When Davey said: "Imagine a tuner that says 'you can't synchro summon'", I thought of a Blackwing tuner that can't be used for a synchro while it's on the field. Thank you, Vayu the Emblem of Honor, for being weird during the 5D's era.

To this day I have never figured out why they thought Gem-Elephant would 'fit' into Gem-Knight
Bruh. There are WAY worse HERO cards than Electrum. Hell, Electrum was actually used for an old FTK. You know what the ACTUAL worst HERO card is? Poison Rose. It's a non-Normal Summon-able Monster (Which even if you could Normal Summon it, why would you? It's level 6. Eww!) that must be Special Summoned via a specific Spell card. A Spell card that requires you to tribute a specific (mediocre) Monster in order to get it out from hand or deck. And what do you get for all that trouble? A 1900 beater that gains 200 ATK each time it inflicts battle damage. You can't even ROTA for the tribute monster cuz it's a Plant instead of a Warrior. IT'S SO BAD!
It's also 6-star, so DEFINITIVELY no ROTA

Roisen Thorn has nothing cool that could be done with it.
It’s earth, so it could only be used for Dian, which is uninteresting or the earth omni Hero. Which isn’t the worst but it’s underwhelming

Rouge Of Endymion is somehow worse than the Endymion gemini monster, and that's hard to do
The gemini monster was used in Light Beatdown along with Neo Alius.
I think picking electrum out of all the bad hero isn't fair considering it was actually in an otk/ftk strategy with Gustav Max that did actually top back in 2013.
I don't think Electrum is really fitting for this list
He was involved in a 2 card combo that enabled infinite fusion summons with the deck as your resource pool. It was played quite a bit back in the day as sort of a troll OTK strat with hour long combo strings to burn your opponent to death.
Here's how the infinite summon combo is setup if you're curious.
There's a trap card called Chain Material that lets you fusion summon using materials from your hand, graveyard, and or deck but all the fusions die during the end phase. When combo'd with fusion gate you could basically fusion summon infinitely from your deck and extend your combo by summoning Electrum to put all your banished materials into the deck to continue fusion summoning.
It stopped seeing play because you have to have chain material set for a turn so you can have it playable with fusion gate and the game's just too fast for that now (albeit traptrick could make it more consistent to pull of).
Regardless the fact he saw play in general should be enough to replace him with one of the dozens of Hero fusions that never saw play.
I agree that Malacoda is not good in BA. But I do like it aesthetically, so I would like to see new support to make it better as it's own alternate playstyle of BA.

Evilswarms were a sub archetype of steel swarm that was based off of tribute summoning that's why they have that awkward level 6
Cyber barrier is amazing though, think about it, summon core, machine dupe into two more, then set all three attack reflector unit, use all three of them, use their effects or big booties to survive, and then next turn summon infinity, AMAZING PLAY

There...now the effect is at least interesting. It's still a pain to summon, but it shuts down Sphere Mode, Nibiru, Kaijus, and Lava Golem...and if it survives on the field, you can gain value in addition to potential tempo.
Clicked on this video thinking "i wonder which card hes gonna choose in Red-eyes deck" then i remembered that i love a crappy deck and the title says GOOD decks.....
@@noahstrube1027 considering that you can make a deck easily enough to get two and the field, effectively locking the opponent from being able to destroy any of your red eyes monsters on the board, id say hes not the worst, the worst in my opinion would actually be retro dragon, since lets be honest, needing your opponent to literally clear your board so you can use it is kinda trash, it would be great recovery if it was tweaked a little but as its stands id never run it on a deck, and God knows how much ive tried to make it work.
some of the e-hero fusions might have been more viable if they did not have summon restrictions. mudball man has no effect, and "electrum" did not need a fusion summon condition for its shuffling effect.

