Possibly, but you and everyone else creating this "both sides" narrative, which gives a swath of the public a permission structure to not vote for Biden, when there is no comparison, could weigh in on the election just as much. I can't help but think that the Bernie Sanders voters gave Trump the win in 2016. COVID gave Biden the win for a plethora of reasons. I doubt Trump will win, but if he does, it will be, I think, because the media will be fighting each other and not Trump. Ratings and access are very important to them.

Chris, pay attention-- your devil's advocate role does not make sense here. Remember what Lester Holt said after winning the Edward R. Morrow award: "...Our duty is to be fair to the truth."
Chris was kind of stuck. If he hadn't played devil's advocate, the interview would have either been 10 minutes long OR Chris would have been reduced to nodding his head and asking questions. --which would have been a good thing.
Remember who you’re allying yourself with when you play the Devil’s Advocate.
You can challenge those you agree with - Mehdi does this extremely well. Worthwhile views are capable of withstanding aggressive challenges - in fact it’s a disservice not to challenge them.

Insurrection can hide behind the veneer of a false spontaneous riot that it designed for the purpose, both to hide its existence, and to manufacture plausible deniability. That's what happened. The riot was not spontaneous. This has been proven by the January 6 investigation. There were top planners holding a cache of heavy weapons across the Potomac. By and large, the January 6 protesters were not carrying signs. Trump knew what he sought to achieve by the gathering, whether he ended up successful at it or not. In the absence of the Capitol Police officers peacefully stepping aside for the mob, possibly even led by him, Trump was edging for not just violence, but productive violence. He wanted the certification forcibly paused, at a minimum. This was a 21st century, televised, "politically correct" insurrection. The certification was paused, which was an insurrectionist achievement in and of itself. The world almost saw footage of a sitting Vice President fleeing the Capitol. Lawmakers were targeted for kidnap and grievous harm, and it was later proved there was a reasonable chance of that happening. The lack of gunfire traditional in most violent insurrections wasn't dictated by the kinder natures of the protesters-turned-rioters-turned-insurrectionists. The police were restrained by their modern professional training, but both sides' behavior was controlled by the new, high-tech, highly-litigious environment of the age. 150 years ago, the same event would not have resulted in just two armies pushing at each other for three hours. So, January 6 cannot be defined by its appearance or its placement in history, but for what it was: a violent, premeditated attack on the seat of government, led by a defeated president who refused to yield power, and who wanted democracy destroyed.

Cuomo is obviously a bodybuilder type, and they tend to be really narrow in their thinking (and that's a polite way of putting it), always seeing things as two teams battling it out: 'The Left owns the pandemic," he says, meaning people left of the Repubs/Libertarians talk about the pandemic too much and tend to exaggerate it to serve their purposes, which isn't true. You know who defines the facts about the pandemic? The World Health Organization, and their extensive data of all countries in the world show conclusively that the United States had the absolute highest number of Covid deaths in the entire world, worse than all poor countries and worse than all rich countries, with no other country even coming close, and they don't say this but those of us who pay attention know that the reason the US had the worst record on Covid deaths is due to a huge proportion of the US population absolutely refusing to follow even the most basic Covid safety guidelines and even attacking, sometimes physically, those who urged safety compliance. Those are the facts about the pandemic, not owned by the Left, as Cuomo says, but given without partisanship by the World Health Organization.

As a person that thinks Chris means well, since his firing from CNN, Chris has this overwhelming need to be liked and approved of by everyone. As someone who watched Chris for years, he is trying so hard to claim impartiality, and both sides everything (as seen on PBD podcast), it's dangerous and actually makes him lose even more credibility. What an excellent conversation with Medhi. As a long time fan of Chris Cuomo, I have to say that Medhi was right about everything. Not because I agree with him, but because he speaks truths. I'm super tired of "opinions" on the economy. If we all agree to the standards that the economy has been measured with for decades, then then you can't say the economy was better under Trump. And the Republicans know this so they have shifted to this talking point of "well it FEELS like the economy is worse now." Not only is this a giant hypocrisy coming from the "facts don't care about your feelings" crowd, it's also useless from a practical stance.
If your boss gives you a raise and you say that you don't feel like you have more money, it doesn't change the fact that you ARE receiving more money.
We're at a point in this country where Republicans will make up whatever BS they can rather than just admitting that things are good(generally speaking) right now.
I don't believe the two party system works. I vote based on what policies are best for the country. And right now, the Dems are actually doing things. The Repubs are not.
