Powerful truths discussed in this conversation. Sharing this on social media with hope that the people who need to hear it (young trans identifying people and the therapists and enablers) will hear it. Your voices are so important because currently, in Canada, under the guise of prohibiting “conversion therapy,” Bill C-8 makes it a criminal offence for parents to help their own gender-confused children find peace in accepting their biological gender. Thank you both for sharing your hard-earned wisdom and dedication to speaking the truth.

Everyone has regret. Even if not for the same reasons. Even if someone didn't make a permanent change to their body they could have made decisions that permanently changed their life. It could have been that something they had no control of permanently changed the course of their life. The one thing that is a given is that as long as we are breathing we can work toward being at peace.
The conversation that you're having is so precious. There are so many different platforms devoted to trans, but your platform is perhaps the most honest. You really focus on the spiritual and ontological aspects of the journey. I have watched quite a few channels where the transitioners boast about living their best life. And all I can think as I watch them is "Who are you? Why are you hiding?" There are so many young people following this and the medical establishment is rubber stamping transitions. They are also forcing the rest of us to normalize what is abominable. Maybe that was not the case when you initially began your journey, but it is most definitely an agenda that while certainly profit driven, is also spiritual. Both of you are incredibly brave. You weave a beautiful fabric of hope, strength and resilience. Very much needed.
Thank you so much for your comment. I'm very happy to know that you get what I've done with this channel. All we can be is ourselves and that seems the most difficult work of all but in truth, is the most effortless.
I love this conversation. "We all live with the consequences of being alive." Yes. We do not have to transition to feel the truth of this. I tried on different religions--evangelical Christianity, Messianic Judaism, Catholicism, trying to figure out where I fit in this world. Then came deconstruction where I began to let go of all the outer expressions and rituals and beliefs to begin to get to the heart of who I am beyond all of that. You don't know that you are just wearing different suits, identifying as a suit, until something starts to tear it away, and we see the skin beneath.

I had to work my way up to this one, I am reading the Sex, Science and the Self by Bob Osterhag. It makes me very angry that in early research it was seen as unethical to experiment on hormones so they sought out people with DSDs to observe. Now they are experimenting on MY SON and a load of other vulnerable subjects. I disagree with people criticising people for being afraid to go back on testosterone post surgery. The language of “authentic” self is being fed to our kids. They are all saying it from the U.K., across the western world. Even the language is not authentic it’s a script.
Well said Tish......It is a script, as I said in this video, one repeated in the environment of ideas, media, entertainment and education... unavoidable and most definitely unhelpful .

It needs to be explained to those who advocate a compulsory detransitioning policy that a compulsory detransitioning policy is inappropriate.

I've experienced both kinds of regret. I lived for many years stuck in regret that crushed me - it stayed all dammed up with no resolution but as my journey takes me closer to acceptance, the regret is brutal but now the dam is open and it can flow through and out leading to peace.

Question- why go through all the hassle of detransitioning, especially after all the surgeries? Was living as a woman really that bad?
We are prosecuting some men who practice eunuch surgeries and supporting /promoting it for NHS Surgeons.

Hi Sam. Just a thought. There is a place in everyone's life, where, like Paul the apostle, who was a murderer, we 'forget what is behind and strain on to what is ahead'. He was able to do that because he stopped self -referencing in relation to his past and, instead, understood that all of his actions in his body are in reference to God, requiring forgiveness and justification and reconciliation to God, by God, that only comes from God. It's from God's view of us that we view ourselves. Wholeness of body is not required, but only the holiness, the separation, without which, we won't see God. In Jesus, we are separated to him, and He thoroughly represents us permanently, like a fortress and a strong tower, keeping us and maintaining the safety we all require. We are received. Bless you bro.

This is one of the most thought provoking, honest and captivating conversations I have ever heard.
We live with the consequences of our sin nature that we inherited from Adam. Every one of us whether we are trans or not has to live with the consequences of our sin and the consequences of other people’s sin upon our lives. That’s why we need a Savior, Jesus. We don’t have to beat ourselves up because He took it for us when He died on that cross. He took our sin on Himself, and in exchange, he gave us His righteousness, so that when we stand before God someday we won’t be ashamed, because the price was paid in full.
If we live in a world were love abouñded we wont be lidening to this. Stop preaching and love

@@elainevanhuis8373The thing is that human love is so limited. No matter how much we love someone, we end up hurting them in one way or another. And no matter how much we are loved by another human, we're going to get hurt at some point. I am not orthodox in religion, and I'm afraid of the narrow mindedness of religious dogma (which Jesus criticised himself), but I acknowledge that we require something greater than us, we can call it grace, in order to transcend our imperfect love into its perfected version.

In the beginning of your video (around 13:28) I really appreciate that you, Sam, brought in the beautiful and insightful poetry of David Whyte to illustrate a point. I regret that your guest did not appreciate that and completely bulldozed over your thoughts with a very crass response. I think he completely missed the point and has not connected to poetry in the same way that you have. David Whyte is an extraordinary source of wisdom and I’m sorry that not enough people are paying attention.
I feel a great warmth toward Cori. Our conversations can be challenging because we are so different .

Devasting ignorance about how body-mind-soul complex system works. But people love illusions and some sort of quickly solutions. Who I am is not the first question. But how I works, and where my machine and me (soul), we are balanced together. It's difficult but is necessary.The past situations are not the key of all suffering because im looking for another new me, with respect, for my basic costitution.The focus is balance, and the magic of our soul. In others words awereness. peace and love.

I realize that this is a year later and I have so many questions. Especially a bout the medical and Therapeutic community. I am a therapist myself and I am always looking for more understanding.

not knowing a thing about any of this.....i was given testosterone in minimal dose as a woman and found it intolerable. my sex drive became unbearable and i stopped almost immediately ....that stuff is very very very powerful.
Remember Sam your brain is now completely adapted to your present condition. if you do go on testosterone expect a lot of drastic changes in your emotions

Sam, opposing views on this topic are essential. The last thing needed is yet another echo chamber.
I had a hysterectomy more than 20 years ago due to severe endometriosis. Everything removed. I’ve not taken any HRT in 99.9% of that time and no doctor has questioned that. I find that particularly egregious and inexcusable considering the current situation especially.

Oh please, we’re dealing with reality here in a broken world. We are all broken in one way or another. Some of us just don’t want to admit it. How can you feel compassion and empathy for someone if you don’t listen to their story? At least appreciate the courage it takes for them to be so vulnerable.
