I love the UZI. The slow fire rate is so much fun. And because it is open bolt and bounces around makes it not to much like a laser. But I love using it for all the Factory quests right now.

Probably of note: I don't know if these started with this wipe, but you can buy AKM slant brakes and AK-74 handguards and stocks from Prapor for a rather low price, which (if you have the tools for it, which I think I found just by looting tech supply crates on GZ) gives you the ability to convert any VPO-136 (incl. scav guns) or weapon parts (craftable from any SKS or VPO-209) into the AKM or AK-74N respectively in hideout, which are both extremely solid options - though the crafting time does necessitate using purchasable guns, it's nice to be able to use the full-sized platforms with all of the benefits they provide
To be honest, I prefer using the UMP, because it costs just a bit more (40k instead of 35k) but shoots much better ammo (the .45 lasermatch has the same penetration, but much better damage [76 instead of 56]) and has the same size magazines (25). So I usually buy the UMP instead.
I will always be a fan of the PP-19 and the VPO-215, but I'm glad they are adding more options for lower level players-- it's really nice to have some usable guns and accessories purchasable right out of the gate! As others have pointed out: the 20-round 7.62x39 mags for the AK pattern VPOs are pretty solid for beginner kits too: 20 rounds is fine while using semi-auto, and the AKs are just better than the SKS now for most use cases I feel like (reload is faster, optics mounting is easier, mags are cheaper, etc). Or to put it another way, I might use top-loading SKS for an ultra-minimalist kit (so I don't need a rig), but if you're gonna spend any more than that, the VPOs are just a better option now I think. The Saiga 9 / PP-19 also have a very early access suppressor IMO (can't remember if it's available from day 1, but it's gotta be close), so they're nice guns for questing and PvE.
9:37 I can confirm this from first hand experience. i have tried shotguns, both pump and semi, in a couple of raids and they feel severely underperfroming, compared to earlier wipes.
when it comes to shotties I found that dickshots with slugs can take down pmcs fast, seeing as there are rarely plates there and you hit stomach hitbox.
Imagine they implemented the unconscious state with a reworked blunt damage so shotguns blast you and knock you out and you can finish them would help out lower pen ammos to be effective and new playstyles
I think it would be really cool if you could get stripper clips for the older bolt actions and semi-auto rifles. They would function as a one use magazine, and would either need to be reloaded after each use like a norma mag Or would just be destroyed or dropped after use
I wonder what you think about the UMP Gigabeef, because you can easily buy it for 1 Bayonet and 4 gray scav knives (that can be bought from fence easily), and the starting .45 ammo, the Lasermatch has very good damage (76) and mediocre pen, so it behaves just like the starting FMJ ammo for the poor man's val, but is used on the UMP which has good recoil control, modability and magazines. What do you think about this?

The armor isn’t even the real problem with this wipe not having any t6 armor and 42 pen on flea this should iron is out a little but there still needs to be a significant buff to blunt damage or even a rework because while a scav grazing you with buckshot and you dying is impractical and unfun a slightly reworked blunt damage system would help a lot with lower pen ammos cause no pmc realistic or not should be taking 50 9 mill shots to a thin lvl 4 armor
I asked for MP-40 and Kar-98K in EFT and BSG added UZI and Deagle...😂600 RPM is not slow btw. MP-40 is 500-550 RPM. I suppose the UZI is the closest we will get to the German "Burp Gun" in Tarkov.

The aks-74un is amazing you can put a pso 4 times on it for woods or long range fights and the new railed dust cover for a red dot. You can find boxes of high tier ammo all over reserve
No you don't, getting shot in the back would damage the entire armor, now it's just the back plate. Also armor stops bullets better now as most lvl 6 vests have lvl 3 soft behind it, slowing and stopping even igolnik sometimes.
Shotguns nerfed again. Come on, BSG, it’s a game, not a reality simulator… … and heck, in reality if I shoot someone with a ‘low penetration’ slug against early armour, which is soft armour or thin plates, they will feel it even without penetration! They give the new .50AE utterly absurd stats to make it vaguely useful, of course, they know this is a problem… … but they don’t know how to fix it.

