Cool video. I've never dealt with GearWrench for warranty purposes, but after watching this, it sounds like they handle their warranties without many issues. I would feel confident buying more of their products.
Hmmm, I have two Gearwrench wrenches that broke...but I wasn't able to get anywhere with a replacement. I kind of walked away and wrote off the company. There are other wrenches in the sea. Great video, tHanks for posting!
Thank you and That stinks I sent another pic and claim for my 10mm long double box end ratchet wrench I haven’t heard anything yet this time.. we’ll see what happens
Just got an indexing pry bar today from warranty. I filed the claim online 11/18/22. I got it today, 12/1/22. It was pretty quick, especially when considering holidays, so I can’t complain much. The only thing I would grade them poorly on was communication. Once I filed the claim, I got an email with the claim number. Never heard back from them again. I called a couple days ago and they told me it had shipped, then got it today. Pretty quick turnaround, rather poor communication. Other than that, I’m happy.
I definitely agree! the last time I warranted a ratcheting wrench I didn’t hear anything from them. I waited and waited thought they weren’t going to so I got my snap on dealer to warranty it. Then my daughter found it The delivery person had put it in our bbq grill out front. LOL not GearWrench fault but if there was communication I would have known it was there.
You know when they stop making something they have to give u the newest version snap on has the worst problem with that but best benefit because they will discontinue something and u purchased the latest tool broke it and they give u the newest one
upside downdog the 18mm I don’t remember sometimes the ratchet part just cracks its happed to other ones I have, but I didn’t have to send it cause the snap on guy was selling and would warranty them now he can’t I guess. The 10mm long I was trying to get a fill plug loose on a rear end of a Honda suv I believe. It takes an Allen socket no room for the ratchet so use the wrench on the Allen part and a wrench extender it bent and broke it, and I still didn’t get loose LOL . that’s a great idea repurposing the wrenches I was wondering what I was gonna do with them I’ve done that before a Other wrenches didn’t even think about it with these glad I didn’t throw them away yet
My experience I bought a ratchet that was broke. I went to their website and filled out the warranty info, it took them about a week to email me and asking for pictures. The guy said that he'll have another wrench mailed out to me within 5 and 7 business days.
So gear wrench is good with their warranties ? I have gear wrench tools haven’t broke anything yet. I have herd some people say their are good and some say their bad
John Gordon yes, so far in my dealings with them I haven’t had a problem. I’ve heard the same so I thought I’d share how it went for me. Thanks for watching!
The reason they are and need to make the metal on their hand tool beefier is they no longer produce most of the tools in Tiawan which produce better steel, most are made in china now and the steel they make is much weaker. No company changes location of where they make tools because its able to make higher quality tools, its always the other way around to save money. And when it comes to steel you only want to use enough to make the tool as strong as it needs to be. With crap metal coming out of china they need to use more to hopefully get the same result. Tiawan made 90% of there tools 10 years ago and now China makes 90% of there tools, wonder why?
No doubt it's moving in that direction but there is still a good portion of Gearwrench tools made in Taiwan, I believe almost all of their sockets and ratchets are still being made in Taiwan. Personally I avoid buying any of the China made Gearwrench tools, it is sad to see because everything they've made in Taiwan has been high quality in my experience.
I have some issues with a couple sockets that came out of a set I just got and my phone didn’t work for the warranty form so I called and they sent me a email to send pictures to but I sent it maybe 5 days ago maybe a week now and haven’t gotten a reply or anything. Not sure if I should wait or call again. Not too impressed with the quality control. I posted a video of the set but it was right as I opened it so I missed all the issues.
A couple weeks? I can go to Harbor Freight right now. My new 120xp lasted 2 months and I'm pissed. I've had great experience with their tools until I bought the 120xp. It's garbage.
That’s true cheaper is cheaper LOL. sometimes it works pretty good and it will do depending on someone’s circumstances. I really like snap on but it sure does cost A LOT more!!! I did finally get some snap on ratchet wrenches 🔧 there sweet. If you haven’t seen it yet I have another video showing them. Thank you for watching and commenting👍🏻
Don't you hate it when you break a Taiwanese wrench and they replace it with a Chinese wrench? And it's not much better when it's replaced with a better quality tool. Because it makes the rest of the set look bad! I have a set of Gearwrench XP120 ratchets. Taiwanese made. If I broke one I wouldn't want a Chinese made replacement.
Here are some logical thoughts went through my mind while on 10mm wrench, the body (bar) of the wrench would be much sturdier than the boxing end wrench so the boxing end would def. gave up first way before the body. How would that wrench bent before the box end give up? Of if the box end wouldn't give up first, you either broke the 10mm bolt or stripped the hell out of that bolt's thread. Unless the wrench was used as a hammer 🤣🤣😂😂
good question box end held up pretty good but it was actually being used on a 10mm Allen head socket that didn’t have the room to get where I was going with a ratchet..so I was trying to turn the Allen head through the wrench and another wrench on the back for leverage🤔or was it a pipe for leverage I don’t remember 😂 🤣
I really like real world testing on stuff like this nice work man!
Thank you it means a lot!
Good descriptions , and good info! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the positive feedback
Thanks for sharing! that was really cool, it seems than those wrenches passed through a lot.
Thank you

Just an email saying it’s coming, that’s all we want 😂
@@JakeNaughtFromStateFarm for sure not to much to ask
Thank you sir for the info

Lila thank you for watching! Have a great day
Couple weeks? Smh I just submitted my first warranty claim. My tool guy retired
Great information... Thanks👍
Thank you

What did you do to break those?!?! Getting to keep the broken ones is good, you can modify the good remaing portions into special tools.

Nice I’m glad you had a good experience. Always nice for a company to back their tools with a hassle
Awesome man!!!
Mikes Garage thanks Mike!!!

chris webb yeah it’s to bad many seem to go cheaper instead of better quality.

Nick Shows Stuff that stinks if you on Instagram you can message them and ask for help that’s what I did

That stinks it didn’t last and I didn’t know you can get them at harbor freight they have GearWrench? Or you just get something similar at HF
Looks alot beefier so that's good!!
Right we’ll see how it holds up
It's great that cheap tools have a good warranty... But better tools don't break as often.

@@davehaggerty3405 for sure at least keep the tools the same.. no better or worse LOL
Will they replace them without a reciept?
Yes…you just take a picture of the tool and the part number on the warranty site and they send you a new one

Couple weeks? Jesus christ.
