Thank you and nice review! I thought the lumens output would have been higher with 4 bulbs. A single bulb outputs 3600 lumens acording to their site. 4 of them together shouldnt give more light? i want to replace my osram 54 watt fluorecent bench light (4100 lumens) for a more color accurate one. Would you recomend a softbox with Yuji led bulbs or a softbox with somethig like Godox SL-100D or Godox UL60 Silent?

Unless you have a very specific need for a high CRI bulb I would go with a "normal" quality COB (ifootage new LEDs are great and so are the new Smallrig Godo/Aputure are also good options). See LensVid for reviews - we tested lights from all these brands.

@@IddoGenuth Yeah i need highest posible cri for dental technician work. Acurate color matching is crucial and also i need a compact but strong light with ought shadows on my working bench. Our dental lab desk lights can go up to 1500$ but i saw an oportunity with those proffesional video lights and a softbox. I think i could achieve an even better result for significantly less money.
i understand you review those units for photography. But what if someone will use a setup like this to replace a desk light? Would even the cheapest units be bright and powerful enough to do the job? Or should i go with the more expensive options?
      Thank you.

Do the 36W bulbs have a fan?

      No. Passive cooling only.

The R9 and R12 is too low.
Search for "LED video light R9 R12 CRI 99" to see why this matters.
While each number must be above 95 having them above 99 is much better - lights with one or more R's too low will certainly be much cheaper than a better lamp, but harder to adjust the color balance and match with other bulbs.

I actually completely disagree. We have tested dozens of professional video lights over the years - none had 99 CRI and none came close to 99 R9 or R12. I am not saying that there aren't any in the world (we didn't test every LED on the planet) but the scores for this light are very good.
Of course CRI is not everything and there are better measurements today (we might get the updated Sekonic C800) but it is an expensive unit so it is really up to Sekonic if they are willing to give us one for our future reviews like they did with the C700.

@@LensVid I agree that there are other measurement standards.
When colorgrading have a look at the Vectorscope and Waveform Monitor; and check that the WB can be matched from different shots, especially indoor and outdoor.
If faces and clothing appear different it will be time spent in post to tweak and match.
Just like some lenses cost a lot and some are low cost there's a reason, and the ones selling the expensive products don't drop their prices to match.
Thanks for taking the time to answer, and I respect your opinion - if you can save a lot everywhere it's more money available for something else.

The whole idea of this video was to test a relatively inexpensive LED bulb and see if there was a way to turn it into an inexpensive (if you like poor's man) quality LED (actually use 4 of them for a high power setup). The answer is not definitive. I think that for the price this is a great light but in recent years there are just so many good quality inexpensive video lights out there that the lack of dimming option and the lack of a normal mount makes it a hard sell even if it less expensive (if you could buy a kit of these lights plus a softbox for $100 it would make a lot more sense to us for low budget use).
With that said there are some other good uses for these lights (as practicals or lights for an editing room). I would guess that we will continue to use them from time to time as fill lights - they do the job.