Sks only pretty much early wipe so I can top load in raid and level my assault rifle skill, then swap to 74u so I can take advantage of cheap pso scope/canted red dot combo, with the closer to the face canted red dot on the 74u with the b11 hand guard Pic rail

Be careful with the Uzi, although it's fantastic early wipe, in my experience the slow fire rate, massive inaccuracy (4 moa at 100%), and extremely fast durability deterioration, you could run into raid at 4moa and leave at like, 8. I highly recommend a suppressor cause it's also a flash bang to yourself
If anyone minds answering this: Does the flashlight and IR laser also still improve hipfire? Just started again after a year and im not sure if they have changed that in the meantime
The armor changes decimated the game for me. It went from a different, very fun shoot out loot out game to another copy paste head tap clone out of the 50000 other ones.
I loved the armor hitboxes, then suddenly people were complaining about dying to the side because they were broadsiding themselves to get more visual info running back and forth and dying for it. Imo git gud and stop sprinting with your weakpoints out and it'll be better but now we have a comically large armor hitbox that is essentially the old armor system but with slightly more server performance impact. I still think old armor was abysmal and now we're basically back to it, and as a consequence once again the non-pen ammo (half the ammo in the game) is considered useless and a waste if you use their new ammo loading preset because whats the point

But what drew me to eft in 2016 was how different it was. The Uzi is barely cheaper than the MP5 which has 200 MORE rpm. If the uzi was way cheaper I’d say it’s much more viable but it’s not that great for the (roughly) 50 USD difference.
Reserve is really good for ammo especially in that trench near the tents as well as the white and black pawn buildings interchange garage runs also are also pretty safe and offer like 20 weapon boxes

Cool gun, but in IRL is realy bad in modern warfare if enemy have armor like soliders with soft armor. If enemy have slick u can destroy him or on head, but KEDR is cheaper and ammo is everywhere or u can Stalker and use AKS74u and every where on ground are PS or PP+
The small armor hitbox was the one unique thing about Tarkov that allowed higher chances for newbies to beat sweats. And could even be called a "hardcore feature". But Nikitka pissed his pants in fear from the competition and returned the change.
Man i love shotguns and it seems bsg just hate them. They delete blunt damage first, then they change the hitboxes of plates, so any pellet-based ammo is pretty much useless in a gun fights, then they nerf to the oblivion shotgun RIP ammo with +50 recoil. AP ammo is the literally only viable option and they still managed to make it 50-50 in terms of oneshot capability when shooting mid-tier armor 😪

Pro tip: buy the AimPoint H2 from PK1 with the riser. It sees over the front sight for the M4/ADAR.

The best ammo for shotguns rn is 6.5 express. It has the most pellets and low recoil, making it great for fast headshots

Hot take I LOVE the mp5k with green top rounds, feels REAL good early as a headshot killer, and green tip reduces recoil, so it's very controllable

You can usually get 30 round keter mag from fence if you want to run keter, he usually has a bunch just FYI for everyone

The Uzi is barely cheaper than the MP5 which has 200 MORE rpm. If the uzi was way cheaper I’d say it’s much more viable but it’s not that great for the (roughly) 50 USD difference.
Fence has a virtually endless supply of keder 30 rounder mags . More pricy but considering its a level one availability... Nobody is hating on it.
You can get 30 rounds mag AK55 on Prapor lv 1 for trading Pliers
where are good spots to find ammo?
Reserve is really good for ammo especially in that trench near the tents as well as the white and black pawn buildings interchange garage runs also are also pretty safe and offer like 20 weapon boxes

scope shack has like 12 ammo spawns near/in the green boxes
Usec camp tables have like 10 spawns too

Cool gun, but in IRL is realy bad in modern warfare if enemy have armor like soliders with soft armor. If enemy have slick u can destroy him or on head, but KEDR is cheaper and ammo is everywhere or u can Stalker and use AKS74u and every where on ground are PS or PP+

The small armor hitbox was the one unique thing about Tarkov that allowed higher chances for newbies to beat sweats. And could even be called a "hardcore feature". But Nikitka pissed his pants in fear from the competition and returned the change.
Man i love shotguns and it seems bsg just hate them. They delete blunt damage first, then they change the hitboxes of plates, so any pellet-based ammo is pretty much useless in a gun fights, then they nerf to the oblivion shotgun RIP ammo with +50 recoil. AP ammo is the literally only viable option and they still managed to make it 50-50 in terms of oneshot capability when shooting mid-tier armor 😪
