Chiquita Lake is so beautiful! We hiked to Ypsilon Lake on October 1st. The clouds were hugging the mountains so it wasn't as pretty of a day as you and your mom had. Thanks for sharing all your adventures with us!!!

Thanks Will! I love the Lawn Lake Trailhead. Never too busy in the morning and lots of cool lakes. Next year Im gonna do Fay Lakes and maybe Crystal Lake. They should be good! Hopefully see ya out there.
Went up there on 8/15/2021. The flow from Spectacle Lakes looked a bit too strong , so went to Chiquita Lake instead. Not saying Chiquita Lake is second best. Great fun doing some route finding without too much spicyness. The stretch in between Ypsilon and Chiquita has some of the finest wildflower displays that Iv'e seen in the park. Awesome hike to avoid crowds in peak season.
In June 1977 we hiked up toy-Ypsilon lake. Stopped by deep snowdrifts
1977 was a good year! I bet the snow gets deep up there. Beautiful area!
Great video. Have you gone up Ypsilon mountain? I've been twice, a really beautiful hike.
Yes. We did it last year I believe. Then I also got a video where it was included in the CCY hike. Then once more when I went around it and over to Fairchild in the Mummy Mania hike. I think Ypsilon is one of the most awesome mountains in the park.
What kind of GPS do you carry ? And have you used any of the hiking watches . Hows the split in that trail to goto spectacle?
Its a Garmin Explorer Plus. Ive never used a watch but my dad has one. Its like a tiny version of my big GPS.. The split up to Spectacle is not bad except for the class 4 slab or waterfall. You have to choose one. I absolutely destroyed my knee falling down the slab. But I did it again in 2019 I believe and went up the waterfall. I think its easier. I did a video for it.