As al Altergeist Player, I'll say Fifinellag because the Synchro is generic... so much that you'll ask yourself why the tuner has a crappy on field effect to "Protect" your other altergeist, no attack point and no way to extend comos that makes cards like pixie or camouflage look better in comparison.
Well Madolches have a ton of them. Chicolates, Chouxvalier, most of the traps that arent Nights or Promenade, Marmelmaid, Butlerusk, etc etc

Electrum *was* used to drop Helios - Trice Magistus to 0 ATK in the Anime. Jaden was getting boned by Macro Cosmos shenanigans and pulled it out of his butt.
It was in a dumb OTK with Blaze Fenix, too. It was basically using Fusion Gate and Chain Material to solan Blaze Fenix, make Electrum to get your materials back into your deck and repeat. And make Gustav Max for more burn than the Blaze Fenix on its own
with curse of the shadow prison back when it came out super poly was forbidden so back then there were a few people who used it
So Elemental HERO Electrum actually has a janky niche use. Since it returns all banished monsters when fusion summoned you can infinite recycle resources if set up right. To do that you use it a burn OTK deck with Blaze Fenix the Burning Bombarbment Bird, Fuison Gate, Chain Material and UFOroid fighter to burn your opponent to death in a single turn. Its best use makes you no friends at locals.

Five-Rainbow Magician was only used once in the anime. During an Action Duel. Also, 1-4 set spell/traps meant you still had 0 atk, but 5 meant double atk.
TheWowza48 five rainbow was viable when justiciar was legal because it was a level 1 harmo target

Nr 2 Genex Controller. A lvl 3 vanilla Tuner.
It’s played, to this day, in almost every water strategy (merlanteans, crystrons usw) simply because another monster mills a water to search it.
Nr 1 Gem-Knight Garnet. It does nothing and only saw play because it’s the best Brilliant Fusion target

I agree based on the effect, but disagree based on the fact that it's another name for Judgement Dragon or the Lightrays.
Yeah, Electrum is NOT the worst Hero monster. I mean, he was part of that absolutely magnificent Blaze Fenix FTK, and all you had to do was activate Fusion Gate and Chain Material...and Temple of the Kings...and play like 12 bricks...yeah, it was never really good, but it existed. I would say Elemental Hero Steam Healer was a much worse card, because Normal Summoning Stratos gives you the exact same amount of ATK for so much less.
but he requires a lot less to make. 4 specific monsters is a huge cost for nothing. That counts very heavy against a card when a player decides what to play. The MIGHT play Healer if its materials interact with a spell well or if its level/attribute matter, since its only 2 material it's at least summonable. the other thing will never hit the board outside a fucking gimmick deck meant to make it.
I feel like Five Rainbow Magician is supposed to be the only Pendulum scale you have with 4 face-downs to power up every one of your monsters. It’s not good, but it can TECHNICALLY be used that way.
Another card fit for the list: D/D/D Dragon King Pendragon. Requires a Dragon-type monster (in an archetype of entirely Fiend-types) to summon itself from hand. Its on-field effect is a discard for a shitty MST.
If you really need a Level 7 D/D/D, just run Leonidas.

Blade Blaster is a combo tool to get to the lvl 12 boss monster of T.G. Because it's easier to keep on the board then the 2 level 5s you used to make it. Until you can put Recipro Dragonfly on board to break it down for it's materials. Then go for Halberd Cannon.
Blade blasters eff to negate any spell or trap that targets it does send to grave after being negated regardless of it being continuous or a field spell unless the continuous or field spell or trap was already face up before it’s eff was used, like dark magical circle, it would target but it has to be face up to use that banish eff and if blade blaster negates it would stay on field, but any continuous spell or trap that targets on activation would go to grave when negated as the whole card is being negated then
5 rainbow has uses though. It’s a level 1 target for harmo which can come up
The most interesting thing about malacoda was that they made it into ghost rare over the cover card to make a tcg-exclusive ghost rare. Why they did this when the cover card was clearly better no one knows.
One thing I would say in Emerald Eagle's defense: Did you look at its Ritual Spell?

