Stallord may be my personal favorite boss of the game, but as far as the total package goes, you can't beat Argorok. This boss fight had EVERYTHING. From fighting a giant flying armored dragon. To battling on top of an ancient temple in the sky surrounded by an abyss. To the weather turning into a terrible wind-filled thunderstorm. To the epic and frantic boss music. To soaring around in the sky at a fast pace on your clawshots. To the epic victorious tune that plays every time you hook onto Argorok's back and slash into him.......this fight had it all.
I dunno man, to me Argonok gives off the vibe of "we put a dragon in the game with full enthusiasm, but came up with the gameplay mechanics half-heartedly." Climbing up the towers to get to the dragon's level is fine, but everything else sorta... feels deflated since Argonok just hovers in the center. I accept that we can't have the Hyrule Warriors thing where he bears down on you and your army like a fiery god, but can't he at least circle the arena like a bird of prey? Take potshots with fireballs to incentive you to climb fast?
Valmo Aival yeah and to think the game never tells that. This element weaknesses were implemented way earlier like in OoT or MM and got popular in BotW.
The Zora Armor is also weak to ice attacks. You will take tons of damage if you get hit by a Chillfos in the Snowpeak Ruins. The armor is also weak to lava. If you fall into it, it’s an instant game over.
i won't lie, this game had a few iconic boss battles. As a kid I couldn't appreciate those boss fight mechanics, but as am experienced gamer now, I can say how I appreciate Zelda boss battles now.
1 thing they could have done to make the botw boss battles better is to have just added KEY items that never break or have a cool down, that you NEED to follow the bosses strategy, let down cuz all 4 blights, kohga, calamity Ganon , and beast Ganon all have the same REALLY easy strat of shoot it with an arrow to stun them, when they stunned attack and hope your weapons last thru the fight And some ppl might like that new approach but me as a long time Zelda fan loved that about past dungeons and bosses how the items just fit in so well to the dungeon open world and bosses, not gonna lie tho the runes are fucking awesome
But this boss fight was dogshit, stallord was way better, once you know what to do to fight these bosses, in case you are replaying the game, it's super boring to just do the same shit over again, that's my biggest issue with tlz it's not really fun to replay these games because the puzzles are fun but doing them all over again is just so boring, this game gotta be the best zelda in my oppinion because when i replayed it, it wans't as easy as the other games
I did a no Z target, no damage during bosses run of TP and having to use motion controls to get from pea hat to pea hat and outpace the fire was the most intense Zelda experience of my life.
Bardwayer I’m bad at video games and didn’t realize you could z-target the peahats at first. I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of how freaking hard it is to do this using just motion controls, I had to climb these towers way too many times before I figured it out.
@@trahnettilhcs Same. I found this video to see how to do it because I didn't know I could z-target with the double hookshot and kept getting blasted while swinging from each one. I was losing my mind.
I want a remake of twilight princess in an open world. Having the full overworld covered in twilight and choosing what area to save first. The dungeons would have to be reworked to be able to go to said dungeon in any order, while still using the dungeon item exclusively. Or temporarily lock the areas you can go to and make the story more linear like in TP, while retaining the open world. Once you have the twilight removed you can explore the world in its entirety.
Only other time he did this was with volvagia in ocarina of time. And before someone corrects me, yes I know there’s one other dragon boss in the series, I’m just only familiar with the 3D games
@rael-albertCome to think of it, roughly 4 to 5 years before the release of Twilight Princess, a different series also made by Nintendo had a three headed dragon as the final boss. There was a two headed dragon as well, actually. Nintendo really loves fantasy stuff, don’t they?
To be fair dragon fights are a staple in the zelda series. The OG, 2, Ocarina, Seasons, Minish Cap, Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the kingdom all have some form of a dragon. However this boss is special considering its more like the image you'd think of when you hear the word Dragon.
This dungeon as a whole feels under appreciated. I feel like its largely in part of the set up process for this dungeon being ridiculously long (At least as I remember it)
Just came to this video now after playing TP like 5 years ago for the last time, because oddly enough, I had a dream today about me beating this boss all over again, only that the dragon was quite larger and...the fight was inspired by the Ganondorf's fight in Skyward Sword in which there is a surrounding storm that you take advantage of by charging your master sword with the lightning to strike your opponent. Yes, it was a good dream. I guess I feel like playing Zelda games again. That is literally all. Hahahahah.
Are you a real Zelda player if you don’t find clawing onto the back of an intelligent dragon that learned from its mistakes like no other boss before and cutting loose onto its back and you don’t find that satisfying....
2:30 Link: Looks like I'll have to latch onto his tail a third time, he has just enough armor left. Argorok: Oh no, we're not doing that again! Skipping to Phase 2!
Anyone notice that when you're on Argorok's back and your stabbing the shit out of him, his wings don't flap, but he's still flying? Also, I'm going to Walmart to get SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY in twenty minutes!
Screw challenges. That's what Dark Souls is for. This game was epic and challenging games like Dark Souls will always fail to achieve such a great level of epicness due to the focus on the challenge itself.
It's sad the bosses in Twilight Princess weren't that hard. Then again, maybe that's the case with other Zelda games as well (The Lynels in BotW were harder than the battle with Ganon). It's my favorite game but that's one of few things it was lacking in.
Ikr idk but it was kinda fun. That boss fight have me such a rush of adrenaline that I literally felt myself go into fight or flight mode. Its been a while since playing due to my GC poofing but if I played it again I'd probably do a lil better than my first playthrough
Damn imagine this fight with the hang glider. More attack sequences, with you actually having to dodge it as it takes diving swipes at you with its claws. Faster paced
Fighting this boss as a kid: "I'M USING GRAPPLING HOOKS TO CLIMB INTO THE SKY AND DODGE A DRAGON'S FIRE BREATH?! HOLY CRAP THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME THING EVER!!!!" Fighting this boss as an adult: "C'mon, do something."

