@RedWatcher the definition of a battle rifle in common firearm terms is a rifle chambered in .308 caliber and can be used across all uses. Such as longer range, heavy suppression, cqb, and other conditions. If you want to put your definition on it then anything if a fucking battle rifle
@@thisiconisactuallygoofysfa9960 You are right the m1 is not a battle rifle but that's not the definition either. Being full auto and firing a full power rifle cartridge is the only two things a rifle needs to be called one.
@RedWatcher No the M1 is not a battle rifle and it wasn't designed to kill anyone of any specific country of origin. It was designed to replace bolt actions primarily and obviously give our soldiers an edge over other countries which at the time had mostly bolt actions as standard issue rifles. At the time of the M1 Garand being developed and adopted by the army in 1936 we never even saw ourselves heading into war. Also I can't stand people who think AR-15 stands for assault rifle 15 so yes they need to be corrected it just makes anyone who says it sound like moron. Idk why you care so much you probably own one and it seems you are offended or something that the m1 Garand doesn't fit into the 'battle rifle' classification of weaponry which is silly. It's just a WW2 era self loading rifle that takes 8 round Enbloc clips nothing special about it these days besides it's history. I'll take my HK91 an actual battle rifle (otherwise known as a G3) over an M1 Garand any day but they are decent rifles still.
@RedWatcher I think you are confused battle rifle is a post WW2 term used to describe full auto guns that use full sized rifle cartridges and use detachable magazines. The M1 is not in the battle rifle classification of firearms. The M1 is a self-loading rifle, that's what they are called when they don't have a selector switch.
As a DMR, it was great. As a sniper rifle, well… apparently the M1 Garand had some accuracy issues beyond 500 yards anyway, so adding a scope will only give the shooter a better chance to hit at 500-600 yards but not much more. It’s a great rifle and I honestly wish my M1 had a Scope rail. ❤
thats not so much true. the iron sights will typically limit effective range, as with any battlefield rifle. they were very rarely equipped with a scope in any major war. when equipped with a scope and decent enough grade ammunition theyre extremely accurate
Late post but i noticed your telescope reticle has a cant to it that occurs when you tighten the mount. I have a M1D and the scope twists to a cant as you tighten the allen screws.
Muy bueno el M-1DGarand de Francotirador pero no tan preciso como el Springfield M-1903 de cerrojo manual.eso si más munición y rapidez de disparo que el Springfield M-1903 pero precisión..... ahí tiene menos desde luego.
The D was produced after ww2, it was meant to be a scout type rifle, even at the time most knew that bolt action model 70 or m40 was leaps and bounds more accurate, we’re also talking about a time where sniping in general was revolutionized by Carlos hathcock, innovation during the vietnam war is what got us the Barrett .50 cool stuff
How was the offset with the scope as opposed to iron sights? Beautiful rifle. My Grandfather used it in The War and it was the first rifle I ever fired. I'm ordering one from CMP.
ONE of the greatest battle rifles EVER MADE.
Not a battle rifle

Nice rifle.
Indeed!
That reticle is so sweet!
Unfortunately it actually sucks pretty bad
I have a similar m21 that I love, gave her a name and everything
This is fire 🔥
😁

What a cool, cool, gun
Yep! And my friend did the conversion on this one, he just had a gunsmith put a M1D barrel on a M1 Garand CMP special
Scope limits, too bad🪖🫡
I want one!
I love my C and D m1
😁🍻
Same! I have an original sight and mount but I am running a reproduction like this M82 to save the wear and tear on the M84. Smart move IMHO.
Hello Kent! Do you mind giving me some guidance on how to find an M1C?
That's a great sniper rifle. I own the Lee Enfield Second World War sniper rifle.
A arma perfeita para um sniper nao exis.....😮❤
Cool

Yes, very true
Pretty cool and unique. Vintage M1's aren't really known for outstanding accuracy. Not enough to be considered a "sniper rifle" at least.

M1 owner here, what would you prefer, a "lateral mount" or a "scout mount"? Thanks in advance!

Awesome! Hope you get a good one from them. Even though the scope is offset, it isn’t so bad
Now before you comment, m1d came out just before korean war
So if your a lefty your just screwed?😂 In all seriousness I love the way the M1 looks with a scope.
That scope holds that M1 back so bad
show de bola ,,rifles são show
Perpect gun
How did you get it my uncle has my great grandpa’s garand
This one was originally from the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program). My friend adapted it to be a sniper
Sorry nospeak English nice nice very very very nice❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
thankyou My to
How is aiming since the scope is off to the side?
It’s weird but not too bad. I haven’t shot it at long range and I’m sure some parallax would play a factor in accuracy
M1 owner here, what would you prefer, a "lateral mount" or a "scout mount"? Thanks in advance!
Right handed😭
is that how the real croshairs looked like in ww2 garands?
It was one pattern of crosshair site that I believe was used after WW2
How did you get the C variant of the Garand?
This is the D sniper model. The Civilian Marksmanship Program may still have some C models available in store only
@@BattlefieldCurator ah my bad but thank you for the clarification
Now kill the music and give the real fire sound.
🇺🇸💥M1D CMP M1903 Bolt Action Rifle Range Test 😁 #collectibles #militarysurplus
So did you hit anything no
We need gun firing sound not the music
Ping !!
😁
Be careful shooting modern hunting ammo in an m1 it’s loaded a lot hotter
No BGM
No original sound, no like 🤷🏻♀️
There’s another one with sound
Fuck
Ping!!
