Der dezent exzentrische Mann, der mit bürgerlichem Namen Connan Tent Hosford heißt, verzückt seit geraumer Zeit das weltweite Indie-Publikum. Zu Beginn seiner Musikerkarriere gründet Connan, der aus einer kleinen neuseeländischen Küstenstadt kommt, die Band Connan and the Mockasins, die sich dem Blues-Pop verschreibt. 2007 startet er schließlich seine Solokarriere.
Zunächst versucht er sein Glück auf den Straßen Londons. Die Songs, die seit dieser Zeit entstehen, nehmen zunehmend psychedelische Klänge an und finden immer mehr Fans. Schritt für Schritt spielt sich der eher zurückhaltende Connan nach oben.
Von einer Zusammenarbeit mit Fatboy Slim über eine Tour an der Seite von Charlotte Gainsbourg bis hin zum Supporting Act von Radiohead hat der Exot mittlerweile alles erreicht und genießt höchsten Respekt beim Publikum wie bei den Kritikern. Ende 2013 veröffentlicht Connan Mockasin sein zweites Album, welches den Titel „Caramel“ trägt - ein wahres Popjuwel.

Their music are so lethargic....very dry....
it’s authentic and you can tell they have fun with what they are playing not auto tune and soundtracks
Completely disagree you have to have you’re own tastes to enjoy what they do.
