I’m not a Christian, but I don’t have to be one to recognize that this might just be art in its purest and most sincere form. I can hear the belief in his voice, see it in his eyes, his faith. And I truly respect that.
Your absolutely right you don’t have to be a Christian to express appreciation for art just as you don’t have to be an atheist to walk into an art gallery and find appreciation for the art displayed on the wall. But this is more than just appreciating of art. This is about re-establishing a relationship with the artist. The artist who not only speaks through His art but redeems it, satisfies it and walks with it. This is the essence of what it means to be human being to be in relationship with the one who gave it us our being. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:1-5
Crimson, I pray you search out the truth. The greatest sacrifice was made by God Himself for the sins of the world through Jesus the Christ. He willingly laid down His life to atone for the sins of ALL of us- when He never sinned. Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. All have sinned and broken God's commandments and all are unworthy to enter the kingdom of God without being cleansed of all unrighteousness. It's the righteousness of the Son of God- Jesus, that God sees in us at Judgment and not our own good works. To be right with God, we must repent, humble ourselves before God, cry out to the Lord and earnestly seek Him while He may be found. It's too late when we die. Seek Him friend.
God bless you and I pray that soon you’ll come to the knowledge that Jesus loves you and that he died on the cross for you so that you don’t have to go to hell if you ask for forgiveness and repent of your sins and finally make him your Lord🙏🏾 he loved you before he created the world and he wants a relationship with you he brought me from a living hell and my life is amazing!💓 God bless you

I was watching a video which talks about something about "The problem with the Christian music" and one of the recommendations of good and authentical Christian music was Josh Garrels... This song is so unpredictable. Awesome!
This song makes me feel nostalgic and introspective. Josh I believe the Lord has anointed you to reach the lost and the broken in this world in a way that a lot of people are unable. Bless you as you write, sing and play for the Glory of the Father!
We are all anointed to preach the Gospel, but the Lord has anointed us all in different ways. Not everyone is anointed to share the truth through songs. David was anointed in a way that brought Peace to Saul, not everyone in Israel had that same anointing.
We all have anointing(1 John 2:20), there are different gifts and talents, but we all have the same anointing. In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was on the people, and that is not relevant to the New Testament, where the Spirit is in the people. He functioned differently. NT never speaks of different levels of anointing or different anointings. Sorry, but that WOF/Pentecostal doctrine is just not true.

I loved my ex (a lot), but she broke the trust in the relationship. It was really hard to let her go, but I had to. This realization came when I was on a long term stay in Hawaii, 4000 miles away from home. I remember listening to this on the way back, and it just completely fit where my head was at.. flying back to say goodbye to her. Two years later I still think about that girl, but I know God has a plan for me. Heartbreak teaches us many things... Much love people.
Thank God for independent artists who are smart enough to stay far away from the corporate puppeteer machine of cheesy Christian pop music. God does not live in a box. Josh Garells is my go to on iTunes. When people ask what my favorite song is, I pull up an entire album.
Yeah Josh Garrels, has been a huge inspiration musically to me. I've heard it said that if we as Christians claim to worship the God of all creation, should we not (as those made in the image of God) reflect in some way that infinite creativity in our endeavors. Certainly in music and Christian art. In my opinion.
Salvation is not about religion, Salvation is not a church, Salvation is a one on one personal relationship with Jesus Christ. give up the world and give in to Jesus.
Until yesterday I was on holiday in Denmark with friends, when I heard that the health of my beloved grandma deteriorated quite rapidly. Yesterday I took the long way home on a train, to see her one last time. After the long day spent in the train, I could spend some time with her in the evening, hold her hand, say goodbye. About an hour after I left her last night she passed away with my mother holding her. This morning I put on some music on shuffle and this song came on and I had to cry. You are loved, dear grandma.
this album gave me hope when I was in teen challenge rehab, when I had lost all the things of this world but gained our Lord and savior. thank you josh, glory be to God.
Im agnostic, but for 7 years, I have been coming back to Josh Garrel's music. When I found him, my gf and I were going through a dark time in our lives. Coming back now that things are better, something about the music and the message touches down deep into my soul. You don't even have to be a Christian to feel spirtually connected to this. This is art.
I had no idea this was 'Christian music'... found it out from all of the comments. - I've been listening to this song on repeat for about 2 hours now. We will all hear what we want to hear. The truth. What a beautiful song that speaks to all of us.
It’s truly an amazing song. Thank you for not judging it just because it’s a song about faith. I respect your beliefs, but i still hope you find the truth and that you are saved through Jesus. God bless you, hope you are doing well
@@edgarmiranda1822 🥰 Jesus is the missing piece in you! Nothing or no one can fill this void in your soul but Him…“Wherefore, even as the Holy Ghost saith, Today if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts” {Hebrew 3:7-8}
Exactly, I’ve got a Christian friend who recommended me this and shit man, I’m not sure if I’m crying because of the song or because I’ve been playing video games for 3 hours.
I just discovered this song. Man have I been missing out. Anyway in my spirit I felt that he's singing from the prodigal sons perspective. He came back to the father thinking that the father would not accept him due to his sin and turn him away. Hence the words to see you one more time, to hold you and say goodbye. Has anyone else felt this way or am I way off?
Nah I felt the same way. One of my favorite Josh Garrels songs (At The Table) is about the prodigal son, and these lyrics kind of remind me of that song - maybe that's why.

