Love it! I have already been accepted by God so I just live freely enjoying Him. How true. For many years I spent time with Christians as I enjoyed their company, but could not believe their God fairy tale. One day I asked God to reveal himself. To my astonishment, He did. It was not melodramatic. But, as I drove to my meeting, the whole place looked different. The colours of the trees and sky were psychedelic . It was incredible. When I met up with the others I told them I believed. I have changed since then. Lost my anxieties and have a higher moral code. I wish everyone could know God, but understand the difficulty. Once known, He is your companion.

"Lost my anxieties and have a higher moral code."...Can you define "moral code" so I know what you are talking about since two people can use the same term, but mean different things? If we consider the evidence presented to us... if we look at another example Julius Cesar we know Julius caesar existed because of coins with his inscription on them and through his writings Cesar's Gallic wars written sometime between 58BC and 50BC earliest copy we have dates from AD900 a gap of 950 years and we have 9/10 copys of Cesar's gallic wars so that's very good evidence that julius Cesar existed according to historians. Now if you compare and contrast with Jesus Christ the predominant writings that we have are obviously the gospels themselves Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and if you take John's Gospel for example it was written down somewhere between AD40 and AD100 the earliest copy we have of a fragment of John's gospel dates back to AD130 a gap of 130 years as opposed to the gap of 950 years of Julius Cesar's gallic wars, the amount of copys we have of the Rylands fragments of John's gospel are 5000 Greek copies, 10,000 copys in Latin and 7,300 in other languages, if you compare the 9 to 10 copies of Julius caesar's gallic wars in comparison to the 22,300 copies of Rylands fragments of the gospel of John alone that we have, which original dates around about AD130 on that evidence you won't find many historians out there who would disagree that a historical person called Jesus Christ existed, so if a historical Jesus existed what do we do with him? because he made some pretty outrageous claims he said he was the son of God, and he said he was the messiah which was the claim that got him crucified, so we are left to make a decision with Jesus, was he mad or bad or Lord? If we decide he was mad theres a problem because one of Jesus enemy's a man named Josephus in his writings he wrote around the same time he mentioned that Jesus was doing some miraculous things, being a enemy why would he say that unless it was true? If someone's mad you would normally just disregard them, if we decide he was bad its hard to reconcile with what we read in the bible because Jesus showed extraordinary love and grace and patience towards people, you could its said just come to the conclusion that he was a great prophet or a very wise man, but Jesus never claimed to be that he claimed to be the son of God, he claimed to be the messiah or last of all you could come to the conclusion I have and thousands and millions of people around the world have come to and still come to today and that is that he is God and we should listen to him and trust him.

@johnduggan1406 There is an abundance of rational evidence for Christianity. Books: The Reason for God by Tim Keller, The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel, Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. The last two books were written by men who were skeptical of Christianity until they investigated the evidence. But all the evidence in the world will not convince someone who has a closed mind.

    • @CloudiVist
      @CloudiVist 10 месяцев назад +1

What is faith if it isn't belief without evidence? The religious mind is the one that is closed precisely because it is based on irrational belief, not on testable evidence. What you are suggesting is that the evidence for Christianity is so compelling that only those with a closed mind could disregard it. The academic pursuit of rational validation for Christianity is nothing but a search for a comfort blanket that will allow irrational religious beliefs to co-exist with the rational side of your brain that you rely on in everyday life. In another part of the world a Muslin or Hindu or Sikh person is probably making the same argument for their religion as you are right now for yours. The Christian, the Hindu, the Sikh, and the Jewish concepts of God are not compatible. They cannot all be right. The arrogantly righteous devotees of each of those faiths will of course claim theirs is the true and correct religion. If the evidence for Christianity was compelling to all but the closed mind, then Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, and Jews would realize the error of their ways and would be converting to Christianity in their millions. That doesn't appear to be happening. If you are Christian, it is likely because that is the culturally dominant religion in the part of the world you were raised. If you were raised in India or Pakistan, you would likely be Hindu, Sikh, or Muslim. @@godwinmanuel6963

