I went with a titanium ring as a training ring but now I think it maybe my permanent wedding band because it is light weight and I hardly notice it anymore after a few weeks.
titanium is so much more attractive, the lack of resizing option isnt the best, but for a mens ring, we tend not to be so sentimental about passing down rings, the ring for us is more just a flag to other women of 'we're off limits', so i dont think it matters much, replace as needed for how inexpensive they are, and dont have to worry about them getting lost or damaged. as to not being able to be cut in emergencies, not true at all, almost every hospital is equipped with cutting tools that can easily deal with titanium, might take a few extra minutes but thats it. tungsten carbide is probably better yet, scratch resistant, cheaper, and in an emergency its snapped off. i got scared off watching how easily those things shatter though, dropped on concrete from a few feet it can literally shatter, and ive heard it doing the same if smacked on a table or wall hard enough as well.
Great video! I just want to add that Ti is usually never sold 100% pure. Grade 2 is the most used form of "commercially pure Titanium" at 99,3%. The rest is mostly Iron and Oxygen, which make the material harder at the cost of flexibility, while preserving the excellent corrosion resistance. If I ever get married, I know for sure that I'll choose my favorite metal for my ring. Great color, great feeling and very durable. Plus it's easily affordable.
I love the titanium because white gold is kinda milky and will eventually become more yellow over time (because it's the nickel inside that makes it white and golds original color is .... Gold)
Takku NoTori Pure gold (aka 100%, 24 karat, .9999) is gold coloured (almost orange), and is incredibly soft (malleable), but never tarnishes/rusts/oxidizes. Any time you mix two or more metals together while they are liquid, the result is called an alloy. The closer that gold alloy is to 24k (pure), the less likely it'll be to tarnish. Adding different percentages of other metals (i.e. copper, nickel, palladium, silver, cobalt, etc) to the gold alloy reduces the gold-purity, but also gives different working properties, hardnesses, and colours. I have seen yellow gold alloys, white, green, grey, purple, red, pink/rose, and almost blue gold. "Impurities" aren't necesarily introduced when making alloys, but some people may be allergic to certain metals used in the alloy. If you buy quality gold alloys that are more than 50% gold, they should not rust or tarnish at all with normal wear. Some alloys with high copper content will turn some fingers green (like the Statue of Liberty), and irritate the skin. 18k nickel white gold has almost the same hardness as some steels - especially if hardened, and it polishes beautifully. However, I believe in Europe, they have banned all nickel-gold alloys due to allergies. Palladium 14k white gold has a grey colour "similar" to titanium (at least more than nickel white gold). Many commerical jewellery stores out there use a crap-quality white gold alloy (especially 10k & 14k) that looks kinda beige, because the alloy is easy to work with. But then after manufacturing, it needs to be plated (often with rhodium to give it a "chromy" look) in order to pass for "white" gold to the average consumer. The problem is, replating is a scam. It just costs the consumer money that they should never have to pay for a quality product. However, if companies would use good white gold alloys that look truly "white" to begin with, then those rings should NEVER have to be plated, because they polish up so nicely. BTW, I believe you're thinking of tungsten/carbide that can't be cut off fingers with normal EMT equipment, because it's too hard. (Tungsten/carbide is used to make tools the CUT other softer metals!) Platinum, gold or silver can be cut using most any EMT tools.
Wow the most informative words about this topic👍I was also surprised by your passion to care about your wedding ring and How much you matter that👌😃💐💐💐🌹🌹🌹
I too will go for a titanium ring. after almost a decade, now titanium can be resized, so that has become a myth. but it is still hard to find jewelers that can do that. but being practical, titanium has so many advantages. gold is just 'precious' metal, that's it.
Hey mate, just wondering if you can wear the titanium ring in the shower. I know you said that the colour of the ring stays the same then the gold but I just wanted to double check. Cheers
Ursula Baker You can wear titanium in the shower. A lot of body jewelry (which is meant to stay in at all times, including during showers) is made with titanium.
Grade 5 6-4 titanium "aircraft" grade is alot stronger than pure titanium. So if you have a grade 5 titanium ring the odds of it getting crushed to your finger is almost non existent!
Aloha, Great video, of course I knew all along:) Just wanted to reassure you that EMT does have hydraulic clippers now. We recently had a man send us his ring for a remake...he had been in a motorcycle accident and lost his pinky and the tip of his wedding ring finger. His ring was in three clean pieces!
It's obvious which is which. I have a titanium ring and a Sterling silver ring, and there is no comparison in color. Also, titanium will pick up micro scratches very easily. The scratches on precious metals tends to self buff. I not a fan of white gold, the issues that it has are because you're trying to turn something that is yellow to white. The overwhelming majority of metals on the periodic chart are "white" so why turn the only gold colored one white? It's silly! Symbolically, I don't want a wedding ring that is so light that I forget about it. Marriage is a weight matter and should never become so light that you forget it.
I'm sure you won't forget you're going home to dinner with your wife...a ring doesn't remind you you're married, it's just a symbol of your love for other people to see you're off limits.
I agree. It's not as bad as I thought it would be but still not great. When I was looking for a ring I could not find a male ring in a style that i liked that was under 6mm wide. I could not bring myself to look at female rings, which would have looked better on my small fingers.
Wanderer001 I paused the video at 1:25 seconds, and I'm going to say that the ring on the left is Titanium, and the ring on the right is White Gold. Let's see if I was correct! Now back to the video! I need to know these things, as I plan on selling this style of jewelry.
Wanderer001 Alright, I was correct. I immediately noticed which ring was white gold, and which ring was Titanium, because Titanium is darker than White Gold.
Wanderer001 Stainless Steel isn't bad either. Especially Yellow Gold/Rose Gold Stainless Steel mens/womens jewelry. It looks 100% identical to the expensive gold pieces out there, and the prices are unbeatable. You should also see how well Moissanite Diamonds look compared to expensive genuine diamonds. Women usually fall in love with Moissanites after seeing them in person.
No no no.... titanium tends to crack, not bend, when pressured hard enough because it is brittle and very hard. On the other hand, gold is a very soft metal which tends to bend easily and don't crack.
Yo, Dude. Since you hand-made your wedding ring and upload this documentary video in video in YT. But you know what? Your narrative parts is too long without much scientific analysis and evaluation after using the same mold or the size. So that I skipped from the first 1 minutes to the end. But by what you said one got bigger diameter in discrepancy in sterling titanium alloy one. That is the key point. You ain't the first one to try this sterling alloy, but very good in the price comparison............. I knew the one with titanium sterling ring.........STF
Girlyman for sure! Oh, I’m so worried about scratching at my wedding band. Be a real man and just wear the gold one. And you were completely obvious as to which one was gold from the beginning of the video due to the motions of your hands.🤦🏻♂️
I did realize that after the fact but just threw this together years ago and did not want to remake it. Aslo, at the time it was more about not wanting to damage my gold ring because of the chemicals or equipment I worked with. I wanted to wear something rather then not have a ring on like many of my co-workers. No that I am in a office no big deal.
Oh wow, I'm actually quite impressed how shiny the titanium one was! Thank you! Will be going for titanium 🙏
From the beginning I already had a feeling that the left side was the Titanium