Such a great song ! Not a Christian here, even if I believe in the supreme (but it’s all understood). I have just read about « the problem with CCM ». The subject is completely unknown here, in Europe / France. The life is not a long quiet river, Christian or not. This kind of music and lyrics help me to pass threw difficulties. It pushes me to try becoming a better man in my everyday life.
I think the difference between being a Christian and not is that while the sea is rough for all people alike, Jesus throws you a life vest in case you fall off the boat so you don't sink into the abyss. And then after your voyage you go home to a beautiful place of incorruption to dine an unimaginable feast with all the best of your friends, including Him :) and the joy and peace lasts eternally. But the journey is not easy, in fact much harder for the real Christians because we suffer as Christ did (denying the flesh and the things of this world), for His Name's sake. HalleluYah!

Oh heavenly father my Lord Jesus Christ forgive my ways, and my stupidity. I am lost and so want to be found. Once walked a straight line now I weave all over. I wish I felt strong but I feel as if I am withering away. I need you so much in my life. But cannot sense you no more. It breaks every piece of me. My tears I cry and my heart bleeds for you. I miss you. Forgive me for my ignorance and my blind ways. You say to Love with all of your heart but when I do it gets thrown back crushed.
Father’s hands work the ground Turns the soil, lays it down This speaks of our Father in Heaven tilling the soil of stony hearts or fallow ground to give us a heart of flesh. It speak of how he works in our the soil of our hearts to make it soil where his word can grow and take root. This is something we can't do on our own. He draws us before we even know how badly we need him. So that we might be like trees plant by a stream. -Psalm 1. Praise my Father in Heaven who loved me and sent his son Jesus so I could have a relationship with him. For he is my reward and portion. All glory and honor to my Father in Heaven through Jesus Christ my Lord.
+namron019 I have to say I don't see this alluding to our Father in Heaven when I read/hear those words. What really resonates with me is an earthly father and son relationship and how earthly fathers should bless their sons! This is for you, FATHERS! When you read the whole passage, the admonition is to lift your voices high... because your words are like a heritage passed to your sons. For those who are fathers, this probably resonates with you. Your words/interactions with your sons is like a farmer turning the soil.... it's a beautiful word picture. And as he says, your efforts with your sons will outlive you.
I heard this song for the first time while traveling the south island of New Zealand. It was extra amazing travelling through the mountains. Keep doing what you do Josh! It's very much appreciated.
I really appreciate how all the songs on the CD work so well with each other. Really if you actually want music that brings the essence of "home," you have to listen to the CD in its entirety. I think it's an album that's truly from the heart, and it's very much needed. I usually listen to techno, but I can SING this entire album, and for me that's saying a lot. When I first heard the album I thought "huh, I'm not sure what to think." But boy did the heart win me over--and it's one of, if not my favorite album now. So Josh, or anyone connected with making this album(if you actually read this): Thank you. Thank you for sharing your heart, and a piece of your home with us. It has encouraged me in times I just wanted to feel at home, and at times I simply wanted to rejoice to the Lord. You are a gift that I continually appreciate.
Josh, me & my wife just came across your music. Very good, unique, original, anointed! Modern day poetic. Keep following His leading man! Just wanted to encourage you!
This so directly spoke to my family situation, with my brothers. And parents. From the wild grass grown high, on the road between our lives, (separated and distant) to a heritage (Christian) passed along, to the sons (5 of us) like a blessed song. All in the context of saying goodbye. It's ridiculous how much of this song is applicable. I'd say more but it's not my place, and we are still in the midst of it all. It's a word for our family at this time.
Oh man, truth has been sowed into this song from head to toe. The one line “Heritage passed along” really spoke to me. Salvation is our inheritance from the father. I can’t find where it says what I’m thinking exactly, but I know it’s in the book of Hebrews. Beautiful, beautiful song.
His music reaches deep into my soul. I have been hoping and praying for truly wonderful music which also carries the resonance of the spirit to the listener. Josh’s is it and hopefully just the beginning. Like sustenance to a spiritually impoverished world.
This song reminds me of my Grandpa Lane who passed away about 2 years ago. I was at work and my youngest sister came to tell me with my first cousin that he was really sick and that we had to leave as soon as possible. We flew to Detroit from MSP, and got there about 3 hours before he passed. Thanks to God who rescued Josh Garrels, and has given him this amazing talent to encourage the Christian brother and sisters on this journey we have here on earth. I'll always remember my Grandpa Bill who grew on a dirt poor farm in SE MIssouri, and made a new life and family in the Detroit area. He was a southern gentleman and is greatly missed. See you in the bye and bye Grandpa!

