That’s awesome! I might do a follow up of all my favorite stuff from the series at some point this year. Anything you’ve tried that stands out as something you’ve really liked?
We use those mountain trapper 0 degree bags when tent camping. Very comfy and warm. We have been camping in the low 20's and 30's and have stayed warm with no supplemental heat. Love em.
Thanks awesome. I think I might get on of those or the XL one to fill the gap I have with my sleeping bags. I have a -30, a 20 and a 30 I think 0 would be a good middle ground one for spring/fall.
I have the Mountain Trapper 0 degree. It's very comfortable. If you're like me and you don't like the feel of the mummy bags the lining of this bag if very comfortable and it's durable. I spent last deer season in Michigan's upper Peninsula sleeping in that bag in the Alaknak Tent with wood stove. The stove would go out at night and the temps got down to 20 degrees F and it was nice and cozy.
That’s great to hear that worked out for you. I may have to do a video with the bag. I have been hearing more and more about the upper peninsula lately. Seems like something h should check out.
@@OXFOOT I highly recommend it but only if you like sparsely populated areas with little cellular reception, lots of public land, seemingly endless fishing, kayaking, canoeing, camping, hiking, mountain biking, and hunting opportunities. Oh and over 150 waterfalls to explore. I love it so much I bought 40 acres of it.
Good stuff buddy! I’ll definitely be picking your brain when I outfit the liberty… oh, maybe a best of the budget options from all over video 😉. Hopefully no one sees this comment since people are studying your vids 🤣
Oh I blocked the purple haired guy from seeing my videos since he was eying it a little too close. But yeah I have a lot of plans for these style videos coming up. A lot of it hinges on the success of the next two videos.
I have some ones I’ve looked at many times. I’ll get back to you once I find something. I’ve heard great things about the PETT (portable environment toilet) but I can’t say that I necessarily have first hand experience with it.
But if you want to keep it cheap the reliance bucket one seems like a super popular one on the budget side. Hard to say with that one though. I know tons of people with the PETT one that even bring it for their wives, but again the bucket one I see everywhere online even though I’ve never seen it in person.
Great video man, I love this series. I'm going to grab some of those chairs this weekend, what a deal! Any plans for other places? I feel like Costco may have some good stuff
I can't agree more on the rectangle shape for a sleeping bag, so much more comfortable and we used a Kelty tent for years with the kids so agree they are good for the money. Great idea for a series.
Think I prefer the triangle grip shovel. Can bend the grip to the 90°, stick the blade all the way into the dirt, and bam now you have a little stool to sit on
Awesome video, very good info! Have you looked at Jax? I've been stocking up on some overlanding stuff from there and their prices on some things are a little bit lower than Cabela's. Might be a place for another one of these videos. They have friggin everything there.
@@OXFOOT Yeah, there's one in Lafeyette, Broomfield, Loveland, Ft. Collins. Not sure which end of the state you live in, but I'm sure you can find one close by. There are actually 2 types. Jax Farm and Ranch, and Jax Outdoors. The one in Broomfield has them combined into one giant store. The one in Lafayette is split into 2 stores across the street from each other. Both have awesome stuff.
@oxfoot, thx for bringing us your Cabelas overland camping gear video, Cabelas/bass pro shop are great stores, used bass pro products while living in California for fishing 🎣now I use Cabelas for shooting, keep doing what your doing brah 👌 stay safe and safe travels
Thanks so much! Appreciate the support. I wanted to mention shooting related stuff but I really gotta stay within RUclips’s little box so they don’t age restrict the video.
The Cabela's branded sleeping bags are fantastic! I have a few of them and they're really stout. There is also the Rogue Expedition branded sleeping bags which seem to be priced a bit cheaper but pretty good all the same.
I would love to see a review on cots. I have old REI army style cots. They’re so big and heavy. I would love a cot that is light, fold up compact, quick setup/tear down, and maybe even comes with a pad.
I’ll look into it and make sure it’s in the budget and if so I can do a review on it. Just spent $300 on another video and hopefully I make that back on it ha.
Yeah my new one is rechargeable but I had the battery ones for many years. The tech certainly has gotten better over the years but if yours isn’t broken there’s no reason to upgrade in my opinion.
For sure, it’s more meant to be shown as what they offer here and there so you can see what’s out there. Not really much you can do about buying it all at once outside if buying everything in wish or alibaba.
You like it? Does it feel spacious enough for you? I always sort of wondered about the wheel wells and how much space you actually still have after that.
I don't associate Camel as with meeting budgets. Most everything there is at inflated prices to pay for the building. It is a great place to visit though but it will eat a budget up pretty fast.
@@OXFOOT I have a tundra (7 years now) as my daily and I want to get rid of it as soon as I can to get back into a 4runner. It's just too damn big and exhausting to deal with. Thanks for the reply. I like trucks but I think the 4runner is the best of all compromises for me.
Yeah for me I don’t think I would. I owned one for like a week once back in college and it just was not my thing. I was more into the backpacking thing back then which is a benefit that you can go light with a mummy. The mummy has less dead space so in theory it’s easier to get one that can go in lower temps in a smaller package. My suv is my backpack now so I don’t care about having a small bag.
Cabela's used to have great gear, but when they were bought out by Bass Pro's, Bass Pro substituted Bass Pro crap for Cabela's good stuff, I'll never buy from Cabelas again
I wish I had any connection with that company. Every company I’ve done with this series I have no connection with. Wish I could have at least gotten some gift cards lol.