-Can recycle the GY instead of wasting resources by controlling a Link Monster
-Can cheat Eagle out of your hand if your opponent pops it to set up the Reincarnation Ritual Summon effect
-Generic for any other Salamangreat Rituals they ever make, but lists Emerald Eagle by name, making Pre-Prep a legal play
So yeah, it's still kinda bad, but not _quite_ as bad as you were letting on.
I haven't played salads in awhile but last time I checked you want your stuff in the gy so you can pick it back up with wolf. Sooooo no it is really bad. Also making a lvl 8 ritual means you have to shuffle in at least 2 monsters that you would want in the gy or 3 that were probably gonna do something in the gy.
@@yugimumoto1 Best case scenario I can think of for it is reloading a Violet Chimera. It _would_ cover the whole cost by itself, at least.
But yeah, like I said, it is still bad, just...maybe should have been lower on the list. 6-7 seems about right.
@@WillRennar no I think it was at the right spot. It's a ritual monster with its only use is really due to the spell and tbh, that's not really something the card itself does.

in the case of electrum fusion gate and chain material sends their regards with these two cards in a chain you could fusion summon monsters using materials from your deck via banishing the materials doing this you can get three electrum's and some rainbow neo's to xyz cannon dreadnaught and then spamming the burn effect for 6000 lp damage a turn
Malacoda makes sense to me tbh. Burning Abyss is a deck with all the special summoning mechanics (except pendulums, because fuck pendulums.), so having a Ritual isn't out of place.
I actually kinda like T.G. Blade Blaster's 2nd effect. Not for the monster itself, or the T.G. deck. Rather, I imagine a hypothetical deck that gives this effect to a few monsters, and then all its monsters have on-banish effects. Including itself. Thereby turning that effect into: "Dodge an opponent's effect, and then trigger 2 of your monsters' effects." Seems fun.
In defense of Rainbow magician: I ran it as a piece of disruption in my Altergeist Deck. Combed with Secret Village of spellcasters, it became harder to get rid of

Over half of the *Hieratic* Archetype isn’t played because Konami originally intended the deck to be a grindy resource management strategy. It had uh... a slightly different playstyle that materialized.

I think you are sleeping on Medallion of the Ice Barrier; "Add 1 Ice Barrier Monster from the Deck to the Hand". That's it, no level restriction, no type restriction and also you can use your 3 copies on a single turn if you so desire.

Elemental HERO Electrum was used in a FTK with Chain Material and Fusion Gate way back in the day.
E-Hero Electrum is only useful against someone that's playing a Elza deck or a deck that benefit from cards that are banish, but that's only if you're playing a Hero deck. Necroface already beat it in turns of effect and how easy it is to summon.
Tbf to using Tuner Synchro's+Synchros. Synchrons especially being good at it with the oodles of support they've gotten, usually the level 12 Accel Synchro Monster is worth the trouble and, idk about you guys but if i go for it i'm getting 3 of those things in one turn XD At worst i get like 2 level 10s. T.G's are pretty bad at it though hence why they became a stun deck on release instead of Synchro Spam.
Top of the list should be Statue of Easter Island in Adamancipator (which you summon via Unexpected Dai)

The thing about rainbow magician, is that it was made for the pendulum format. As in 2 pendulum zones and 5 back row. Nobody really knew just how much links would fuck the game over when they were made. But konami apparently had to nerf pendulums and the result was making them unplayable to the point where only 2 pendulum decks see use. D/D/D and Endymions. the latter of which is extremely degenerate and only reinforces the idea that pendulums are unfair when really it was just a handful small handful of pendulum archetypes like qliphorts and amorphages.
Side note, I can't be the only one that thinks Yuya should've gotten a link monster ages ago. Seriously, it feels like nearly every Arc-V character but Yuya has a link monster. Where is our performapal/magician/odd-eyes link monster Konami?!

