This is the best video it really helped me out. I watched a lot of videos of guys basically reprogramming their units but when I tried my hds live out of the box it seemed like it worked perfect. I want to be an out of the box guy!
I am interested in the Genesis Live function in the video. Even though the ability to contribute (upload sonar recordings) is free, the various powerful tools demonstrated in this video appear to be only to the annual paid subscription users at the time of my comment. The only thing that I can find that I can transfer to my Lowrance Elite Ti2 is a complete contour map of the lake I'm interested in. I can not tell whether or not my upload is part of the map.
I ordered Hook reveal 5 ss x ( 000-15503-001) that has Genesis live feature but only GPS. What will my map look like on the blank screen?. I have elite 7 ti that will set beside the Hook. The Hook transducer will be on my trolling motor. and the elite transducer is on the back.
Lowrance has the worst costumer service of any units on the market don't stand behind their products will give you run around please consider this before you buy

Amen me to I love the idea of just taking the unit out of the box and it working how you want it to. How often does that ever happen though...
