I am 70 years old. You are letting me experience something that I would never see. & I thank you for it. Great video and thank you much. 😅😅 waiting for the next one.
Hey, I'm 67 and fished Dog lake by Missanabie Ontario many times. The fishing is great and the wilderness is beautiful. Get some of your friends and take a good fishing trip. You'll have a great time and have great memories. You owe to yourself. All the best.
I was just at my grandpas here this past weekend. I live in Minnesota and my grandpa used to go up to rainy lake all the time with my uncle Ron. I’m 16 years old and have been really wanting to go. Thanks so much for showing your experience!
As a Canadian, I would like to thank you for showcasing our fishery on the worlds stage. We are so spoiled, and I think sometimes we take it for granted. Tight lines
You and Dad should come to the Detroit River during the Walleye spawn migration. Depending on the weather early April to May when the water temps hit 44 degrees it’s on. Hugh females full of eggs 5-10lbers .
Great Father’s Day post! I’ve done a lot of that type of fishing with my dad in that area (Lake Of The Woods, mainly) and it brings up some real fond memories. That fishery is so much better now than it was 20 years ago because of robust management. Not blocking off fishing all together like they do here in so cal (MLPA). Our last trip was about 6 years ago and it was better than it had ever been. Catch and release was the norm. Plenty of eaters for shore lunch but we released just as many breeder walleyes. Bass fishing was nuts, too. I’ll never forget my dad for taking me there. I miss him. Thanks for posting this trip!
Nice vid! I am 15 and me and my dad and a few friends go up to ontario to fish for walleye and camp in tents to survive and man are the bugs bad! fishing is great though and My biggest catch this year was a 25 inch walleye also caught a 3 foot northern. walleye are very fun to catch
I love this series every year. I grew up going up to the north shore of Lake Huron about 3 hours North of Toronto from Texas. I have not been up there in 6 years now and miss the area and the dangle up there so much. Thanks for sharing LFG!
You need to do Rainy Lake houseboats! A week out in the middle of nowhere, no other people if you go off the beaten path! Make sure your boat has GPS tho! And MN walleye regs are a lot more liberal... 6 in possession, only 1 over 20". Makes taking walleye home a lot easier! To freeze I dip in water and freeze on a sheet pan lined with wax paper to give them an ice coat, then vac bag using a FoodSaver or other vac sealer. Properly cleaned northern pike taste better than walleye! Key to cleaning pike is scrubbing the filet against itself under running water. Fold it in half the lng way and rub the sides against each other. Flip and repeat. This gets all the nasty tasting slime off them!
This is my home lake, gotta love rainy! Thankful to say I don’t have a limit , as I’m native , we’ve had some pretty wild days in the north arm of rainy
LFG please encourage the googins to look up north. My buddies own a cabin on Lake Wabatongushi in northern Ontario. They have basically the last non public spot in a wildlife sanctuary. Crazy Wiley catches at 30+ per day. We throw a back keepers. There is also great pike fishing. I have only been o the trip two years and have a 40” pike. Please expand your range and enjoy a lot of awesome walleye.
Your expertise in fishing with swimbaits for Northern Walleye is impressive. Your dedication to the sport and sharing your knowledge through catch, clean, and cook videos is inspiring. Here's to more successful angling adventures. And I am Floating Village Life.
Those Canadian shield lakes are just beautiful. We went to Ontario every summer growing up. Haven't been in about 20 years. I truly miss going up there.
the ones formed by glaciers are amazing underwater you could be 2 feet from shore and the depth be 25 feet its just amazing the kind of stuff glaciers can do even on small lakes. ontario is awesome
We do the same thing with our pork steaks on our crappie fishing trip every year!! My dad fixes 6 pork steaks… 4 for us boys the night we get there, then the other 2 are split in two, and made into sammiches for the boat the next day!!!
Love your Minnesota and Canada videos. I go up there every September for a week. Beautiful up there. You have to try northern pike. Gets a bad rap for there slime and y-bones. Once you learn how to clean them they are amazing.
Nice to see you up in Ontario. Love Walleye fishing at my home lake in Southern Ontario; Rice Lake. Haven't caught too many big ones lately (slot size of 25" here) but always catch a lot.
Love your videos and the googan boys ! If you're ever near Midland/Barrie ontario I'd love to meet you and learn some of your expertise keep those lines right brother and keep up the hard work ! Happy late father's day
You have to try Northern next time. Second best eaters behind Walleye. We up here in NE MN have them all the time. Just have someone show you how to clean it.
