to learn from them and from all observations, you are a heck of a nice guy who I wouldn`t mind having a drink with and shooting the bull. Thanks for making these great videos.

Take a electric 3 inch orbital sander to the flat side. I did that with mine with 90 grit and it made a huge difference in cooking and non sticking.

My wife knits these little round scrubbers out of scrubby yarn, I love to use em on my cast iron pans. They work really nice.

I would use a belt sander on the griddle side with different grades of sandpaper to get a smooth surface. Then season at 500° F with vegetable oil, five times.

That was one great looking stake! Have you considered (re-)seasoning the griddle yourself?

The Noise, the Noise!! Scraping a steel spatula on cast iron! Pretty much all new cast iron needs stripped and sanded for hours to make a really slick surface. Then season w/ at least 6 layers of Flax Seed oil baked on. That finish needs to look like a black mirror. Eggs should be able to be worked w/a plastic or wood spatula with no or minimal sticking using just a little oil.

Very true I used a Orbital sander wand smoothed the griddle and seasoned. Super happy with the results

I've found out that with time of use and layers of seasoning eventually you knock down the high points and fill in the valleys. Mine looks very smooth after many uses after starting out quite notably rough.

Also never wash cast iron with soap ... Unless you want to reseason the iron 2 - 4 times to make it non stock again.

I don't like the emblem on the corner of the flat side! No reason for it and it makes it harder to clean.
