@tandem diabetes Is there a similar video but for the Control IQ software? The settings are in slightly different places in the control IQ user interface.
Hey Kelly, you can learn more about Personal Profiles for the Control-IQ software on page 70 of the User Guide. You can access a digital version of the User Guide here: www.tandemdiabetes.com/docs/default-source/product-documents/t-slim-x2-insulin-pump/legacy/aw-1004379_d_user-guide-tslim-x2-control-iq-7-3-mgdl-artwork-web.pdf?Status=Temp&sfvrsn=72221fd7_4
How does the control iq calculation work? Although my control iq works pretty well. Sometimes it sends me low with a ton of extra units on board and I have to down like two bottles of soda to even get back to normal.
Hi Ryan, Control-IQ technology uses CGM data to predict highs and lows independently from the high and low CGM thresholds you’ve set in your preferences. Even if you do not have a high CGM threshold set, Control-IQ technology will set up a treatment range. We would like our Technical Support Team to look into this for you, can you please reach out to them at (877) 801-6901
Did you figure it out? I am going to get a pump myself in the next few weeks. I am really worried about the same thing happening, I spike even after a bolus, but my sugars normalize within 2hrs regardless, I am worried it will correct me on top of a bolus unnecessarily as a result.
Great question! The t:slim X2 remembers how much insulin your pump has delivered from boluses. It does this by relying on the insulin duration. The insulin duration reflects the amount of time that insulin is in your body and actively lowering your BG.
@tandemdiabetes Oh, I do not have an insulin pump. My doctor thinks that I should get it now. I'm just doing research. To me, set up is a little complicated considering I would never have known all that profile information. Anyway. All the numbers I wanna know are my blood sugar number and how much insulin gives. I don't care about the carbs. I don't care about the other number because I won't be able to track those numbers anyway. And besides, those numbers change very frequently. That's why I hope this will be more automated. With a little bit of assistance from AI.
I ask: how do you do in the tandem carbohydrate change, but only for 8 am and 6 pm ?. My doc doesn't know, and I've only been on the insulin pump for a short time. If you can tell me, I appreciate it.
Hi Melissa. Great question! Tandem is usually able to secure coverage for our pumps from the majority of insurance plans either through direct contracts or through our network of distributors. Our team of insurance verification specialist can help figure out what the cost would be for you if you submit our online form (ow.ly/Inoi30h2yNW) or call 1-877-801-6901.
Hi Sarah. We encourage you to reach out to your healthcare provider directly about this. They will be able to provide suggestions for settings that will work best for you.
Hi Mohamed. Thank you for your question. The language setting is dependent on region of use. May be set to English, Czech, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish, or Swedish (default is English).

i have a question about setting up the dexcom g6 on the pump. Whenever we put in the transmitter and the sensor code will we have to calibrate? If we do have to calibrate will we get blood sugar readings during those 24 hrs or no ?
I’m glad you loved it. I’ve actually only been diagnosed for 11 months. it makes 1 yr on the 23rd and I just got the pump and I go to training soon. I’m so excited to just set it up and everything
Living Life With Shayla I got diagnosed in 2nd grade and I was in the hospital for a week. It’s pretty simple to use. I would always lose my monitor, but I never lose the device because it’s all in one :)
Hi Bob, each profile needs to be filled with a full 24 hours of your preferred settings. It doesn't automatically jump from profile to profile. If you need assistance in setting up your personal profiles, please reach out to us at (877) 801-690.
Thanks for your feedback here, Cody. We'll share this with our internal Teams for consideration. In the meantime, you can slow down the video by going into settings, and then selecting playback speed. Hope this helps.
We appreciate your feedback. You are able to mute the video while watching it as it does have subtitles. We also recommend changing the playback speed in the video settings.

What does insulin duration mean? Does that mean if you eat a meal and take a Bolus, the insulin will be slowly dispensed over that whole time?
Great question! The t:slim X2 remembers how much insulin your pump has delivered from boluses. It does this by relying on the insulin duration. The insulin duration reflects the amount of time that insulin is in your body and actively lowering your BG.
Honestly I hope this is more automated. Because i would not know any of this information. Considering I'm using the dexcom G7.

You just have to wait until the circle is fully green. Then, a blood sugar will appear. That’s all! :) *You don’t have to check your blood sugar*
Thank you so much!!
Living Life With Shayla You’re welcome! I had the G5. You don’t have to check your blood sugar at all. It’s a completely new concept and I love it :)
