- Lesotho, a high-altitude, landlocked kingdom encircled by South Africa,
Lesotho is a small kingdom landlocked in the gigantic territory of South Africa. Among the poorest in the world, this high country has breathtaking landscapes, but above all it has a rare and precious asset in Africa: water. During the long winter months, the country is covered with snow and in the middle of the peeled mountains, there is even a ski slope very popular with South Africans. LESOTHO is crisscrossed by a network of rivers and mountain ranges including the 3,482m-high peak of Thabana Ntlenyana. On the Thaba Bosiu plateau, near Lesotho's capital, Maseru, are ruins dating from the 19th-century reign of King Moshoeshoe I. Thaba Bosiu overlooks iconic Mount Qiloane, an enduring symbol of the nation’s Basotho people.

This video was very educational and very impressive. Nuff respect to the tour guide in the Lesotho city he was amazingly charming and knowledgeable. When he said that his people originated in Egypt I started to put together the pieces regarding the River Nile connecting to Victoria Falls, and how water is the source of life for humans and cattle alike and a necessary attraction for nomads throughout history. Is Egypt next?

Dumela! Lovely content of beautiful Lesotho with good cultural information. To us in Zambia, BOMA now stands for a government administrative town or authority & the term is also used in reference to police officers authority or to government in general. It’s a term adopted from the colonial masters meaning: BRITISH OVERSEAS MANAGEMENT(or Military) ADMINISTRATION. In Zimbabwe’s Victoria falls town, there’s a famous dinning & entertainment restaurant called the BOMA where tourists people go to eat & be entertained.
