- MOMENT Police carry off 'Just Stop Oil' protesters glued to ground of the Mall outside off Buckingham Palace.
Just Stop Oil protesters have blocked off The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace in London, to protest against fossil fuel licences.
Around 30 activists started sitting on the road at 8.45am wearing orange high-visibility jackets and holding Just Stop Oil banners.

Personally if someone is stupid enough to super glue or chain themselves to something the cops should be allowed to forcefully remove the offender by any means at their disposal.

"Is that comfortable, is that alright"! As an ex police officer I get frustrated about current officers being too polite. You can be polite and professional, but be firm, robust and make the arrest and just get on with the job in hand. Personally, to remove people gluing themselves to the ground, deploy a very effective power jet hose and that will solve the sticking problem.

I assume they were all taken back to the station to warm up, given tea and biscuits and sent on their way. Even in France they likely would have gassed them and unstuck them from the road with a water cannon. The police are obviously right behind them and their course. I wonder what would happen if they were protesting the congestion charge or similar?

Compare and contrast the kid glove treatment of these people by the police and the treatment of Middle England protesters against lockdowns or simply any other issue where they were not disruptive, destructive or violent.

it has nothing to do with the police - and everything to do with the soft and sloppy courts, who tell them they have precedence over everyone else, and wont give them a sentence which reflects the inconvenience, harassment and danger they really give to the public! I think they should show us the way. Dont eat or drink anything that has oil in it's manufacture or delivery. That would solve the problem in a few days. It wouls also remove excess poulation at the same time.

The police need to be much more stricter with the laws.
As soon as they sit down they must be dragged off at once regardless to glued hands. If it hurts so be it but it won't remember at once then no glue has the chance to dry. Be robust Cooper's or peeler's
