May Allah continue to uphold you Sister Nai'ma B Robert. You're doing an amazing job, bringing these topical issues to the forefront. We need to talk about these issues and not pretend like they aren't affecting our Ummah, one way or another.

Thank you Hakeemah, “keeping my lane” So relatable. Even outside of the fashion industry, as muslim, women, and black engineers, we are trying hard to keep our lane as well. May Allah make it easy on all of us! May our daughters grow up and not to have to keep their lane for the sake of representation.🙏🏾

The essence of wearing the hijab comes into my worship of Allah, I show up each day in my hijab to worship Allah alone, and I submit my will to the will of Allah by wearing my hijab, but, I am not perfect, ONLY Allah is Perfect. Excellent selection of panel members and discussion.

Masha Allah tabarakAllah...the hijab superpower at the end summed it all up for me...I understand that they would be thinking in terms of our confidence and resilience of showing up everyday despite the hate against hijabs. May Allah ease our affairs🤲

I’m a revert as of 2010 and I can tell
That the hijab is a major struggle for me. I have no clue how to tie it without my hair coming out and without it turning all the way around 😔I struggle and also being plus size struggle to cover properly , abayas aren’t cheap also( for plus size ladies). This makes me sometimes think about giving up the hijab.

Sometimes, praying salah can get difficult and challenging, similarly, hijab too can get challenging. We just have to remind ourselves that like praying salah, hijab too is a form of worship to God. After all this temporary world is meant to test us, and our true home is in the afterlife! May Allah make it easy for us all, and may Allah bless us with the best of this life and the best of the life after! Ameen!

Can I suggest wearing a jilbab. I buy abaya from east essence. I'm not sure where u are located. But in Sydney Jilbabs are everywhere. They require no pins and messing around just throw them over ur head and ur good to go. They are very modest alhamdolilah and they also come with sleeves if you prefer.
Check them out perhaps via Modelle website. There are many other places too.
In the UK I know jilbab can mean something different. Everyone seems to use different terminology.

JazakunnAllahu khayr, its the best Hijab talk i've ever heard. EVERY SISTER made so valid points.
    To what @Shaykha Fatima said:
I want to encourage sisters who are not on instagram NOT to be active there. My reason is the same reason of the ones encouraging you to do so, to be a rolemodel there. When i see an islamic teacher and she is on social media with her personality (not just launcing activities, whats another thing) i would loose my confident in not using it. And what would we tell our young generation? Not to use it, but you are on that platform yourself? Even if you knowledgable sisters use it in a proper way, the young people will use it without your guidlines. They just see, ok, the shaykha is using it, there is nothing wrong, so i will use it.

Omg I love Elisa! Masha Allah I can listen to her tell stories all day. Subhan Allah I just finished the entire video and this was a much needed conversation and the commentary was amazing Masha Allah lol. As Sister Na’ima mention it’s the “Platform”, for me that’s the root problem and I think it’s toxic in many instances. Yes! There are positives on these platforms but I don’t believe they out weigh the negatives. It took me over a year to get on socials to promote my business because of my “fear” of falling into anything that’s displeasing to Allah (swt). As I am growing my platforms now, I post what I need to post and sometimes I linger to support other businesses that it’s in my industry then I get off so I don’t allow desires to seep through. This is a journey for everyone and May Allah protect us all on these platforms and keep our intentions pure. JhazakAllahu Khayrun Sisters!

It’s better to keep doing good even if you don’t feel like whether or not you’re doing it for the sake of Allah (authentic) and keep praying to Allah to give us that authenticity RATHER than doing away with doing that good deed and waiting for that feeling to come to you because that is another trick of shaytan.
One of the sisters made a good point that as sisters trying to stay online for a good cause should take the responsibility to sturdy Islam and trade, otherwise ignorance is not an excuse and knowing that Allah will ask us about our earnings and HE (Allah) knows what we reveal and what we conceal.

Only in Southern Nigeria are Muslim sisters being discriminated against by wearing Hijab

    • @TheSustainabilityEducator
      @TheSustainabilityEducator Год назад

But there's a huge population of women in the south who have to choose daily between pursuing their dreams and using the hijab. Both should coexist. I used to live in the South and now I am in the North. Even in the North, some businesses still discriminate against Muslims in hijab. Schoos for example

Modern society is based on imagery……encouraging people to endeavour to mimic/copy images and or personas. As Muslims we don’t follow or apply such imagery to guide or cause us to adopt behaviours such as code of dress. We use the advice and guidance of Allah swt only Alhamdulilah which negates the necessity to follow/ adopt/ interpret images portrayed in the society we live.
Allah swt named parts of our body as awrah………parts of the body that can be on display in specific ways at specific times……..And that is an instruction to both men and women. Both men and women have awrah, but the awrah for the woman is different to the man. This then dictates how we dress in private and public both men and women.
May Allah help all Muslims to understand how and why we dress as we do and as thus gain Allahs pleasure and reward in this life and the next Insha’Allah.

Niqab itself is not sunnah ie.recommended for a Muslim woman to wear……it is a choice ie. Mubah in Islamic law for an individual.
The compulsory Hijab is either 1 piece that goes from head to toe or 2 peices as in a scarf (khimar) and loose coat (jilbab), both covering the ‘everyday wear’ underneath.
Niamah mentioned niqab is ‘levels’ …….. it’s a choice (without judgement), although if a husband asks his wife to wear it she has to oblige.