It literally sat in the field zone and did nothing for all 6 games I used it

Last time I checked Blade Blaster wasn't even the worst level 10 T.G. synchro.
I knew there'd be a Shaddoll card here, but I figured it'd be Wendigo or Hound (actual bad cards). Curse Of The Shadow Prison isn't *bad* so much as it's unnecessary now (it wasn't *that* bad at first when El Shaddoll Fusion didn't exist).
I think it was mainly cause Dave already ripped on wendigo years ago and hound isn't that interesting
Unsurprisingly some of these are anime cards.
The last time I saw Elemental Hero electrum was when I was getting ftk with blaze phoenix bombardment bird, and before that it was Fusion gate catapult turtle ftk. When I first watch this video I thought that it would be only Destiny hero monsters there are so many that are absolutely horrible that you wouldn't run into deck let alone any deck.

13:00 There is/was an ftk deck that uses fusion gate + chain material and electrum to loop gustav max, its pretty ok compared to alot of other fusions
Future Fusion, especially in its pre-errata form, makes Electrum useful for Miracle Fusion setup, with the only major drawback at that point being running the bad Heros needed to begin with. I'd argue Divine Neos or Mudball Man are worse.

Centerfrog can't be used for material so you don't give your opponent a massive advantage, and it's flipped to defense mode so you can't just give them a massive opening.
Electrum hasd an FTK with Gustav Max at some point, so it can’t be that bad.
the point of the video isn't "Shitty card that got misused in something else", its "bad card in good archetypes." A real HERO deck would not run this thing.

Back in the day, Blade Blaster wasn't a terrible budget option for Accel Synchro. Dave clearly has never seen triple Quasar decks.

I completely agree with you on “Curse of the Shadow Prison”. I remember I tried to incorporate that card into my Shaddolls deck, and yeaaaaaah COMPLETE WASTE OF A CARD! 😅😅
Funny thing, I use it in my casual Shaddoll deck, and I get a lot of mileage out of it. Mostly because my opponents are typical Yu-Gi-Oh players and don’t read the damn thing. Always hilarious to see their face. “Remove 3 counters to use your shit to fuse.” “NANI!?!?”
Synchron CAN and WILL spam enough synchro to summon two quasar, (don't know about t.g.) but halberd cannon (or t.g. shooting star dragon, or quasar or blazar etc.) Is muuuuch better
would Cyber barrier dragon be ok if you could tribute it to play a cyber dragon... and then have the trap card do something in the graveyard like a banish graveyard fusion or something

it was being use in Shaddolls, which is what got it hit. And then they didn't replace it with the field. So clearly they'd rather just not play a good card then replace it with a bad card. I didn't forget.
Now I will not argue electrum is hot trash. If you play heros and you actively choose to play it you deserve ever L you get. That said I would like to point out that there are several combo decks (all be it over complex and you would be better if using a competent meta combo deck) that use Electrum in combination with fusion gate and chain material to burn you opponent to death. But I think that just fur reenforces how bad this card is. It does nothing for its own deck or has to find highly specific and niche use in a burn deck.

I think in my opinion Destiny Hero Dusktopia should be on the list. It is a fusion of a fusion that only lets you fuse once and offer crappy protection. Dystopia was better than this garbage. Destiny End Dragoon is easier by miles. Why Konami made many fusions of fusions is beyond me.

Decks are more than likely all designed it once. Not only that, the ritual monster isn't even good by itself in a bubble, and simply because it came out first isn't an excuse. Frankly there is no reason why it couldn't be better. Coming out first shouldn't have anything to do with it. If the card was 5 years older than the rest of the support then I would see your point but that's obviously not the case here.
Ahaha fair enough. Hell if I know why I felt the need to defend emerald eagle. And considering soulburner was already out in the OCG by the time we got SOFU their are no excuses. Maybe they already had every other summoning type but synchro and decided it really needed the ritual regardless of viability. Alas, I will forever wait for the desired Salad Ritual support. It's the only true way to play the deck.

Blade blaster isnt that bad. The idea of it is to make it, use dragon fly to bring back the 2 level 5's you used to make it and then make halbred cannon which if halbred cannon is destroyed. You can bring it out of your GY for free. A 3.3k body which can dodge lightning storm and effects and when with the link 3 tg, cant be targeted by monster effects
