I was born and raised in the Philippines, I'm 44 now, and I saw that growing up also and vowed never to marry one 😅. Not all, though, but most of them are, especially back then. And yes, I get it also when she said when you are super extrovert here in the US, they'll think you are weird. I have a 19 year old daughter who just graduated HS last year, and she often has a smile on her face, and some of her classmates asked her why does she smiles a lot 😅. Its a filipino trade mark. I'm just thankful that she grew up here in the south, in a small town in Georgia, where things aren't bad like in some part of the country. Kids here are still taught to say yes sir, yes ma'am, and thank you. People still hold doors for you as well. The sense of community is very much alive. Of course the south is known for their hospitality and super laid back personality. Brought my 8 year old here to Bohol last August and she is currently going to to Cantuba Elementary here in Buenavista and yeah schools here are a quite a bit different and sure a long day but great for the kids. Got tired of the BS in the US!
