I LOVE A Month In the Country by JL Carr. It doesn’t get any love on booktube. It’s a short novel set in a small English town after WWI and it’s so gorgeous- I re-read it every year. Also- Return of the Soldier by Rebecca West. The last page GUTTED me but I wouldn’t change a word.
So, we apparently have the same taste as many of the books you mentioned i have read or are on my shelves to be read. REALLY glad to hear about Liz Moore The Unseen World. I feel as if many people are talking "Liz Moore lately " and although I read her follow up books and thought they were fine, The Unseen World was PHENOMINAL and I hope more people will seek it out!
@@deborahmink5159 I really want to read God of the Woods but I agree, none of her books after The Unseen World seem to have the same punch. I’m so confused why that one never got the love it deserved!
@jacksontalley God of the Woods on lots of best of lists. I thought it was a decent mystery thriller, but a little muddy, not at all as unique or interesting as The Unseen World.
Well, I own Of Mice and Men, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, The Grapes of Wrath, The Goon Squad but haven’t read them. Love The Secret History, My Antonia, The Hours, the Goldfinch. ❤ I read only half of A Confederacy. I love Strout. I must get my grubby hands on Long Island Compromise. I’m still not done with The Bee Sting and I don’t want it to end!!
I'll second that. Both books such classics that need more love 😍
A great collection!

@@AK-gl6wm I need to check that one out. Feeling gutted by a book is the best! And so rare too.
