When I first had my (ischemic) cerebellar stroke, I told the therapists my goal was to get back to line dancing again. Once I realized the residual effects on my balance, my goal is to WALK again without looking like a drunken toddler. Dancing is not the priority anymore, just like her 6 minute mile. It’s only 2 months so maybe someday…
Yes I have the hand tremor too. Also yes, people just expect you to improve day by day, and they don’t know what to do if it’s not happening like that.
Patience, positivity, persistence, and perception. 😊😊 May you shine your flashlight on a million smiles! I too have read dozens of books on neuroplasticity, stroke recovery, goal setting, and positivity (creating positive change). Good luck and thank you for my new mantra!

Stroke recovery is a long game.

It’s a great mantra.
God bless you, Elizabeth, your story has been inspirational to me as a new stroke survivor.

Thank you. I needed to hear her. I had the same kind of stroke.
You are so welcome. How is your recovery coming along?
Slow but still trying !
THANKYOU
Thank you too!
