I just stumbled across this. I have a long question(s). Maybe you'll be able to answer it? I've asked this for years, and it's always an answer that I still can't understand. Sooo. I'm a guitarist. I understand notes, how to layer sounds on an 8track. Easy. I don't use computers by the way. Midi seems effing impossible to understand. So you have a controller. It makes synths play what it plays. What do I need to make music without a computer? I have an 808, a boss sampler. A mini korg. An effects unit. A Yamaha dx21. A tb-303 clone. A korg er drum machine. What is an affordable sequencer to buy? Do I need anything else? This is all soo confusing. Do I need a mixer? If I make a drum pattern, and I connect it to a synth, I've heard it "triggers" it. I assume it means plays it? How did a sequencer know where I want my samples and synth notes go when the drum machine plays? I have a great ear for music, but I just want to make electronic music, as it's my first love, but I've been intimated to try it for over 3 decades because it sounds so effing confusing.. any suggestions?
First of all, you need to make sure your devices are MIDI compatible. If your controller is USB MIDI only, then you will not be able to control your synths with it unless you get a device known as MIDI Host, but then again not all USB MIDI ports support it. It would be best if your MIDI controller had a dedicated MIDI port. Then you can connect it to your synths, drum machines etc. and it will be able to drive them
HELLO can you make a tutorial of the midi bluethooth for ipad with aum as well as for pc for example with ableton? thanks!