@@gregson6 You are conflating knowledge with belief. Not the same thing at all. As an academic, he needs to be rational and insist on testable evidence. As a believer, he must attach himself to the resurrection, the virgin birth (if he's Catholic), an intervening God who performs miracles, and a long laundry list of other unprovable nonsense. He is trying to apply his exceptional rational academic mind to support irrational religious beliefs. I wouldn't wish that kind of cognitive dissonance on anyone. If you'll pardon a religious reference, that must be hell for a mind like his. He and the others are just trying to whitewash religious belief with a veneer of science as if to suggest, 'Look! We applied the scientific method to an examination of Christianity and it suggests Christianity is 'true.' I'm not suggesting he's doing it cynically. I'm sure he genuinely believes what he believes. That's one of the most insidious things about childhood religious indoctrination. It becomes ingrained as part of the person's identity and is difficult to shake off.

Salvation through "Faith in Jesus Christ" is not a reward for the Righteous, it is a gift to the guilty, for we have all fallen short of the Glory of God. Faith in Christ and the Salvation that results are both gifts from God. God bless everybody in finding the truth. Jesus is truly God the Son.

Modern Quantum Physics has shown that reality is based on probability:

A statistical impossibility is defined as “a probability that is so low as to not be worthy of mentioning. Sometimes it is quoted as 1/10^50 although the cutoff is inherently arbitrary. Although not truly impossible the probability is low enough so as to not bear mention in a Rational, Reasonable argument." The probability of finding one particular atom out of all of the atoms in the universe has been estimated to be 1/10^80. The probability of just one (1) functional 150 amino acid protein chain forming by chance is 1/10^164. It has been calculated that the probability of DNA forming by chance is 1/10^119,000. The probability of random chance protein-protein linkages in a cell is 1/10^79,000,000,000. Based on just these three cellular components, it would be far more Rational and Reasonable to conclude that the cell was not formed by un-directed random natural processes. Note: Abiogenesis Hypothesis posits that un-directed random natural processes, i.e. random chance formation, of molecules led to living organisms. Natural selection has no effect on individual atoms and molecules on the micro scale in a prebiotic environment. (*For reference, peptides/proteins can vary in size from 3 amino acid chains to 34,000 amino acid chains. Some scientists consider 300-400 amino acid protein chains to be the average size. There are 42,000,000 protein molecules in just one (1) simple cell, each protein requiring precise assembly. There are approx. 30,000,000,000,000 cells in the human body.)
Of all the physical laws and constants, just the Cosmological Constant alone is tuned to a level of 1/10^120; not to mention the fine-tuning of the Mass-Energy distribution of early universe which is 1/10^10^123. Therefore, in the fine-tuning argument, it would be more Rational and Reasonable to conclude that the multi-verse is not the correct answer. On the other hand, it has been scientifically proven numerous times that Consciousness does indeed collapse the wave function to cause information waves of probability/potentiality to become particle/matter with 1/1 probability. A rational and reasonable person could therefore conclude that the answer is consciousness.
A "Miracle" is considered to be an event with a probability of occurrence of 1/10^6. Abiogenesis, RNA World Hypothesis, and Multiverse would all far, far, far exceed any "Miracle". Yet, these extremely irrational and unreasonable hypotheses are what some of the world’s top scientists ‘must’ believe in because of a prior commitment to a strictly arbitrary, subjective, biased, narrow, limiting, materialistic ideology / worldview.

Every idea, number, concept, thought, theory, mathematical equation, abstraction, qualia, etc. existing within and expressed by anyone is "Immaterial" or "Non-material". The very idea or concept of "Materialism" is an immaterial entity and by it's own definition does not exist. Modern science seems to be stuck in archaic, subjective, biased, incomplete ideologies that have inadequately attempted to define the "nature of reality" or the "reality of nature" for millennia. A Paradigm Shift in ‘Science’ is needed for humanity to advance. A major part of this Science Paradigm Shift would be the formal acknowledgment by the scientific community of the existence of "Immaterial" or "Non-material" entities as verified and confirmed by observation of the universe and discoveries in Quantum Physics.)

