- Last night saw Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Keir Starmer go head-to-head in their first General Election live debate. It was a tense debate and viewers even called out the two political rivals on interrupting each other causing Julie Etchinhgham to intervene and even give the pair a telling off in the ad break! So, what did the panel make of the whole debacle? Christine thinks their debate showed the necessary passion from the political leaders, whereas Sarah couldn’t bear the bickering and had to switch off!

Too American? Have you heard the shouting and heckling that goes on in Parliament? America doesn’t own rude behavior, it fairly universal.
Yeah but the UK debates have never been like this. She's def thinking about Trump
@@boulevard14American debates also weren’t like this until Trump.
I’ve seen so many instances in every day life, not just on television, where people talk over others constantly, regardless of whether or not they are frustrated and/or angry. People aren’t interested in listening anymore, but rather, insist on being heard. The levels of selfishness, incivility and disrespect are off the charts.
This is basically irrelevent because the country is going to be doomed whatever happens. Nobody has a backbone anymore
England follows America,Ireland follows England we are all Finished 😮
Would like to hear more about people developing their confidence and finding their voice.
Cancer and other diseases can be caused by stress…it’s important we openly discuss this subject in more depth.
I think Christine is misquoting QE II . Can you picture Miss Betty saying “You are enough. Your voice should be heard.”? I can’t. I suspect it would have been more along the lines of “That’s quite enough. One should be seen and not heard.”😂❤👑
She's paraphrasing and what makes you think the queen was incapable of saying to a woman that her voice is important to show to the world?
I bet Sarah has done a bit of embellishing on that!
Lol can u let Brenda talk 😂😂
It happens constantly, if she’s lucky they let her get in two words at the very end
Have a day off just like the moderator this lot acting like both were interrupting when the reality was it was basically sunak doing the interrupting 🙄
Yes, he was much worse than Starmer. I can’t stand either of them. Reform for me!
It doesn’t matter if we get Sunak or Starmer. Either way our country is doomed
Interrupting is such bad tv but I think the program directors encourage it !!!!
The lady should have helped Starmer to get his points across. Starmer worked hard to prepare his points but couldn't say it properly, because Sunak was much better at making his points. Starmer should get another go.
Do you know how many people Starmer kicked out of his own party for opposing him? Decent, honorable people. Tens of thousands of them. And you expect this spineless snivelling man to be given a second chance because he is too weak to defend himself?
I think Sarah Ferguso. Is very loyal and genuinely a mice warm person.
Strange, they went from talking about the debate to then firing straight in to talking about the queen which was totally irrelevant to the conversation.
Yes I totally understand you but so many people I have met think the Queen's passing was one of the great tragedies for this country in so many ways.
Hmm 🤔 Went straight from the debate to the being the perfect Sarah Ferguson
@@boulevard14 and not funny either...she's so full of herself
Sarah probably suggested they discuss the queen 🤣
Careful what you wish for!
Sunak asked questions to which the other party couldn't reply, that's the reason he won the debate inspite such anti incumbency
TRUE STATEMENT. . MORE AMERICAN.
Nigel is our choice following this debate
Starmer can ask questions at every PMQs sunak can only answer so it gives him a chance in the debate to turn it around a bit if it hadn't been for sunak i would have fallen asleep starmer is so slow
I don't think Sunak was out of order - he just demanded proper answers when Starmer gave dodgy replies or tried to change the subject. _'We will not give them 35% we will get in a room and sort it'_ Like the only thing the Tories have been doing wrong not holding meetings in a room....
@Iazzaboyce I said a while back starmer is OK at asking questions like PMQ he's a lawyer but he is useless in answering them sunak came out on top in my opinion.
@@snowyowel7961 I think everyone believes Starmer lost big time - mainly because he appeared weak. The media are doing their best to put damage limitation spin on it.
Hope Brits know that Americans are going through the same mess with our country falling apart and two bad candidates (one a felon) to choose from… at least we’re all in this disaster together. Love, from across the pond.
I’m sorry to say but I think your two candidates are both dreadful - for different reasons. They make Starmer and Sunak appear absolutely brilliant - which they most certainly are not and thus why I voted Reform UK. Good luck USA, you’re going to need it!
@@josimpson7999 They are. No lies told.
shouldn't be so interested in politician personality
Stick to Corrie love 😂
Thank god I left the uk in 1988
Where did you emigrate to?
@@bigal6118 Australia
a lot of freedom down there and space good weather etc but still dealing with ignorance over there
I’d much sooner be in the UK than Oz - and yes, I have been.
Sunak very rude man like his party
They are both rude and unnecessary
The interrupting isn't American. It's Trumpish.
Playground .
