    I have these for about 3 years now, and I can't imagine using anything else.
    I want to point out that you REALLY feel the difference in Helicopters, where you use the pedals constantly.
    The adjustability and smoothness just makes it feel like real pedals on a helicopter.
    -they do slip a bit if you have smooth tile flooring (no carpet), the anti slip pads wore off after about a year for me
    I added a wood cutting board between the pedals and the wall so they don't move at all.
    you can also screw them down.

    Another good review, but you did fail to mention the most important reasons for having pedals of this quality and that is crosswind landings and forward slipping. These pedals make it totally realistic (I have my PPL) and these were actually my first pedals (I did the twisty thing on a Hotas until I could justify these as I knew how important they are). Seriously, if you want a realistic flightsim you have no choice but to have these pedals.

    • @Tom--Ace
      @Tom--Ace 2 года назад +1

      Agreed Rennie, before I started training for my PPL flight simming was just a hobbie and I made do without any rudder pedals and just twist rudder on my X52, but now I am training for my PPL on a c172, a proper honeycomb yoke, throttle set and these pedals was a must for a reasonably realistic setup

  • @krhbc15177

    Really good review. I bought these pedals with my thrustmaster warthog hotas to replace my Logitech x52. The rudder twist in my old stick killed my wrist. Making the switch to pedals was definitely an adjustment because I had no muscle memory, it was totally foreign. But after a month of good use in Microsoft flight sim and star citizen, these pedals are a must. The added control and comfort they add are next to none as is the build quality. Will probably be the longest lasting pc peripheral you ever buy.

    Totally agree, I had the Thustmaster cheaper rudder pedals and they were just rubbish and I always struggle to keep the center line. Did not have the spare dollars to buy the TPR, so decided to build my own based on the TPR design and wow what a difference. Certainly worth it, if you are a bit more serious in using your flight sim.

  • @velamenradicum

    add the cubesim damper-mod-kit to the TPR's and they're perfect. Especially for flying chopper when the springs are removed. You get Anti-Torque pedals. With the springs installed, you get a smooth centering mechanism. It's a shame that TM was not able to integrate this on their own!

    Hi, great review as always. I was considering these but watching your video it seems the pedals are quite high off the floor and would be hard to operate with heels on the floor. I have the logitech pedals and my only problem with them is under braking I have to shift my feet onto the pedals which makes it difficult to be stable with the rudder. It seems these pedals require feet on as well for braking. BTW, I noticed you had the logitech pedal brackets installed backwards. They are meant to rest your heels on not to hold the pedals in place so they should be placed in front of the pedals not behind. If you install the velcro hook strips on the bottom of the pedals they are very stable on carpet. WRT dead zone, this is easily adjusted in FS2020 and has not been an issue for me at all. TBH, my logitech ones are quite easy to control rudder with heels on the floor, braking is their weakness for me but I use the brakes so little not a deal breaker. I think I will keep looking for something closer to the real thing, cheers.

    Overlooked because there was so much garbage and sims past have handled rudder input poorly. I've been simming since FS95, and only 4 years ago did I get my first rudder pedals. As a real world pilot, I hated prior models until I tried VKB MK-IV Trudders. The one I want now are the Thrust master TPR.... But we need more yoke and throttle options to pair up the high quality. My only tradeoff is that VKB don't have toe brakes, so I used the lever on my former CH Yoke and the two small axes on my current Boeing yoke

    My UpliftV2 standing desk (80" with L-return left) cannot be used with this. I'm glad I cannot use it because it simplifies my decision making. If/when I replace my current Saitek Combat Pro rudder pedals, it'll probably have to be with Virpil. Virpil has the benefit of using their software which can trigger buttons along an axis to be used for those sims with wheel brakes as a button only. While I'm sure someone can chime in and say there is third party software to perform that task, it's cleaner if the device itself does it. Spare me having to configure run 4-5 background apps for my simulator experience. Virpil's loading of the device behavior onto the device itself should be an industry standard. Thrustmaster is behind in this respect as I've only considered running TARGET for my TM Warthog when I was trying to use it for Battlefield 3 which has no support for a 32 button joystick.

    • @nejcmirtic529
      @nejcmirtic529 2 года назад

      The TM TARGET software and outdated piece of garbage, tried it for the warthog, uninstalled it right away, since it just mixes everything into one device, and you lose the buttons. Went with Joystick Gremlin, adjusted and binded all of the buttons with macros, so I got the OFF positions working as a button too. So now I got 64 buttons and 8 axis binded through it, and it works great. But you have to install vJoy to crate a virtual xInput device (wich I already had installed for the other things I was doing before). And from now on I am using Joystick gremlin exclusively.

    • @VirtualRealityPilot