LFG whit the banger recipes (also thank you Ted) did these whit some perch and was not disapointed. Put ours in brioche hamburger buns whit tartar sauce 😍 need to get more cause they didnt last long. Amazing video as usual keep it up!
Bro go to Minnesota boundary waters next time. Namakan around international falls. That is a fishing heaven. 3 biggest walleye I have ever gotten and some stud pile and musky as well. Never stuck a lake trout there but have seen monsters caught.
You need to collaborate with Jay Siemens next time you guys come up north. He's an amazing fisherman and great youtuber and I just feel like you two would just get along so well and it would just be amazing for fans of you both!
I got lucky and the two times i have been to Canada were in the fall and i did not get bit even one time by a mosquito. One time was a week on Lake of the Woods and the other was called Lake Pakashkan, one of the top ten lakes in Ontario for pike. Every single branch laying in the water had a pike laying next to it. I was catching walleyes on spoons instead of northerns which was wierd.
The lodge you show in the video says Devlin, On but the lodge you list in the description is near Wawa, On... Completely different lake and opposite side of lake Superior. Any chance you have link to the place in the video?
I grew up on this lake and it was so overfished by tourists in the 1950s-1980s they had to go a lot tighter on the slot size than most lakes. When I was a kid in the 80s nobody fished Rainy Lake because there were no fish. Now it's a great fishing lake because of the slot size but damn it's tough throwing back those ones just over the slot size.
This lake is hit hard by tourists that stay on American side and then boat across the boarder. There is a national park and camping on American side that allows easy access to fish and come back. The lake had nearly no eyes in 70s/80s and both side of boarder put conservative efforts to turn it around. Most boarder water areas of NW Ontario and MN are 17-18” upper slots. Rainy is 1 fish per day and most other surrounding bodies are 2 fish for non residents. The American side has great fishing but smaller fish usually and a 4 fish limit 18” upper slot. Most 14-17” in fish on rainy are chunks and great eating.
If you know how to take the "Y" bones out when filleting them, Pike taste very similar to Walleye, and have the same texture of meat. In a blind taste test, I bet you couldn't tell the difference.
Key with pike is washing the filet well. Fold in half the long way and rub the flesh against itself under running water to remove all traces of slime. Flip and repeat for the other side. People who hate pike clean them wrong! It is the slime that tastes fishy/swampy. I will take pike over walleye any day! I don't worry about the Y bones, once you learn where they are it is super easy to pick them out as you eat
I am 70 years old. You are letting me experience something that I would never see. & I thank you for it. Great video and thank you much. 😅😅 waiting for the next one.
You ain’t 70 😂
@@ChristopherChanthinith if that were only true..

Always exciting to see the northern videos!
Man, nothing better than a trip up there. I go to Sandy Beach Lodge on Trout Lake. Such a great time
Love your Minnesota and Canada videos. I go up there every September for a week. Beautiful up there. You have to try northern pike. Gets a bad rap for there slime and y-bones. Once you learn how to clean them they are amazing.
I love the Canadian series ❤
Louisiana beer batter fry is the best batter for walleye and pike, or any fish, just a pinch of beer so the batter is think and crunchy
Nice to see ya up in our neck of the woods. Good stuff. Btw, it’s safe to touch the walleyes with your hands 😉
Nice to see you up in Ontario. Love Walleye fishing at my home lake in Southern Ontario; Rice Lake. Haven't caught too many big ones lately (slot size of 25" here) but always catch a lot.
Yes!! Been waiting on this Northern trip brother thank you!!
As amazing as walleye are to eat, the northern pike are right there with them in my book. A little tricky to clean but well worth it!
Sweet! Well done, LFG and LFD!
Love your videos and the googan boys ! If you're ever near Midland/Barrie ontario I'd love to meet you and learn some of your expertise keep those lines right brother and keep up the hard work ! Happy late father's day
Here in south central ky, ive caught more walleye on a shad rap than anything else. I would love to go up north and fish sometime.
Grew up in northern Minnesota. Fun to watch!
Great video! That Walleye patty looked delicious!
You have to try Northern next time. Second best eaters behind Walleye. We up here in NE MN have them all the time. Just have someone show you how to clean it.

Great to see you back up north with your dad, I remember the video when he got the boat. Gonna do some nightcrawler fishing again while you're there?
