In my first attempt, I scored 9, 8, 7, 6 in Listening, Reading, writing, and Speaking respectively. I used your video ONLY for 1 week to prepare for this exam and if I can get these marks, I know practicing with the books will make me achieve much more.

@@dalianalobotorres361 I did not buy anything I did some mock tests they help to understand the format and thats the most important thing.
For writing I watched his video and did exactly the same thing. Divided the email and survey in parts as he described and added some fancy words and connectors.
For speaking make a pattern in advance just like he explained otherwise it gets confusing.
For reading it is really important to read and understand the text faster. I always get short on time during my reading. But get lucky I guess.
For listening I have seen many videos where they tell you to make notes. But for me listening carefully is more important because while making notes sometime I miss on the recording. So this time I made notes of few facts but listened more carefully to understand it clearly. Last section requires notes taking.. To check what suits you best take some mock test on youtube. Some without taking notes and some with notes. You will understand what works better for you. Do not leave anything blank.
I feel its not an English test it is a stress test. Timer on the screen gives me stress haha

I was struggling a lot to clear CELPIP Speaking.. I was able to clear in all 3 abilities with score 8 or 9 but speaking i was always getting 6. I needed 7 in all 4 abilities to be eligible for express entry category. Finally, i was able to follow Mark Speaking Videos, followed all his videos and practiced with simple english as if i am talking to another person... Also, i purchased his CELPIP speaking material which also helped me to get an idea to improve my cooked up story CELPIP speaking is all about the idea you get during that time. If you don't get idea it's difficult to get desired score even if you are good speaker .
With Mark videos and his speaking materials i purchased helped me a lot to make a story quickly. Also, his reading strategy to crack the questions where we have to say A to E.. His strategy was really helpful to answer all questions in 10 mins..
Thanks a lot Mark, I am sure your sessions are helpful for all new comers..

Yes. There is a difference when you give advice using the English language and my own language. As a new learner of English speaking, it is hard for me to speak in English especially when you don't know the right word and how to use it in the right grammar but if I am going to give a bit of advice using my own language it is really easy to say it and tell without thinking how to use it properly every word.

    Hey Mark,
I took the CELPIP exam last Saturday and luckily I passed my exam! I wanna thank you for making awesome videos! I only need a CLB 5 for my PR but I got L-8, R-9, W-7, S-7. Your videos helped me a lot I only watched your videos and practiced a lot on speaking cause I noticed a lot of people scored the lowest on Speaking. I didn't really practiced much on the other modules I concentrated on the Speaking part I always set a timer and recorded my voice. I only reviewed for less than 2 weeks I said I'll be depress if I fail the exam cause I paid a lot I paid almost $400+ cause I took the express rating cause I'm in a hurry to get my score so I could submit my application for PR. My advise to everyone taking the CELPIP exam is that don't be in a hurry nor panic if you hear other examiners already on the speaking part. It's kinda hard to concentrate specially when I hear my seatmates already typing on their keyboard for the Writing and I'm still on the Reading part. And then some of them are already Speaking its really hard to concentrate I wished they had keyboards that are not so loud when you type and they should upgrade their headphones so that you cant hear other examiners voices during the Speaking part. I was really nervous I wasn't even able to sleep the day before the exam. And then I had butterflies on my stomach the whole time. I cant explain what I felt during the exam I felt sick, and sleepy and then my stomach is churning, I felt hungry, I wanna take a piss and a shit LOL. I guess its because I'm nervous and then I didn't had enough sleep and had anything to eat before my exam I only had an Ice Capp. I suggest that examiners should get some sleep and eat a lot before the exam.

Hi Mark, I just wanna say Thank you so much for this online tutorials. I had my exam last July 28 and Thank God I made it in just 1 try. I only reviewed thru here for 2 or 3 weeks I think. I was so nervous with my listening and reading because I wasn’t so sure with my answers. I remember you said to just make a guess if you are not sure of your answer and I applied that 😁. It was not a very high score but sure enough to think that self reviewing can be fun too especially if you don’t have time because of work. I applied each and every technique that I learned from your tutorial.
Again, Thank you so much and more power to you.😊

Hey Mark, thanks for your great advices. I am preparing for CELPIP and having problem to fit into the given 90 seconds time frame. Usually the time is over and I'm not even half way through with my thoughts. Overthinking is my problem...but I'm working on it.
Anyway to answer your question, my native language is Hungarian and I truly believe that every language have it's own way to speak. Maybe a simple sentence does make sense in English but doesn't make any sense in Hungarian and vice-versa. This is why many people having problem to learn & speak a different language because they try to translate straight from their language which sometimes just doesn't work. For example, some of the advices a Hungarian would give in a friendly situation just by translating to English could be easily considered to be rude or a bit harsh because of the difference between the two given language. The key is a lots of practice.

Hey mike, i just got your message that you got your driver license yesterday. I am really happy for your achievement. Since you are now a new driver and you want to buy a car...thats a good news, its been 4 yrs im driving too so based on my personal experience i can give you some useful advise. Mike you are just 17 and have finished your graduation and still you are in a learning process too. so, you should consider your budget 1st. There are so many websites you can search where you can find second hand cars at a very reasonable prices. one of them is kijiji ,i think toyota cars are not too expensive i just took a look for you yesterday, and i found some pretty awesome deals there. as you know the weather in canada is pretty cold so toyota is the best choice because it gets warm in winter very soon and you dont have to wait too long and the good thing is their services are also affordable. One more thing i want to say you please take your brother in law with you when you plan to go. He can help you in bargaining, purchasing and other process. you will have to register it and have to get insurance. Anyways good luck for your car and i hope you got some good points regarding this. Hope to see you with another good news.

I think learning English has changed my way of speaking my native tongue. For example, I tend to begin my advice by saying "Wouldn't it be better if you...." as if I'm translating from English.

    Hi Mark,
Actually you are right. there are some cultural differences in getting advice in other parts of the world. My mother tongue is Farsi and In my culture people tend to use metaphors for getting advice. For example: If someone wants to advise not to say a lie, he/she may say to you that: "don't tell a lie because the lier is the enemy of the god".

    Hello sir
In my language or back home we usually are very direct while giving advise in fact sometimes I feel like when I ask advice from anyone back home they usually force me to do the thing a certain way which is usually their way lol.
But my husband being from another country always is very open on giving options and he doesn’t force me, he always says “it’s totally up to you, you could do this or you could do that, it’s your call”. And now I finally realized his way of speaking is always so indirect 🙄 which sometimes frustrates me 😬🤣 but now after you lesson I realized he tries to be “more polite” when I’m asking advice from him. Hehheh!!
By the way your lectures are awesome!! Keep up the good work!!

Hi, Mark, it is still acceptable that I answer like " sorry, I am not vert suitable person to give u advice cuz I haven't have any experiences to buy cars..
however i have heard this and that.. blablabla... "
so it does not include what exactly the questions asks, but sometimes when i really have no idea of the questions.

16:35 if only this is true... I do appreciate your casual approach to CELPIP, love it indeed. I just hope test givers can be on the same page as well, because it became very apparent to me that in English exams such as this, lay language/ vernacular (sounds like an organ) is not enough to achieve the higher bands. Even when writing this comment, I am trying to use a variety of vocabs and thinking about the complexity of my sentences (which are both are tips for the writing tasks), it gets a lil obnoxious. Anyway, thanks for your videos!
