Should I make more podcast style videos?

I'm right there with you on so much of this. I really try to keep other creators in the inspiration realm without letting their great work making me feel less than.
I love your authentic voice. You are a real human and that will pull people in.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It truly means the world to me! ❤
I just visited your channel and we seem to both be in the beginning of our RUclips journeys. I love connecting with other creators who get it since they are also living it!
Loving your content, storytelling abilities, and editing style! I agree, that we can glean inspiration from other big creators, but ultimately, our uniqueness will help us the most as we move forward.

    Consistency is the key

Well, I watched it to the end. This is you, being you. This is the very definition of authenticity. Keep doing you, all the other roles are taken. ;) I think that taking a curious, and open approach to figuring out this RUclips thing, takes courage. At the same time, your willingness to experiment and find the fun in the process is hugely important and what I admire about you on this journey.
I totally agree, by the way, that slow living can be done even in the midst of a full calendar and life. What might be different is the scale of the slow moments. Maybe if I work part-time, I can spend 20 minutes in my garden. Or, if I work full time, maybe that looks like me sniffing flowers at the grocery store as I pick up groceries for dinner. Either way, I'm "stopping to smell the roses".
Don't give up. Sounds like a good plan to manage your worries and how to keep going.

If you do more of this style video, I would remove/move the laptop. It creates an awkward barrier between you and the viewer.
I can relate to a lot of what you’re saying. I started my channel in January and knew NOTHING about editing or SEO or any of it. I just knew that I liked watching RUclips. There’s a lot of frustration when your product isn’t matching what you envision…yet.
Watching the big expert channels is fine, but you definitely do have to do what works for you.
And lastly- the pull between creating content for YOU and creating content for “the algorithm” to grow is a really tough one.
What has helped me in my journey is this-
I decided I want RUclips to be a business for me. So, it’s not really about what’s fun. I’m following the views so I can grow. But I’m also at a point, still just under 1k subs, where I’m willing to experiment and see what feels satisfying AND gets views. So far, so good.
I have also made a commitment to post once a week every week. Sometimes I do twice a week. But it’s ALWAYS on a Monday or Thursday. Whenever I edit or film is up to me. But I always post.
Lastly, I’ve connected with a couple of other creators and we encourage each other all the time.
I’m confident you can do this and you’ll find your way ❤️
Can’t wait to see your progress!

It helps to also hear from other creators who have been in the same spot as me and have persevered.
I gave your channel a look and watched some of your videos and can see that you had a very similar experience to me in the beginning. Love your content and just subscribed! I know you will be hitting 1k in no time! 😃

So glad I saw this video. I feel the same in many ways. I'm subscribing. I'm trying to be authentic as possible but also see all those "How to videos" that seem overwhelming. I'm trying to stay focused on enjoying what I'm doing and seeing where this journey takes me. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed this podcast style video.

I just checked out your channel and see you are doing a 30 day challenge of talking to the camera. That is such a great idea! I've subscribed! And love your cohost Rollo! Haha

Consistency isn’t as important as VALUE in the long run and RUclips is an evergreen platform that people will enjoy for way longer than just this week or month.
sure consistency is important but if the video isn’t interesting to the viewer than no one will watch and very few will sub.
I try to have footage filmed in advanced so I have lots of time to edit it and that makes it easier to get it out weekly. But I also cut myself some slack and if I don’t have something ready then I can take my time with it and do it next week.
I work full time, I have four kids, and I design house plans on the side so RUclips has to fit into my life around all the rest of it. Hence why in the spring I had to stop producing altogether for a few months.
At the end of the year my audience will not care if I had to take a week off here and there. They only care about what they get from my videos. Entertainment, education, or inspiration, etc.

Thank you for sharing your experience and views! I agree that consistency isn't as important as the value we provide in videos. Your way of approaching RUclips creation is super healthy and sustainable!
I feel like my journey is still a work on progress, but love hearing from other creators to see how others are approaching it 😊