Just caught a 27 inch walleye the other day in rainy 😮
Making me even more excited for me to go on my trip to kabetogama (flows into rainy and namakan) next month bro
Bro go to Minnesota boundary waters next time. Namakan around international falls. That is a fishing heaven. 3 biggest walleye I have ever gotten and some stud pile and musky as well. Never stuck a lake trout there but have seen monsters caught.
You ought to come to lake Meredith by Amarillo for some walleye. A lot closer drive than Canada!
You need to collaborate with Jay Siemens next time you guys come up north. He's an amazing fisherman and great youtuber and I just feel like you two would just get along so well and it would just be amazing for fans of you both!
Killing me with the grippers hahaha
You guys need to come jog the Detroit river during the spring and troll Lake Erie for giants
Would love to see you fish Banks Lake Reservoir in Washington State for Walleye.
I got lucky and the two times i have been to Canada were in the fall and i did not get bit even one time by a mosquito.

Have you ever fished Lake Erie? If not go there to catch walleye the limit is 6 each and it’s great fishing.
Awesome, walleye are fish candy!
Rainy Lake is my favorite lake on this plant
A few local lakes to me in eastern KY have walleye.
When you said northern walleye I was hoping it’s my favourite place northern Saskatchewan deshambault lake
Best camping trip ever was to Ely. Amazing area, be careful of Sasquatch.
Honestly some good meat on the northern pike also! Just gotta get the bones out and it’s very flaky
Bass guys walleye fishing is so funny. Ya gotta get rid of those damn grabbers 😂
Michigan 13" is kept Saginawbay and 8 per person, 15" inland lakes 5 per person, but our lakes are full of walleye
As a Michigander, I can attest to them being the best eating fish on the planet!
Have tried northern pike? They're good eating too in my opinion.
It will INDEEEEEEEDDD take you down a rabbit hole 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💯💯
Was in upper wisconsin fishing bass and musky and my father in-law caught a walleye on a musky bait
"Nice one aye" 😂😂rackly got the northern slang too lol
It's "Eh" if you wanna spell it local proper
Headed to Lake of the Woods in a couple weeks!!!
You have to try walleye cheeks there in my opinion the best part
Man, I really want to go fishing there.
You ask me who gives you the same thrill you had as a kid watching Bill Dance/Hank Parker.. as an almost 40 yr old.. I say LFG.
Nice shorelunch
The lodge you show in the video says Devlin, On but the lodge you list in the description is near Wawa, On... Completely different lake and opposite side of lake Superior. Any chance you have link to the place in the video?
My brother LFG You gotta try a pike once MAKE SURE YOU WATCH A VIDEO ON HOW TO CLEAN THEM FIRST
Slot yellow walleye in Quebec have to be 14.5 inches to 21 inches. I'm surprised a 19 isn't a keeper in ontario. That's a perfect size for eating
I grew up on this lake and it was so overfished by tourists in the 1950s-1980s they had to go a lot tighter on the slot size than most lakes. Alot of Ontario has no keepers between 16.1 and 22

💯! Pike are way underrated
Interesting🤔I’d like to try some pike now lol
Key with pike is washing the filet well. Fold in half the long way and rub the flesh against itself under running water to remove all traces of slime. Flip and repeat for the other side. People who hate pike clean them wrong! It is the slime that tastes fishy/swampy. I will take pike over walleye any day! I could be wrong but in washington state you can keep i believe 10 a day.
Walleye, pike and musky are pretty good, anything with teeth is an eater out of Michigan besides crappie and perch
When cleaned properly, pike taste a lot like walleye too
I think Pike walleye chain pickler taste the same might just be me i like all fish mostly
👍
I want to get you on Lake of The Woods, the US side.
Great video!
Hey, you didn't mention whitefish. They're good to eat.
just curious - are landing nets illegal in canada?
Is that the walleye form the video that say u wanna going fishing lol
Where have you been missing your videos
Canada?
My pick is kokanee, walleye then crappie.
Are they better than crappy? I’ve never had any.
SW Oklahoma we trolling with Crankbaits
My favorite fish to fry
Come fish Saskatchewan
Looks like it needs some Texas Pete
❤
Can't use nets??
Can you troll that combo???
If it’s LFG catching it, you know it’s not the strain of walleye with a lead stomach
Love the channel LFG Keep it up. If you could heart this comment that would mean a lot to me
Remind to bleed them walleye out, and zipper them when u fillet them