This Song inspired me to write a Song again for My Father in Heaven, you lost your Way when you Lost your Why. Iam Here to be conformed to the Image of His Son Jesus. One Line out of that Song is : I was working for your Favor not Grace thats why I'am broken in My Works like filty rags , My Saviors Spirit fills the cracks and the whole inside, Lord I have a feeling like a Lost My Way and there is a hole inside , you really gave your Life to make me whole Inside , You are My Why thats Why I didn't lost my way even if My Why means that I lose my Life.
Very emotive. The scenery shots were just breathtaking; well done 5AM films! Of course, I love the song to; kudos to you Josh Garrels; I can identify with the feeling of being a long, long way off from home. Would love to hear you collaborate with Jetty Rae :)
Losing my brother in law has been so hard on me and listening to this beautiful piece of art again, filled me up with so many emotions. Knowing that he's never coming home breaks me. He's a long way from home and I just wish it didn't have to be this way.
Been playing this song more than a few times - thinking about life. I turn 53 tomorrow and my kids really don’t know me. It’s my fault I’m sure. Father forgive me please.

And as he says, your efforts with your sons will outlive you.
namron019 Amen!
Interesting interpretation. Like the bible the song may be on more than one level . K
AMEN Glory To God in The highest!!!! 🙏✝️
Well said brother. Jesus Christ is my hope, he showed me grace when all I deserve is hell.
I heard this song for the first time while traveling the south island of New Zealand. It was extra amazing travelling through the mountains. Keep doing what you do Josh! It's very much appreciated.
On the radio?
You are a gift that I continually appreciate.
a very big thanks from France, Josh!
Finally some Christian music that isnt a brainless, repetitive, uncreative mess. This has TRUE emotions and meaning behind it 👏👏👏
Best mistake I ever had, was looking up good music and stumbling upon you and john. Lol. See you soon brother!
Oh man. I'm speechless! That was perfection.
Wow! It is a gift to be able to give a 30,000 foot view along with a microscopic view in the same song. The peculiar ones will get this!
Lord, forgive me for not putting you first and help me fight my demons I can't do it without you.
Amazing Music. Josh I am so glad that the lord let me find you. Keep up your amazing job. Awsom, simply awsom.
Josh is just talented...thank God for artists like him...he brings a certain kind of flavour with his work. Fan.

The Parable of the Prodigal Son is one of my favorite stories ever.
WOW. I was introduced to Josh Garrels music from the song White Owl from a game trailer and I am not hooked. What an amazing voice.

This Song inspired me to write a Song again for My Father in Heaven, you lost your Way when you Lost your Why.
Iam Here to be conformed to the Image of His Son Jesus. One Line out of that Song is :
I was working for your Favor not Grace thats why I'am broken in My Works like filty rags ,
My Saviors Spirit fills the cracks and the whole inside, Lord I have a feeling like a Lost My Way and there is a hole inside , you really gave your Life to make me whole Inside , You are My Why thats Why I didn't lost my way even if My Why means that I lose my Life.

Well what are doing buddy! Go be Dad AGAIN! ✴️💪❤️

“I like the night. Without the dark, we'd never see the stars.”
If It Wasnt for the Stars You Would Have No Darkness
Thank the Light For that
You Don't Need The Dark To See The Light
You Need The Light To See The Dark