@@allstarwatt7246 I'm not doing the homework for you here but I've read and listened to enough to understand science and believe are ONE. Just like matter and spirit/mind (or being conscience) is one. Metaphysics is not mere bullsh*t.
And the "religions" don't claim anything. Of course some religious people really belief earth is 5000 years old. But I and millions others do not. You have extrenists on both sides, also on the scientific side that treat science like a God. Expectations we have from the word science fail. Science doesn't cover ALL reality, it just understands and reveals some tiny facts SLOWLY. Nazi-Germany was THE scientific country but did it live up to truth, to reality?
Like I said, not doing homework for you but I recommend Sam Harris, Jordan Peterson's interviews with experts in scientific fields (e.g. Richard Dawkins) and psychedellics. Also consider that the classical old scientists all were believers mostly in the Abrahamic God - yes, that doesn't make that God exist but it shows you that believe let them to insights in nature. It's the same just like monastery structures - with monks being spiritual - were the base of universities and modern city structures = so the "mundane" but also scientific growth originates in belief; the simplest example to push you toward understanding that belief/spiritality and science ARE squared, might me that scientists work with hypothesis (a little belief)and if they're lucky the results BACK UP (validate) their hypothesis.
Finally, I do believe in Genesis but don't think it's 100% litteral and I can square it with theory of evolution (which by the way isn't fully reliable, it's not THE finite explanation, like microevolution is nothing but ideas, as far as I know, and STILL nobody knows how life started).
If we think atheist, still the bible is a book and you should read it, just as you (everyone) should read many more books to understand the human condition, the psyche, the universe, life. The belief in our modern minds that there's this GAP between science/our brain and spirituality/religion came with the rise of industrial revolution (and nihilism). But if you investigate the origins of sciences: They WERE connected with and ORIGINATED from spiritual, believing people and if we finally get this, we will appreciate nature, fellow people, knowledge/wisdom much more and the planet could be a much better place.
P.S.: Actually I DID some of the homework now.

    7) Mighty God by Prophet Isaiah (9:6)
    8) Everlasting Father by Prophet Isaiah (9:6)
    __________________________________________________________________________________________
As The Prophet, he would be in submission to his Father and speak
all the words that God would command him.
He mentioned this Truth to the Jews in John 5...
    John 5:39,40; 45-47)
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
    John 7:15-17)
And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

As The Messiah he was to bind up the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, preach good tidings
    to the meek...
    Luke 4:16-21)
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue
on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book,
he found the place where it was written,
    The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;
he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight
to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were
in the synagogue were fastened on him.
And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

As The Good Shepherd he sought for the lost sheep of the House of Israel FIRST
    Matthew 10:5-6)
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city
of the Samaritans enter ye not:
But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
    Matthew 15:22-28)
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me,
O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
    But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away;
    for she crieth after us.
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt.
And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
    John 10:11-18)
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming,
and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
    And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice;
and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power
to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

    Journal entry 1/27/2016
Just as perplexing as the notion of something out of nothing is the idea that an all-perfect God could have any unfulfilled desires. This concept of desire in an all-perfect, self-contained godhead has always puzzled me. On the one hand, you have God enjoying his blissful perfection, in need of nothing and, on the other hand, that same blissfully perfect God suddenly gets a creative urge, knowing that if he acts on that urge he will be opening Pandora's Box, a box filled with so much horror and suffering any sane entity would recoil at the thought. And yet, we are asked to believe this omniscient, all-loving godhead opens Pandora's Box anyway when nothing is compelling him to do so. When absolutely nothing is forcing him to abandon his state of bliss, in which there is no evil, no suffering, and no eternal torment, nothing compelling him to end that blisful state to create a nightmare. Is it possible for a godhead to become bored with his perfection? That is a question easily overlooked in the stampede of drama that pours out of the bible from the very first chapter. Again, I ask, what could compel a blissfully perfect, loving god to disturb his eternal bliss to create a place of eternal torment for creatures who never needed to exist? This idea is a hole in the creation story big enough to drive a Mack truck through, and yet Christian drama addicts pretend they don't see it.

