Thanks Mike, I appreciate it. I always liked Tim Richmond, he could wheel a racecar. I'm really hoping the decals work out for the Olds. Have a good safe weekend.👍👍
had that Tim Richmond kit back in the day....built it with little paint lol. couldn't really paint in the barracks....also on a suggestion from a buddy back then to buy Monogram kits. they fit together easier lol ❤
Thanks for checkin it out. That kit is a cool one I think, those were sharp race cars back in the day also. Have a good safe week and a Merry Christmas.🎅🎄👍👍
hi Marcus... awesome stash adds... your Old's is coming along nicely... i had the same issue with a gear box on one of my builds.. thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Thanks Jimmy, I appreciate that. With what you build when you chop one up, it's well worth it. You Build some Killer's. Have a good safe weekend Jimmy.👍👍
It's odd that NASCAR said that the aero cars of 1970 were not "real" production cars so they banned them. Initially restricting them in 71 to 305ci engines while others still ran 426 Hemis and 428 Fords. Then for 72 banned them completely. Yet within a mile of my house in the San Fernando Valley, which was never a NASCAR stronghold, there were 3 Daytonas 2 Cyclone Spoilers, 2 Superbirds, 3 Talladegas. All street driven daily. Then in the mid 80s, GM racers whined that Fords had an aero advantage with the basic unmodified Thunderbird body. So NASCAR let them put the aero rear window on their notch back bodies. I have only once EVER seen 1 Monte Carlo Aero Coupe on the street. No Pontiacs or any other GM Aero car. Then when Chevy brought the Monte Carlo back to replace the Lumina because Lumina sales were sagging badly, the racers found that in spite of GM bragging they had spent over a billion dollars developing the new Monte Carlo, the rounded sides of the tail of the body spilled downforce off the sides like Niagara Falls. So GM talked NASCAR into allowing Monte Carlo racers to fit the back of their cars to the templates for the Fords. I have 3 or 4 Aero GM model kits. One of them is a "How many of you think the #3 caused that crash?" There's a #2 Rusty Wallace Pontiac. And I don't remember the others. Bought them all when they 1st came out. Probably won't build any of them.
Cool history Dusty, I love the Nascar's of the 70's, 80's and 90's. The Aero coupe's wasn't very attractive but they kind of grow on ya. Have a good safe weekend Dusty.👍👍
