For society to gatekeep the way people dress and behave based on their genders is straight up sexist. Similarly, tomboys aren't the same as trans men, who can be as feminine or tomboyish as they wish themselves, and the same applies to trans women and femboys or just feminine men. It is a spectrum, and people have more say about their own identity than those who surround them (part of this involves respecting their pronouns btw, it is disrespectful to disregard people's will regarding their own identity).