There are many who refuse Christianity because of how they’re required to live their lives, by God’s Holy standards. They simply do not want to.
Then there are those who claim to be Christian but pick and choose which of God’s standards they will follow. They’re considered false Christians.
To be a true Christian is to follow Christ’s example as closely as possible despite our imperfections. It’s not easy to do this in a world that hates what you stand for. It’s not easy to love your neighbour and your enemy when they do not feel the same way about you.
Remember, Jesus said… “ If they hate you, remember, they hated me first”.
This is why only a few are walking on the narrow road while the majority walk in the spacious road.
It’s ok though, because the righteous and the meek will inherit Gods kingdom. All others will perish.
So turn to God and follow Christ before the judgement arrives.

I admire Dr Lennox and he has taught me much. I say the below in the gentlest way I can out of love for the man.
His explanation is missing the very important focus on what good works does to you AFTER you have received Christ. Dr. Lennox is 100% though that good works are NOT meriting salvation, but they ARE sanctifying you.
Justification - Being made righteous in front of God through the atonement (the Lamb of God) offered by our high priest Jesus or 'salvation' or receiving our inheritance as children of God.
Sanctification is the maintenance of the inheritance and growing in grace, holiness and removal of sin in our lives, by being faithful to DO (work) the will of the Father.
Matthew 7:21 KJV - 21 Not every one that saith unto me Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
We cannot merely profess by words and then remain passive the rest of our lives. We MUST do what we can to preach the Gospel and sin no more.

I don't understand why most people call Christianity a religion. I have met God, Jesus and Holy Spirit and there has never been any talk about Christianity being a religion. When I asked God who created the religions He replied satan. It is easy to see why satan did it: "to keep people in bondage to all kinds of weird rituals". Jesus calls born again Christians his friends. John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

As in ancient times, our life and the world is full of mysteries, but at times we amuse ourselves with stories.
A bit of contribution to mythology...
Multiple Gods or gods make more stable and happy supreme divine beings than a single God or god alone.
From history, we should note that the Israelites before becoming monotheists were previously polytheists.
For those who like myths we may speculate one. The word creator when referred to the universe is a human defined concept. Many people also attrubute this creator to God which is also defined by humans.
No actual manifestation or substantial proof have yet been found of God or gods. However, let us dive a bit into speculation of how religious beliefs may have been formed.
Let us speculate a hypothesis of how certain civilizations prefer polytheistic religions over monotheistic religions. “What is the advantage of having many gods over a single god?”
Fundamentally, having many gods increases the chances of survival of the first humans and other living things. Supposing a god is not eternal and is not the creator of living things, but a planter of living things, woudn’t it make more sense to have more gods than a single god put the first living things on earth and let these living things survive and thrive?
How Life and Diversity of Humans Started
Since each god had not brought exactly the same type of essence of life (or seeds as analogy) then some diversity in physical features and culture would have been expected. Thus, we have dark skin humans, brown skin humans, short humans, tall humans, black hair humans, blond hair humans, etc.
The narrated myth suitably addresses some concerns about why diversities exist in the physical traits and religions of human beings.

My beloved mother - gone at 46 when I was 20. I studied religions of the world at college. After talking to the professor, I was given an A for the course.
For many years forward, I lived life not by faith but by my own reasoning (which in my youthful mind seemed the only way one could logically live). However, even though I was not comfortable attending church, I did so on occasion when visiting my dad. Privately I didn't believe or trust in any god......
I left the door open to the idea that God existed, however. And from my heart, I asked for god to show me! Yes the god that was not real or trustworthy in my youthful mind.
I am a very thankful old guy now. Also I am so amazed that God answered my youthful request to show me!!
I am a common man with really little status or accomplishments. Yet God made himself known to me!
Awesome! Praise be to my sweet Lord and Savior God.

@@lylereinhardt9135 So God "made himself known to you" but not billions of other people. And not to kids dying of bone cancer and many other slike them..
