- In this video I bash my Brushless Converted Traxxas Summit 1/10 for the First time on 6s Lipo! This Beast is Driven by the Traxxas E Revo 2.0 Power System, which consists of a Vxl6s Esc (6s capable) and a 2200kv Velineon Brushless Motor

that looks like a ton of fun!!! awesome vid!!!
Thanks buddy!
Nice run. You predicted the future. It's kind of expected that something will break when you bash. The Summit took a good tumble but the drive shafts should hold up better. It's a great looking rig.
Yeah I definitely expected it….if only it was a bit more durable
Awesome Nolan
If only the erevo 2,0 axles would slide in nicely thats’d be a great upgrade for this rig😉
Yeah that would be nice….the stock driveshafts are borderline useless when running brushless power
Now after watching this vid I'm now planning to buy myself a Summit very soon then convert it into brushless. Thanks very much for the vid yo.
Run it in 4s though 6s is too much
@@kevenclouston-bilodeau5311 thank you very much for the information. Very useful for me
@@kevenclouston-bilodeau5311 4s is too much lol….I break it every run of two on 4s too
Be careful…it’s only fun when it works….which isn’t much of the time once you covert it over to Brushless….expect a lot of wrenching
@@RCKnockout hey yo thank you very much for the advice. I'll definitely keep that in mind. Where you located at yo?
The summit is a great truck. You just have to know its limitations. The summit is not a 6s bash machine you take to the skate park, but it is a very capable 4s monster truck that if you are reasonable with wont break (I jump mine all the time)
I have a castle 2200kv in mine that i run on 4s and almost everything is stock. I put proline mashers on mine since the stock tires are more crawler than speed oriented, and other than the plastic drive shafts wearing out and eventually breaking (I get several runs out of them before they fail) the summit is very reliable. I have mine geared to go 35mph which is more than adequate given its ground clearance and stance, any faster just makes it a handful.
The suspension design and travel makes it take rough terrain like nothing else I've seen and even tho it's not a crawler the low gear and locking diffs are enough to let you do things you cant do with anything else in its class.
The summit is one of my favorite RCs I have ever used (ive owned a number of them including mini scales to 5th scales).
There is nothing like the summit and its a real shame traxxas does not make it anymore.
The Summit is definitely a one of a kind machine! One of my favorites too! The suspension can soak up the roughest terrain with ease….you’re right it’s not meant to be an extreme basher…it’s definitely the most reliable with the stock power system in it
Do you mind if I ask how the 2 speed transmission is holding up to the Castle 2200Kv system? I've got an E-Maxx Brushless Edition which uses the same transmission only without the two speed, but I want to add the two speed. I'm just worried it wont handle it. I only run on 4s, although I might try 5s.
This looks absolutely insane yo 😳
Thanks man!
I still have my E-Revo brushless 1.0 but damn I hate this thing. Every time I went out with this car I broke something. Currently bashing with the Arrma Granite and I really love it. Nothing broke so far. Its like day and night compared to a traxxas rc car....
Yeah I’ve actually heard the 1.0 is better than the 2.0…..I know a lot of people have issues with the E Revo 2.0….a guarantee it’s still a lot more durable than a Summit though…glad to hear you have an rc you can depend on
NO! Those driveshafts just cant keep up with the summit. Great vid!
Thanks! Yeah I can’t find a set of driveshafts that will hold up unfortunately
id have to find the video to refresh my memory
Okay
only thing i can think of is maybe try a centre diff or older erevo diffs i saw someone do it before on youtube best of luck
But would I still be able to retain my 2 speed trans? Or does that require swapping over to the E Revo transmission?
