    We have the option as a patient to choose someone who we feel comfortable with, after all we are the ones giving the dentists business let alone referrals to our family and friends, etc! Now some people just don’t care and just do what they have to do. And others take it more personal and are more sensitive. Need more reassurance, need details, need time to take in what needs to get done and not just a transaction, like here you are losing your teeth and you need dentures. It’s horrifying at first and we need to mentally prepare for what is needed. And I feel if I’m not comfortable with the dentist or I feel something is off, I trust my instinct. Because it’s the dentist job to make sure the patient is comfortable and if maybe the connection is not there, if you don’t feel it then you have to find someone who you’re comfortable with. I always look at reviews, and make sure they are good, but just because they are good maybe we don’t connect, I will look and find someone else. You have to feel that you can confide in your dentist 100%! Just like it is when it comes to your primary doctor, etc. there is always someone out there for everyone. And yes dentists may be educated but they aren’t educated to patients feelings. And they will never understand what the patient is going through because they have great teeth. Sorry for the long comment but I can go on and on. But yes get second or third opinions if needed. If I don’t feel the connection, or comfortability I’m out! And I think many people are like me, and sometimes you avoids the dentists for a long time and then things get even worse. If only dental insurance was cheaper or part of health plan, many people wouldn’t wait because they will be able to maintain their checkups and avoid future problems/dentures. Thanks for your videos. You truly are an inspiration. If you can do it, it gives people like us hope! 👍

    Greetings! I am currently trying to get an appointment with a different dentist, because I wasn't at all comfortable with the first one I went to. We just didn't connect at all. Now if I can just handle the pain and discomfort until I can get the appointment! I'm trying to make smoothies with varying success. Thank you so much for sharing your journey! Love and blessings ♥️🙏

    OMGoodness Kaylin ... She is BEAUTIFUL!!! Do she have an office in Jacksonville? I need help desperately. I live in southeast Ga. And I haven't left my home in over a year when I came down with a blood disorder that depleted all the iron and calcium from my body and then caused my teeth to start breaking off at the gums. I would love to talk with the Dr to see if she can help me. Thank you for what you do you are an amazing soul.

    Before ever even having a dentist tell me I need to have an immediate denture procedure I had buried both of my parents with all of their teeth in place. Neither of my parents ever even had a partial. I had not been to a dentist in about 7 years because I never had a problem with my teeth. I broke a tooth on a frozen kiss in such a way that breathing hurt it, I believe a nerve exposed. I had to call multiple dental clinics to find one that would see me. I just did what the dentist said I needed to do & all of a sudden I had a denture that did not fit at all. I didn't get a 2nd opinion & I found you afterwards. I believe now though that if you have never had dental issues at all & a dentist wants to give you an immediate denture you should definitely get a 2nd opinion. I now have white coat syndrom bad, I don't trust what doctors say & I don't do what doctors say anymore.

      You broke one tooth and ended up with a denture?

    • @annramsey7907
      @annramsey7907 2 года назад

      @@AlyTennyson yes I did. And because I was able to eat anything with no problems with my teeth the denture was not an improvement to me it was a hindrance & I had a lot of trouble, a whole mess of trouble. And a dentist who wouldn't help wouldn't even give me a reline as I know now should have been done. There are some very unethical big dental corporations who are interested in money not the patient. I now know I should have been given a root canal, a cap & good cleaning. I am better educated now & it will never happen to me again.

      @@annramsey7907 I can relate to an extent about losing teeth due to ignorance of not getting a 2nd opinion but for me, the problem kinda extends deeper because of ignorant neglect I had as a kid and teenager I could be looking at losing all my molars and fang teeth, scary stuff to go through at a much younger age I'll try to prolong it for as long as I can but it'll be financially challenging, from the price of a dental implant to the replacement fillings/crowns I'll need in the future, stressful stuff to go through in America

      @@tysonking9582 There's a big difference in losing bad teeth vs losing healthy teeth because of profit motive & nothing else. I tell my story because I was never able to get anything done about the way I was treated. 2 weeks after the extraction I went in because the pink part was so tall it pushed my lip into my nose. They said they couldn't help me & come back in 6 weeks. I used my Dremel to file the pink part down so I could glue it in. It was huge & wobbly & like trying to learn to eat with a teeter totter in my mouth. I went in for my 6 weeks appointment and they could not help me any more because I had used a Dremel on what they said was my final denture. They escorted me out of the building. What I am saying is not that people shouldn't get the dental care they need, be careful of the high priced options that involve teeth that are healthy in the first place. Get several opinions & several treatment options pick what feels right to you. What makes common sense to you. If you have neglected your teeth & they are causing you pain you need to do something or your oral health will affect your heart health. All I am saying is don't lose all your teeth over 1 bad tooth because of an unscrupulous & unethical dentist.

      @@annramsey7907 you're right it's not as bad but our ignorance is what lead us here in the first place, I like that you're trying to warn others, your story is similar to another woman on this video called "reported problems with dental implants" except she paid way more for shoddy work, 30k for implants supported dentures and can't even use them properly because it causes her a lot of pain, it seems that dental fraud is more common than we think

    I had my E-day on 06/20/22 with immediate dentures but mine were made bigger to accommodate swolleness (which I didn't have) as per my dentist but they are way too big and I'm not sure if this is normal, the bottom one is so big it moves so much I can't speak or eat well at all. I'm not sure if should ask for new set or should I get a second opinion regarding how my dentures were made. The bottom was relined the day after surgery and they still are too big causing pain. The top was done on the second appointment but now they're off line, teeth shifted to the left and was told that's what happens and they look bulky and weird making me not want to wear them because my lips won't close and you can see how off center they are. I and so sad and disheartened. Praying that it gets better and I get the help I need from my dentist. Thank you for your videos they've been of such help and guidance to me.
