I love solder connectors, but I made the mistake of using them in an engine compartment and the heat in there degraded the solder over time and it took me forever to figure out that was the reason my engine kept dying. Good crimp connectors are best in hot environments. Looks like a fun project!
Hi I'm new to the channel will you be doing more on the 1996 jet boat their is alot of people into those boats and RUclips lacks people fixing them so it's nice to see you are working on one.

I was thinking that too, but these are not in the engine compartment, so I think I should be OK. But you are right nothing beats a good crimp.

Yeah, as the weather gets a little nicer, we are going to keep working on it
Are the engines rotary or piston?
Piston
Did you get it to run?
I got it to turn over a little but I think the starters are bad. Gonna replace them next
And how fast can this boat go in the water
Like 45-50
It's likely those engine are full of oil. If these engines have never been rebuilt the crank seal will be leaking.
Ugh, fingers crossed
It’s so common with these. Mine leaks I just installed ball valve inline to keep the oil from dumping in when not in use
