Awesome overview but I would like it if you could remove your selfie cam or move it to a place that isn't covering the settings you are adjusting as I couldnt follow which fields you were tweaking with the lighting unfortunately
i can't believe how lucky we are to learn from someone that works in a gaming studio like you its nice to learn from you other videos in youtube they are just watch how to kill performance thanks for the work u are doing respect
Hi, amazing lesson! Could you please make the next one about creating god rays through clouds? I've searched on RUclips and found results showcasing the effect, but I couldn't find information on how to achieve it. It looks stunning!
Just a small crit, tour face cam blocks a bunch of the settings you are showing to change in the details panel which makes this a bit hard to follow at times.
Hi Karim, thank you for such amzing resources, it's very kind from you to share thease knowledges, bty, I cn't find the download link I really need to fllow your steps in the same environment. Thank you.
Putting 1 EV limits is facepalm. Before messing with exposure you need to explain to people what it is, what it does and how it impacts lighting overall. Just setting it to 1 from the start doesn't explain anything and basically ruins all future lighting setup because you will need to compensate it by intensifying all other light sources on your scene which will lead to lighting inconsistency and performance issues in long term. UE settings were created based on real physics calculatios. For reference Sun light intensity is 120k lumens during daytime, by changing sky light intensity and leaving direct light on 10 lux you are basically saying to UE that we located are on a planet with very bright atmosphere but with very weak sun light. It is not hyper realistic but rather hyper artificial
Thank you. I just 10 seconds in then read your comment. I pause the video just to write this comment. Thank you for saving 27 minutes of my time. It looks like the guy in the video doesn't know what is he doing
In the end you need to see good results whatever the techniques you are using. There's thousands of artists doesn't care to understand all of these information they just want to get a good results.
Love the video, but please move your camera away from the settings because there were times we could not see what you were adjusting bc your cam image was covering it.
@@lynkoLight It's okay. Other than that, great video! Very helpful! Are you planning on doing a video to go over the problems you might find at times when doing Nanite, Lumen, MegaLights, and Ray Tracing? I've been running into issues with LOD and lighting when using these and it's hard to find good videos covering all the Nanite and LOD settings with Ray Tracing to not cause bad shadows and loading. I used your settings and I noticed that my scene would have a shadow that would disappear as I turned around in the scene. I didn't know if that was a setting causing the delay of the lighting as I turned my camera or if it was my hardware. I'm running on a RTX 3060.
Thanks! I would be very curios to see tutorial about light placement (spot, point, rect ) for good game optimization, since for cinematic it is not hard to put many lights to look fancy, however it is not good for game optimization, so tutorial how place light let say in the room or long corridor so it is look very cool but in the same moment good fit for the real game, would be very cool!
Good tut as always but two notes… you change settings which are hidden behind your profile video, switch it to another place or just not use it, its not adding any value to the tutorial seeing your face😉 and my main question/ note… your fps drops from 120 to 60 (and I think you have a powerfull pc) only with this settings and there is literally nothing in the scene, how is this useable in games? If you place a landscape more buildings, AI etc. It will probably run with 20 fps…
thank you very much for your really interesting courses. jazakallah bikheir - we would like to come and see a course on light in the field of architecture. archviz. exterior and interior

Your selfie avatar blocks too much content. It is recommended to move your avatar away.

cant we just use material AO by switching off static lighting?
