Patty and Cathy have a slumber party at their house for some of their girlfriends. The Richard, Henry, Tom and another boy show up at the door, before the party starts. Little brother Ross tapes the girls' conversations during the party and uses it for blackmail against Patty and Cathy. I haven’t seen these shows in 60 years, but I’m binge watching them now. What strikes me is how good Paul O’Keefe is. Other than Billy Mumy, he might have been the best and most professional young actor on TV in the early sixties (and there were a lot of them!)
I never truly appreciated his work till now

I feel the same way. He's a natural. Another one, who was only used in maybe one season, was Jimmy Garrett on The Lucy Show, the kid who played her son Jerry. He was rather good, and they often gave him wonderful lines that he delivered better than Jack Benny might have (like when he's about to go to bed after having enough of his mother and Aunt Viv's singing: "I don't know when I've spent such a boring evening.")

There is a brief Seinfeld reference in an episode of that sitcom, The Understudy, that gives a little wink to the theme song of this classic show. It's in the one that satires the whole Tonya Harding figure skating scandal; Jerry's actress girlfriend keeps crying at small things, like dropping a hot dog on the ground, and doesn't cry at big things. She gets a telegram about a grandmother's death and she's not bothered a bit, and Jerry says, "But a hot dog makes you lose control". I love little nods like that which only certain people will "get".

I remember "slumber parties." That's what we called them in the 1960's and 1970's. When did they start calling them "sleepovers?"
And why did the term slumber parties change to be called sleepovers?
