Figured I should comment here too and ask what the translator himself/herself thinks of this song as far as the lyrics go? This was my favorite from Arche and I always on a personal level found the lyrics to be about depression and the shame what it brings you; not wanting to show it. So maybe the song is about getting over that fear, "opening that door" and showing it to whoever needs to see it. Then again that is a deeply personal perspective.. ( I am asking also because I really enjoyed your take on Kasumi)
Unlike with Kasumi there might not be a linear story here, but sentiment wise I agree with you. It might be about depression, it might also be about the wounds we all inevitably carry with us as we go through life in a general sense. Being unable to fully hide these wounds, but turning them into wisdom or at least something you decide to show without fear, as you said (hence "telling your story with a wide smile"). The last part ("The wishes that fall and pile up - So beautiful when they scatter - No one cares to look - At these bouquets of flowers") might be about how unfulfilled wishes (or hopes) aren't recognized as much more than single insignificant petals, if they don't go fully unnoticed even. But actually what these petals become once they pile up, once you look at the big picture, are entire bouquets of flowers. They're also mentioned earlier in the song as decorating the streets. That's just some random personal thoughts without having read any interviews about this song though! It's my favorite song from the album as well. :)
I've always interpreted the last line as something like "No one tries to see the future the bouquet of flowers looked at" because of the が after 花束 (as opposed to を or は which would be unquestionable). But haven't found any translation along those lines, so I guess I'm the one failing to untangle the Japanese correctly here.
