Today on Let Dirt Fly, we install the HMF Performance Series exhaust on our 2014 Yamaha Grizzly 450 EPS. We bought the quad used a while back and it had the exhaust installed on it already, but due to the exhaust being loud, we reinstalled the stock exhaust. So today we reinstall the exhaust, rejet the carburetor, and also give HMFs Quiet Core a try!

Loved the video, keep up the great work! 😁
Thank you! We appreciate the support!
Great video nice grizzly
It’s a great little quad! Thank you!
Your welcome
You probably know this and didn't do it for a good reason, but if you pull the tank off (which is super easy), the carb is way easier to get to.
I put a stock Harley pipe on mine . Sounds good and smooth. I took everything out of the inside just to try it out and honestly it sounds badass like a Harley-Davidson . Not kacklee or tinny like you might think but really throaty and good sounding. . Didn't know you had to rejet it when changing the muffler. Good to knowq
When you were putting the quiet core in your muffler your music selection made me and my girl get up and start two stepping and acting a fool
Stay warm its almost over bring on the heat
I'm going to buy a 2020 can am outlander xmr 570 soon
Exhaust sounds great! I'd leave the silent core out! ( but i get why you have it in). Quick question, can you give me some public places/parks you ride? Not sure where in NY you are, but wondering if there we any good public parks to ride in the area. Thanks!
Yah I’ll probably take the core out when we go to big parks that don’t have restrictions. We’re in the Hudson Valley, Newburgh Area. The closest place from us is lost trails down just over the PA border. Then there’s AOAA which is about 3 1/2 hours which is an amazing place. That’s also in PA
@@LetDirtFly thanks for the info. We are t too far from you, in NJ just across the NY border. Been to lost trails a few times. Great place. Let me know if you’re ever up for riding with subscribers. We are fellow XMR riders as well. We’d love to meet up and hit the mud.
@@brosforlife1828 awesome. We plan on doing a few sub rides this year! If you haven’t already, go follow our Instagram or Facebook:Let Dirt Fly. We’re going to be posting where we’ll be this year soon!
Just been away with the lads to Scotland UK from Liverpool England on the bikes I'm Looking for a decent quad, you've give me some good ideas thanks
Awesome! Glad we can help!
I have the same xmr as you and my wife has a 2012 Kodiak 450. Have you had to adjust the valve clearances on your carb?
Haven’t had to do that yet, but the Grizzly does need new valve seals on it. It smokes a little on start up. We’re going to be doing a video in the spring on how to do it!
@@LetDirtFly my wife bought a snorkel kit and a rad relocate so I’ll have her bike torn apart in the next couple weeks so I’ll probably do as much other maintenance things I can when it is all open up. Your Yamaha back fire every once in awhile? Bike only has 3700 km .
Try a small car muffler for quiting.
So did you see a performance improvement with the new exhaust? Any more pop on throttle response?
I would say a small gain. Didn't wow me.
A slight bit, but that’s more from the tune. The biggest way to make power is to get an actual dyno tune. The flash tuning people have to try and make a tune that’ll work on everyone’s quad, not yours so they have to keep the tune safe and conservative
Nice comparison, how does the plug look after making those changes?
Plug looks good. The best way to check it is to go wide open then shut it off and check it. I haven’t got a chance to do that yet, but I had this setup in it before and the plug was perfect. I might actually try going slightly leaner.
@@LetDirtFly Thanks, I was thinking about adding a quiet core to a "new to me", used aftermarket muffler for my Brute with fuel injection.
@@atvseatexchange2176 shouldn’t need to rejet or retune for a quiet core. Although if you have a eci machine, flashtunes are a great way to make more power!
@@LetDirtFly Good, after my 2 stroke 4wd project is bored and put back together, the 750 Brute will be next for attention.
