I have been going to Lake Of The Woods for years. One of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced. I am 81 yrs old now and my fishing trips are over. But the memories I have bring me great pleasure. Great video! Thanks for sharing it with us. KC Don 😉
As an angler I love how you respect all types of fishing. As a Canadian who loves northern Ontario wilderness and all of the amazing species we are so lucky to fish for, I feel a whole lot of pride when I watch you and your dad just loving your experiences in our most prized lakes. Thanks for exposing this treasure to so many folks who may otherwise never get to see it. Your videos of Canada are so fantastic.
I lost my dad five months back from a heart attack it’s a horrible thing to have to go through when you’re 14 with two younger siblings. Me and my dad were so adventurous we did everything, hunting, fishing and anything else that you could imagine. I would give anything to get to go on a trip like that with him one more time.
The lakers are orange because of the food they eat. Orange meat =freshwater shrimp and insects White meat= is a mostly fish diet. Awesome video LFG glad to see you enjoying the Canadian wildlife 👊👊👊. Love your videos from my neck of the woods!
This checks. The rainbows, in my area (WV) are usually white, they eat mostly insects while the browns and brooks, are usually orange...they eat fish but also craw fish, which could cause the red color.
The summer I cooked on Chequamongagon (sp?) Bay of Lake Superior I cooked a ton of Lakers and Lake Superior Whitefish. I even had the local delicacy of Whitefish livers! Back then WI had 22 commercial fishing licenses available and 18 fished out of Bayfield where the restaurant was. Great fish and we had some massive fillers come in! The common carry device cardboard tray that held a casw of 12 Oz cans, so that may have limited the size of what we got..
One of my son's would go to Flaming Gorge every summer with his ex and her family. They caught lake trout twice the size of the ones you caught. He didn't hate eating them but he preferred the salmon they would catch.
Jay Siemens just built a Cabin on one of the hundreds of Islands that they rent out.. Uncle Marks Outpost.. That lake is just insane from what I've seen. That lake is on my bucket list and I'm from the Metro Detroit MI area so it's not that far but have never made it there. That's awesome your and your pops were able to hook into some Lakers and enjoy them! Love the content!
Beauty. I chirped ya in the livescope video for not having a net, so I gotta say this looks like a great time. Those trout are masters at throwing the hook with those twists and turns but it looks like you guys were setting those hooks.
Very nice! Caught a couple good size lake trout on Tahoe a couple days ago. Fed the family with a fish fry. Very different from our standard lemon, butter and seasonings.
Northern MN, just across the border into Canada has awesome fishing, and awesome scenery! On Rainy Lake rent a houseboat! Anchor up in a cove and watch the wildlife! No people, you are off all alone most of the time!
That's called a half hitch he does on the first dead bait. Here in Australia we use that technique all the time with pilchards. Love your vids and your passion for the outdoors LFG and love the vids with LFD epic mate
Lake trout is excellent! I've had it all my life. The key is to eat the smaller ones. I prefer them under 6lb. The smaller ones are so good to eat. Fried, baked, smoked. All good!
really loved the cook portion of the video. the catch too. dont see that stuff on most, or pretty much all bass fishing videos. I believe i remember you posted a video or two cooking a bass. hope you didnt get too much flack from some of the hard core bass fisherman. thx for the great video LFG!
I have eaten trout several times and was never crazy about it until I went and caught some, cleaned them on the bank, and was eating like 30 minutes later. It was SO much better.
My family owns a seafood restaurant and it's as fresh as you can get it for a restaurant but it's incomparable to fresh caught....I actually brought some to go along with my fresh caught rating test a d UT was night and day....the fresh caught was so much better
The color and oil come from the fact that Lake "Trout" are actually a member of the Char family, same as Brookies. And if you like Salmon you will like Lake Trout. Around the people I fish with it's considered very good eating and a lucky by-catch when you're trolling deep for freshwater salmon.
If this was anyone but LFG I might criticize these last two videos for being a little excessive on the lack of "sport" 😉,but gosh darn fishing with your Pops and friends and the quality of the filming and scenery makes me care less about the live bait 🤷 , ffs 😮 . boatdrops😂 .Laketrout out of deep clean clear water with an expert cook probably made that fish as good as it will ever taste btw.Awesome vid LFG 👏👏
I used to fish lake trout a lot in the cascade mountains of Oregon.. it’s fun but started to become not fun… don’t put up a very good fight and they are horrible as table fair unless it’s a very young small one.. I love trout fishing just not really lakers.. this video was amazing tho and definitely a awesome environment
Should have eaten that pike, 1 the best fish there is.. I typically just eat the top shoulders and stay away from the bones.. But pike and walleye are my favorite
I kinda started asking myself questions at the 9:14 mark.... Holy crap.. I gotta reel this line back in if something is on it or hell just the the drag of the weight alone in the current... 😳😲
LFG I have a cabin on lake of the woods and it’s heaven on earth! Can be a lower unit killer if you don’t know where you’re going! If you need some hot spots I can hook you up
My bruthuh from anothuh mothuh... I've stayed with you while I've basically stopped watching the Googan Squad. I bonded with you because of your expressed faith in Jesus Christ. I miss hearing you talk about Him. I pray for you, OSG, and the kiddos.
the meat on trout becomes orange when they've been foraging in the wild. stockies feed on pellets so the meat is white. The Orange comes from shellfish. craws
I think Lakers get a bad rap, they're a little greasy yea but even wrapped in a tin foil on a camp bbq with olive oil shallots and whatever spices you got left over they're still a really tasty fish, the smaller ones I've found are better
I ain’t trying to be that guy because now I’m genuinely confused, I checked the regulations for lotw because I have a trip coming up, and it says you can’t keep lake trout at all, even if you’re a resident.
YT keeps unsubscribing me like instantly, resubscribe, watch video, leave, come back and I am again unsubscribed. You are not the only channel this is happening to, YT has been buggy for a couple of months.
LFG you are so lucky to have your Dad to fish with. Enjoy it every chance you get.
Amen brother time flys bye

