Like Bette said, it's about time! I'm a child of the 70s, but ... Darlene has always been a voice for all generations. Happy 77th birthday, Darlene , when it comes xxx

Glad she got in. My mom's favorite female singer. Glad my mom saw her get in the RRHOF before she passed. Same with the Ronettes.

I would have to say for me, in the last 10 yrs, there hasn't been a more deserved induction. Truth be told, she should've been inducted YEARS BEFORE 2011. Lets be honest, the voices that really stand out and do damage (in a good way) are usually the voices that no one else can copy..and she has one of those voices. Ive listened to most of her "Specter material" with the different groups that she fronted. But if you want to know the true measure of her talent, all you have to do is listen to the first 5 albums or so, of Luther Vandross's solo work...those albums rank among the greatest r&b albums, ever produced...they are glossy and they crack with lush strings and synthesizer and bass, that will rattle your teeth.
But at the core of those albums, are 2 voices that you hear so clearly, you almost wonder if it really is solo work by Luther himself. There behind him on background vocals, are two of the greatest session singers who ever lived: Cissy Houston and Darlene Love...Cissy's soprano wrapped around Darlene's creamy alto. And its true what she said about Luther not bothering to record without Cissy and Darlene, in his shadow when he walked thru the door to work. He didnt negotiate that either...it was a demand that he put on his engineers and producers. For his first 5 or 6 albums, he simply refused to do albums, without the background vocals of Cissy and Darlene...and they both made triple scale, without blinking an eye.

It’s ridiculous that Bette Midler hasn’t ever been nominated for the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Should’ve been inducted years ago.

    I've ALWAYS loved Ms. Love.
It's a shame that Phil Spector turned out to be a murderer.