2020. These rings are excellent along with stainless steel and Tungsten are good quality rings with real diamonds
Just start watching at 4:12 he messed up and accidentally pointed which is the gold ring :D
Haha he did I noticed that too

Hello ser a have question tetanium is gold i means pornable or not?

I love rhodium-plated titanium. The shine is out of the world

Were did you buy the titanium ring from
Zales
i guess i do like the whiter look of the gold
You can spot titanium by it's dark, blackish hue, and white gold is usually coated with rhodium with a very White hue c:
I had my eye on exactly the same titanium ring on blue nile and its about $1,200. Where did you find it for only $50?
It was years ago, but I found it on sale online at Kay Jewelers (www.kay.com/en/kaystore/searchterm/titanium%20rings/true/titanium%20rings).
eBay
How much they cost booths of them and the height plz
Gold was around $700 USD titanium was $50.both are 6mm wide.
Pls suggest from where I can buy a titanium ring
I got mine from Zales.
How much price
Titanium was about $50usd.
I had a tungsten carbide and i dropped it alot and in my last drop it shattered . Really disappointed .
Next time buy one with nickel instead of cobalt and it wont happen
Tungsten carbide is basically a ceramic (ceram).
Thank you !
Only different, the gold at the pawm shop will give you a little more money.. I love my Tuscan and stainless steel
LOL I didn't know gold can rust! :/
Where did you purchase your titanium ring from?
Online from Zales.

@@DPL0Z of course not, but if you gonna get one, at least let the symbolism match 😉
I have a titanium ring so i could tell fron the start that it's the one on the left oh and spoiler alert😂
its less shiny than tungsten
Titanium is the best way to go.
Dude u can't tell in the video.. I love SS
I have like 9 or 10usa and 19.5 in Russia, Finland, Germany and Ukraine
Ring size
6mm looks pretty big on your fingers. I think 5mm would look better. Just saying...

Yes but for most it is hypo allergenic.

Holly T you're correct sir
confusing it with Tungsten Carbide... Hardness is against ductility
I think look beautifu....
