Some possible feedback I would offer would be to have someone that is 5’ 10” or shorter sit in third row of any vehicle you review that has a third row. I am personally 510 and sit very comfortably in the third row of the new MDX. Majority of Americans are 5’10” or under and most people that will be sitting in a third row are guaranteed under 5’10”. I think this will provide a more realistic in their opinion on the third row of these types of vehicles. I love your videos.

When using traffic assist, if the car comes to a complete stop it will resume forward travel on its own if the traffic it is following begins moving within about 4 or 5 seconds. If the halt is longer than that, then the driver must take anction to resume forward movement. This is the same procedure as on the regular MDX.

What an engaging and entertaining review. It was just fun watching you thrash this MDX down a winding backcountry road. This was what I was hoping the Type S variant would be - a blast to drive while being composed. I could do without the gimmicky button transmission shifter but otherwise this looks like a win to me.

Two days ago I was at the Acura dealership ordering the options for my 2023 MDX type S. You can order a Tire and Rim plan that will cover anything happening to your tires or rims. I figure with prices always going up it's better to lock tire and rim cost now. Also to you can order a doughnut and or a full size spare. Granted there is no designated space for a full size spare but if you like me there are times when I have come home on a Friday and not leave the house again till Monday only to come out and find one of my tires on a flat. I had a full size spare right there in the garage to roll with. So I ordered both a doughnut and a full size spare, cause you just never know. Since my MDX has the off white leather seats I order the seat protection that if they cant get a stain out they will replace the seat.

I have always had a question to ask: how come most, if not all reviewers never mention the fact that you can slide the second row seats a little forward so that there is more room for the third row, so that it is more usable? It to me seems to be a really important feature. I know you mentioned the second row can be moved forward. But without indication that can be a solution to the limited third row knee space. Even better, you can adjust sitting position of both first and second row so that all passengers can have a pleasant longer trip.

Most of the reviews of the TLX Type S are positive, the complaints are the tight back seat, no 360 cam (in the US), it’s the heaviest and it’s the slowest in the segment. The MDX Type S is the best Acura on sale today and is packed with great luxury, tech and a lot of “Acura firsts.” There’s not much to dislike about the MDX.

So, what was wrong with the A-Spec? It has the tech pkg (because Acura wants you to buy two packages), so what is the A-Spec missing? Power? Sh-SWD? Given the market, you'll prob not lose on the trade assuming the markup on the Type-S isn't absurd.

It’s Not a Crossover. It’s an all new platform and is a full SUV. A Crossover by definition is a lifted vehicle based on a passenger car platform “crossing over” between a car and an SUV.
It just needs 18” or 19” rims and AT tyres. Pity we don’t get it here in Australia.
It’s a Honda - of course it’s amazing. They always have been.
The only thing I can’t stand is the infotainment screen sticking out of the dash rather than built in. I hate that.
Also the rear seats are heated, they should be cooled too same as the front.
Love the blind-spot monitoring on the inside not out on the mirrors. If it was good off-road - I’d want one.
Pity you didn’t take it on some gravel roads.

72K?? Wow!! Yes, here I go, lol That's Macan/SQ5/X4 M40i Money for me.. Reason why I say that is, I don't need a third row. Or a second row to be honest. (See: Empty Nester).
With that being said, I do like the interior. Nicely laid out, with loads of tech/comfort features.
In that price range, It should have another 25-50 hp. 0-60 in 5.85 seconds(Although numbers don't necessarily tell the whole story) is slow for a $70k vehicle.
    Exceptional review as always, Ryan.

Those cars does not even compete with this car. The closest one that the MDX Type S would compete with is The Porsche Cayenne and 3 rows X5 which will probably cost way more when it's similarly equipped.
You wouldn't b cross Shopping a three-row SUV with a tiny little CUV, because if you are then you might as well compared it to a $70k Corvette.

@@tonychau1983 I do agree with you that it is not all that much faster than a Honda Pilot, especially for the price of you're paying. But I think there's more to it than just the speed alone when buying a cars like the MDX Type S. If you're looking for a 0-60 SUV Beast, I would say look at the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Otherwise you can also look at the BMW X5 M Competition for an all-around SUV. I believed the two vehicles that I just mentioned does not have a third-row option on the specific trim.

I’m glad to finally see the Silver/Blue interior combo, however, I’m very disappointed in the infotainment though and the fact that you can’t customize the screens with the menus such as navigation full screen and being able to switch between the main screen and tachometer screen like in Audi, BMW, or Mercedes. It’s like Acura is 10 years behind everyone else.

Acura missed the mark with the non-touchscreen. Lexus customers was extremely dissatisfied with their non-touchscreen and received numerous criticism, that they finally brought back the touchscreen in their new models. Seems like Acura is a few years late with the touch pad. Bring back the touchscreen and move the screen closer to the driver. What a bummer.

It's fantastic and sooo much easier to use than the Lexus version. My wife has an RX350 and I literally can't use the trackpad, Acura's version is very easy and intuitive to use. I really thought that would be the thing that I didn't really like about this car, but I liked it after 5 minutes of playing with it. If you touch the track pad in the relative position of the icon you are trying to activate, you never even have to move your finger to use and you don't have to reach to hit the touchscreen.

Great review. I enjoyed your presentation. I feel it was complete and well thought out. As far as my opinion on the vehicle, I test drove the 2023 Type-S Advance and I liked a lot about it. The items that I think they should change are the top speed limiter of 110 MPH. Other SUVs in this segment are 130-140 MPH. For a Type-S, that’s pretty disappointing and was a horrible decision on Acura’s part. The other iteam (which isn’t a deal breaker) is the middle seat fold down arm rest for the second row. Sitting back there, I noticed how low it was for my elbow. They should find a way to raise that to an even height for comfort. Side note, they should also offer an all gloss black wheel option. Outside of that, I think its a huge step forward for Acura. Let’s not talk about current interest rates of 5.5% at it’s lowest. Considering I have a GMC SUV at 2% and a Shelby at 2.5%, that’s horrible. I suppose we can thank the current administration.

Needs more HP. Really wanted to upgrade from my Explorer ST to this as we’ve had many acuras in the past. The $7-$12k premium over the ST could not be justified. Wish they would have made a true performance model and left the gimmicky lux features to a normal MDX (even more premium sound, air ride, etc)