what is this toon link slander? that man was on a revenge quest to save his sister and he went so far as to claim the legendary master sword for himself just to save his sister. eventually his character growth comes to him realizing he has more to do than save his sister he has to murder that evil BIRD that kidnapped her in the first place and eventually get rid of ganon to make this world a decent one for his sister and grandma and everyone else he loves and cares for. toon link is best link sorry fam twilight princess takes solid second tho 🙂👍
City in the Sky was such an annoying dungeon, I'm honestly glad it had one of the easier bosses. After all that headache, we don't need some tough-as-nails mechanically-intense showdown. We just need a big cinematic showpiece, stabbing a dragon in a thunderstorm. TY Argorok for saving so many players' patience with the game.
First time I played this game and fought this thing I was blown away at the fact that "Holy shit this is a straight up wyvern not a cartoon version but a full on wyvern type shit."
That scene where the dragon rises and dies is very similar to that of Smaug in the Hobbit movie. Did they maybe use this scene from it? Or did the book describe it that way? They look so similar!!

Oh, and Argorok comes back in Warriors.

TARINunit9 agreed, this boss was lack-lustre and non threatening.
I may not have played Twilight Princess, but I can say that Argorok is my personal favourite boss and personally best dragon of the whole franchise.
Funny fact I was so obsessed with the Zora armor that I used it since the moment I got it. When I battled this boss I got hit and I lost 8 hearts 😅
Well that explains why I couldnt land the last hit on this boss 🙃

My first Zelda, my first love. TP will always be my favorite.
If Nintendo would release the Zelda HD Remakes on the switch, the would make an instant $120 from me and many others
they need to make one with this same art style, that would be cool
WHy say hd. Wouldnt it be hd by default if it was Remade now.
Because that’s literally the name they gave the wiiU versions
Twilight Princess HD
And
Wind Waker HD
@@adambrooks822 isnt that because they are remasters?

GameCube/WiiU maxxing ftw
Botw +tp dungeons, story, and characters wouldda been the best!
Jacob Judy very much agree! BotW‘s gameplay is amazing while TP‘s overall storyline is epic

And music
And MM story.
And MM sidequest
This absolutely makes me mad how they didnt include the clawshot in BOTW
There’s something about the music that really fits the theme of the weather.
Wait why is this the morpheel battle theme?
This was by far my favorite boss fight in the game. Link fighting a dragon, how awesome is that?
Right?

I had a save file copy just to replay this fight over and over. Never felt that so much for a temple boss
Imagine if Link was afraid of heights, this would suck for him
I like to imagine TP Link is deathly scared of heights and has vertigo but he has mastered not looking down
Minish Cap during the sky battle, when he had barely any control.
Then there's no point he had one of the triforce...

TY Argorok for saving so many players' patience with the game.
Nintendo really knows how to make final quest bosses before the real final boss. Link can now say to Zant and Ganon that he slayed a dragon
One of the most epic battles I've ever experienced... another one is the Thunderjaw inside the caulder
they should make it harder in the second phase the lighting should hit link
The one thing Zelda games lack are a back and forth lore/story with the bosses.
using the final blow on argorok is so incredibly satisfying, just the way link backhand-twirl-stabs the sword into the back, wonderful.
