Since the Ten Commandments are foundations for common law worldwide they should be posted and taught in Public Schools. They are not merely the possessions of religions.

Wrong. Reread them. The first several talk of a God not everyone believes in. Teaching them in public schools is foisting religion on children whose parents may be bringing them up in a different religion or with no religion.

@@rabbidanielwolpe4759 You have not answered fully my objection, Rabbi! They are still a historical document that has influenced law, literature, culture, art, music and thus have a place where those subjects are taught. Its value are not merely religious.

@@st.michaelthearchangelorth1055 If you truly believe that Louisiana is posting them for that reason, then you are woefully naive. This is all a part of the right iwing's attempt to turn this country into a Christian nationalist country. I strongly urge you to research Project 2025, of which this is a part.
As for your claim that it is a historical document, when they teach the constitution and the Declaration of Independence in American schools with the same zeal that Oklahoma and Louisiana want the Bible to be taught, then you may have a point.

@@rabbidanielwolpe4759 Rabbi, because someone may misuse something good, that is no reason for another to hide it. Its truth is beyond that which it is subjected to.

I mean YES to "when they teach the constitution and the Declaration of Independence in American schools with the same zeal that Oklahoma and Louisiana want the Bible to be taught, then you may have a point."
