True. More Companies will do it now because most follow apple. You now have reprogramming devices that links the displays serial number to new one. And you could also use the self repair program to get one parts and they will do the programming with another device

What are the yellow tape and the glue and why do you need them

Ih guess the yellow tape is temperature resistant tape, to prevent to much heat on the other parts, and the „glue“ is Flux. It is used when soldering, I dont know the exact reason why you should use it

Kapton tape, heat resistant just to keep the piece in place, flux give better and easiest soldering result.