Hay Nolan the E-Revo in the summit share a lot of the same characteristics but with the E-Revo you can get high-velocity steel axles form Traxxas have you ever tried to make them work on the summit or won't that work because of the two different size axles I messed up the other day put the big ones in the back and the small ones in the front so I have to switch it yet for some reason it's working
Well I know the bulkheads, diff housing, diffs and driveshafts are all different….it might be possible to swap everything over….but only if I got rid of the locking differentials altogether…which isn’t something I wanna do
I think the summit's been around for 20 years and all that time no one has came out with a affordable fix so I just say with the plastic driveshafts with metal ends the plastic gives out before the metal does so I keep buying driveshaft $12 for the long ones $8 for short getting really good at replacing them your right about the differential it's really not the easiest thing to work on but if I pay attention to your videos I always figure it out thanks again Nolan
@@troywilliams3535 yeah that’s true it’s been around for a long time….if I keep on breaking these upgraded ones I might just swap back over to the stock plastic shafts myself…much easier to replace than digging into the diffs
How does it wheelie my 6s summit never wheelies
Yeah it’ll wheelie on 4s from a stop…it’s constant wheelies on 6s
@@RCKnockout mine dosent wheelie at all on 6s
@@DavyEdits it might be your slipper spinning
Hi wat clutch are u using as mine just slips out after a few mins cheers
It’s the stock slipper clutch in it
Same problem with the Arrma 3s line. No one makes a driveshaft that will hold up.
That’s a very frustrating dilemma…I know the feeling though
Shim the diffs tight. Run plastic driveshafts. Cvd has no flex. Hot glue between the bulkhead and diff case! Run on 6s!
Appreciate the info!
if i were you put the stock diff cups on n get traxxas hardened steel spiral cut diff gears even with mip axles set screw breaks is y they give u spares
Why do you recommend swapping back to the stock diff cups? They’ve already failed on me multiple times…and they cause the spider gears to strip, hence why I went with aluminum upgraded ones
Also I’ve already got hardened steel spiral cut diff gears from Hot Racing…
What spur and pinion gear are you using?
17/62
@@RCKnockoutstock transmission and diffs?
@@RCKnockoutalso is the motor a 5mm shaft?
@@temosgarage stock transmission, hot racing spiral cut diffs, gpm hardened steel spider gears, aluminum diff cups
@@temosgarage yeah
Have you tried MIP CVDs?
No….that’s the one brand I haven’t tried….those ones might hold up but they’re super expensive….we’re talking over $160 for all four…I don’t know if I wanna invest that kind of money in a machine like this….even with those the Summit won’t be bulletproof….something else will just break every time I bash it lol
Oh no you broke it. It's dead 💀 😭
Kinda expected it though
just keep a opened mind the summit is not a 6s capable truck Erevo 2.0 has a centre diff Summit runs better on 4S not really ment for 6s
I’m fully aware….this thing breaks half the time on 4s….hence why I said I was “sure it was gonna break during this bash”…..I understand the risk involved with running this thing on 6s
Get a custom drive shaft
She rips but what a bummer
Yeah I’m kinda used to it with the Summit though
Titanium is the answer pony up
Thanks for the tip!
ok so i found the video n put a link check it out
Ok thanks
Traxxas....
you just made a erevo lol with summit body and your better than mr beast
Unfortunately it’s not that straightforward….especially if you wanna keep the diff lockers and the two speed trans
All a summit basically is , is a revo lol.. just different tires. Dam sure looks exactly the same.. I wonder if revo gears and diffs would fit..
The main chassis is the same….but the bulkheads…diff housings…transmission….differentials….and driveshafts are all different….so basically the entire drivetrain is different and isn’t interchangeable
@@RCKnockout well maybe the diff casings could swap.. like take the revo casings and put them in the summit chassis.. I wonder if that could work since the chassis is "the same " as the revo.
That would make that summit 8s capable lmfao.
@@___Aaron___ it might be possible to do that….but only if you got rid of the diff lockers altogether….which isn’t something I’m gonna do….having diff lockers is what makes the summit so special especially for crawling
Aluminum tie rods are flashy junk. My erevo broke the end caps, went back to stock and havent broke, after crashes and cartwheels. Put the stock hubs back on too. I laugh all the time ignorant people spend money on aluminum suspension parts and chassis only to break. In case you havent figured it out yet, metal dont give! Plastic does give and breaks less. Let that be a lesson to you.
The tie rods have held up well and I’ve abused this rc a lot