Do they have Cabela’s or Bass Pro Shop where you live?
Both I think
2 hrs from me if that counts 🫠
We have cabelas in Idaho
yea, i go to the same cabelas
Love this series. Such a good idea. Keep it up man!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. CABELLAS AND BASS PRO SHOPS HAS EVERYTHING FOR OVERLANDING!!!!
For lighting, I use miliwakuee laterns and keep extra batteries the m12 platform and m18 laterns are a great choice for overlanding
I’m rewatching your series as I outfit the camper… I think it might be time for a 2023 update video 😉
Yeah I was just about to do an amazon one and then revisit the harbor freight one lol.
Great series been buying stuff that you have recommended in all the videos you’ve done
Thanks so Much

Good stuff! I’ll have to check those places now thought didn’t even cross my mind
Yeah I always forget it has stuff that isn’t g*Bs and fishing stuff. It’s actually just like REI but a little cheaper.
What would you recommend for going to the bathroom to sit and think about stuff or to read a while? 🤔

Costco is for sure on the list. Hoping to get started on this pretty soon.
I have the cabelas 0 degree.. Its great. Never been cold while using it. And love the leg room...
Yeah that’s the one I’m actually considering now for my main bag. I have a 20 a 30 and a -30 but I feel like the 0 would be the perfect in between.
In summer it might be a bit much but for fall, spring and high altitude camping ir would be ideal.
Those are great deals on 0º bags! And they don't look the size of small mattress like your -30º bag! haha
PS. Really great, informative video! You've really streamlined these videos, keep them coming!

Very good video dude. I've got a kelty cosmic 20 that I've been using for the last year and it's a good bag.

I can't agree more on the rectangle shape for a sleeping bag, so much more comfortable and we used a Kelty tent for years with the kids so agree they are good for the money. Great idea for a series.
Yeah the rectangle bags are the only way to go for me. If I was a back packed maybe I’d go the mummy route but it’s just too constricting for me.
And awesome! Glad you like that tent. Everyone who had it seemed to praise it.
I guess I'm a snob. I have both, mummy for hiking and square for overlanding
Yeah, have to rectangle or blanket. Not a fan of having my feet closed in a bag. Too hot.

They did have them where I was but not really near the spots I frequented.
This is cabelas yyc isn’t it?
Location? It’s the like Thornton Colorado one.
The purpose of a mummy bag is warmth. Not weight.
Yes, warmth at a lower weight. You can achieve just as much warmth with a non mummy as long as it’s super thick which causes it to be huge.
Wait what tf, budget & cabelas don’t go together.
Geez those pocket stove tops are like 20$ on Amazon if that. Lol
Sure I have one that was cheap. It’s not nearly as good as the jet boil or MSR but it does the job most of the time.

Wal-Mart and Big5 have some of those brands for less.
For sure. Walmart has some pretty cheap stuff. Did one of these videos on them almost a year ago.
If you're a spokesman for cabelas how about telling them to refund my money for the order I made 6 days ago for items thats out of stock.
