@@codykelley1965 Well uhh. I still haven't got in my playthrough. I only got Ascension for Cloud. Yeah I probably didn't realize that there's more Coliseum challenges.

I like how this dude plays, he appreciates everything like the graphics and shit.
The fact that they Programmed NPC to continue thier conversation during cutscenes is so mind blowing and there's not much else to say on that
Watching Max play single player games is like 5 parts pure entertainment and 1 part frustration. He once said he backseat games for Steve because "He needs it Chat; I don't" but that couldn't be further from the truth, lol. Dude was 50 hours into this game here and used Braver when Scorpion was in Pressured. It's all in good fun though, the sheer hype and perspective he brings to his favorite games is always 110% worth it.
I know this comment is a year old, but I immediately noticed that and wanted to scream.
Max actually isn't very good at playing the game, his strength is his lore knowledge and like you say, hype and positivity and perspective

Just a little tip for you my dude, when you see a pressured state under the ennemy's HP bar: spam Focused Shots (Barret) or Focused Thrusts (Cloud) or Focused Strike/ParryCancelAnimation/Focused Strike with Tifa. I like to shortcut those stagger bar attacks with L1+/\ for cloud and barret, but L1+O with tifa because it's also a dodging move. Given that, L1+O is good for Counterstance with Cloud. Most of their bigger damage abilities are set on L1+□ (True strike for Tifa, Triple Slash Cloud, Maximum Fury Barret, AGA spell for Aerith). I like overpower set on L1+/\ Tifa because it can put a lot ennemies in that precious "pressured" state

The tip is mostly useless for Max now considering this was already done months ago. He's since finished the playthrough. Not to mention, comments here generally have zero value to him. I doubt he even bothers checking Arsonius's archive.
This isn't Max's channel, this is another guy or gal that uploads Max's archived streams that he won't put on RUclips. It makes it easy for people who don't want to deal with going through Twitch.
That said, this playthrough was months ago and I can confirm that Max never really learns what to do in this game when it comes to which abilities to use at which times. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes lol.
Restarting a game from scratch on hard would probably be impossible to beat.. Even the shinra soldiers would kill you right away. That burst of fire did around 750 damage with lvl 50 defense and end game gears.. Imagine at lvl 7 with no gear. Your damage would be laughable. Tickling the soldiers with your buster sword. This is all true if the hard mode you would like is the same as this one.
@@VvVici of course I would expect it to be like a "Dante has to die" kinda mode lol "Cloud has to Return to the Lifestream" difficulty xD I think the scaling system for an harder mode would just have to be slightly different but they could make it work. I think it was a year later they added another difficulty to both FF15 and KH3 I'm sure they could nail it right on the head this time :)
@@gasparguruoftime5475 Yes! It's both funny & frustration to what his fighting. Becouse even if I suck in some parts. I uses asses and try to learn what to do. As this is a really great strategi game. So he schould have been dying mutch more as he sucks at strategy. But he really likes the game and the reverse for the most part excatly what happens in the original

Thanks for this upload. I waanted to watch max hard mode playthrough for some time now but it's not on youtube.
No access to items was neat, but I hope they come up with something interesting for future hard modes. Because I had zero reason to use elixirs and high-end items on normal.
I notice I'm one year late... But yeah, they should make items more relevant.
But the item consumption thing is such a minor thing in my eyes, cause even in the base game i never really used it as much lol.
I know this is a very late comment, but if you have the game on PC, it’s worth looking at difficulty mods. There are plenty of mods that give you customisation over enemy health, attack, magic etc. so it makes normal mode much more of a challenge, and makes items much more useful for normal mode instead of barely needing to use them.

Im not very good at games and even I beat hard mode. Plus the simulator on hard. Lucky I guess. Eligor was tough

My Barrett was only strong enough to keep the scorpion at same hp since it kept healing and I didn’t have revive.

Does anyone know if he uploaded his second play through anywhere?
I noticed at the end of his first play through that he was a much lower level so imagine he played through a second time on normal mode?
Probably only a little bit because I think beating the game once makes exp gain way faster, and maybe hard mode does too so he probably just ground out levels up to 50.