Man I'm jealous... This guy gets to fish with his family and fish some of the best places in the world.

You can make a really flavorful dip out of them too
that was AWESOME!
You have taken on a Canadian accent….pretty entertaining to hear!
Lfg. I grew up on the most northren part of lake of the woods. It is a lake you can fish your entire life and never fish the same structure twice
Very good video and thank you much. 😊

Let me know the next time you come to ontario I would love to fish with you I love you and you guys
Some stud Macs! Those little pies looked delicious as well
You should stop by and see Jon B in Maine
Should have eaten that pike, 1 the best fish there is.. I typically just eat the top shoulders and stay away from the bones..

Any bigfoot sightings around that lake?
That kid netting your dad's fish doesn't know how lucky he is to be there😂.
Another great video my guy.....mmmm it's catching not fishing 😂
Awesome👍
Man Bru. That music in the middle of the video. It sounds like murder music form a HORROR MOVIE HA HA

What kind of drone are you using to capture such great video?
Lakers are good to make fish cakes with.
lol have they not heard about Livescope? Catch them all the time with soft plastics and jigs
I think Lakers get a bad rap, they're a little greasy yea but even wrapped in a tin foil on a camp bbq with olive oil shallots and whatever spices you got left over they're still a really tasty fish, the smaller ones I've found are better
propper butter tarts are made with currants not raisins, by the way this is a great Canadian controversy LOL
Never heard of people saying lake trout is bad.
I ain’t trying to be that guy because now I’m genuinely confused, I checked the regulations for lotw because I have a trip coming up, and it says you can’t keep lake trout at all, even if you’re a resident.
Drop the lines with a drone
Me and my Two Sons. KC Don 😉
Why fish from shore if you're dragging baits out with a boat anyway?
34th largest lake in the world.
Ummm what’s that green stuff in the bag?!?! Let me guess Kale?
What’s the purpose of fishing from shore when you drive the baits out with the boat anyway? Dosnt make much sense
So you can fish from shore??
Fishing from the shore is much more enjoyable especially with a group of people.
Nvm
First like and comment
Lake trout inedible?? Never. Smoked. Pan fried. Fried. Fish boil. List of tasty choices is endless.

Wait, do americans not have butter tarts? That's indefensible!

Extend your trip. It's AFRICA hot back home and it SUCKS
