Todd. That is FREAKING cool. I sure wish I Lived closer to the west coast, then I could see your amazing collection of Harleys. We just don't seem to have a lot of this vintage in Ontario, the short riding season kept them all in the south Anyway a beautifull find none the less, keep these great vids coming,I love em!!
These lighted tips in this time era were made by a company called Nation Built. they are harder to find off a bike today then it is to find an original paint with them on it. The lighted Harley tips did not come out until the EVO era some 40 plus years later
All i can think about is getting on to a pre 65 stock full size prefered ,chopped maybe , harley , Are there any that would be easier to acheive because numbers made or a base model or the like and such
Damn that is a nice bike Todd very cool. Its funny how some things never change... As far as how many parts come in black but of coarse you can buy them in chrome at the dealer') but I kinda like that to a point because my 05 has a few pieces that I prefer stay black the rough part is the couple grand it cost to change the rest to chrome, but if you want the real deal you gotta pay...at least with HD you get what you pay for!
Absolutely beautiful fantastic bike. I have to ask, why do panheads have that sewing machine noise along with the exhaust? Shovelheads don't sound that way to me anyway.
Panheads and Generator Shovels along with all HD motor's with this type of design have more gears in the timing chest then 1970 up machines. This gears give it the sewing machine sound. If the gear lash is not properly installed, it creates a whining sound.
Thanks Todd, I always learn something here. I own a 59 and always wondered, most people say it sounds great but my shovel sounded better to me. Never too old to learn. I'm 71 all three of my bikes are kickers. I'm glad your back you have the best channel on RUclips Oh yeah them jerkoffs on AIM forum suck balls LOL

EVERYTHING stands out on this one. but you know the handgrips are very very cool....also, that color (considered a peacock blue, right?) is so perfect on this bike. what a score.
Your finds never sieze to amaze me ,So you plan on goin all the way w era accesseries, ive never seen a lit fender bib on that age , Became factory on the 70s FLH s right ?
My 49, which is not as nice as this, has front leg stamps on both sides. I saved your video as a reference on how stuff is suppost to look as I bring her back to sortacorrect.
Stupid, non-biker dude question: Is that a hand gearshift on the left? I'm not a Harley freak so forgive me! Years back, I did have one of those Harley 250 Sprint bikes made by Aeromacci(?) I think it was. Maybe I'm part of the brotherhood after all! Nah -- guess not. Great, great bike. That one is special. Love the all-original stuff.
Thanks !! Really nice scooter Todd it's a keeper !! I always love the information you throw in about the little things n history !!!!
Damn that bike runs so smooth....started up like a dream too...wow!

Clean pan very nice, Thanks Todd keep up the good work.
Absolutely beautiful bike; the serial number on my dad's is 49fl3846. The condition of it rivals yours. Once again an awesome bike.
all depends on where you live. Duo Glides tend to be easier to find and cheaper for similar condition. But not always
Bobber's and stock ones, each have their place:)
I didn't know AZ HAD a bike week! I know Love's Cycle just had their bobber run. I was in Florida that weekend at the AMCA national
this one is one of my favs!
this one is a keeper. Yep, that is an AZ Historic Motorcycle plate :)

The foot shift became an option on the big twins in 1952. 1979 was the 1st year foot shift was standard on all models, no exception.
Fantastic, history rocks!
very nice 49 I have an original 49 also, mine has the stainless battery / oil tank cover, FL 7***

hi Erik here from the Netherlands. Nice bikes you're showing all the time. pow
are there many left for sale in the states?
Most are out of the USA. most of those in Japan. Prices here for really nice old machines tend to be higher now then other countries
True classic! Built back in the day when the shareholders profits weren't the first priority. (not that they do that now of course)
the rear tip was by an era after market company called Nation Built. These came lighted like this one and non lighted.

What bike week is coming up? Daytona bike week is over with (not that I am close enough to bring a bike there)
That is the most desirable pan I have ever seen
bike is going down to the bar frame, keep watching and you will see it go back together

sweet looking bike
Were these bikes considered expensive, luxury items when they were new? Like a modern large Harley?
No, just something to ride
yep, gear shift off the tank on the left side
Fabulous bike
What year did Harley switch to a foot peg for shifting?
Beautiful!

1st I have heard of it. Can't go everywhere:(
Sorry Todd, but my favorite is still the '37 bobber you bought from Joe!
sweet. green bikes are rare.
HD was entirely privately owned at the time. No shareholders at all.
too much work, but I sure wish I could buy a lot more like this one!!
don't you wish you could keep them all ?

I can't believe the condition of the paint. Not a fan of the color, but nevertheless it was cared for properly
