That’s a surprisingly flattering comment
eMoTiOnAl DaMaGe
Jesus Christ died for our sins, rose from the dead, and gives salvation to everyone who has faith in him. True faith in Jesus will have you bear good fruit and *drastically* change for the better! Those led by the Holy Spirit do not abide in wickedness.
*God is ONE manifesting himself as THREE;* the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit! Bless him! *For these three are one.*
As I am led by the Holy Spirit, nothing I state is a lie, but the truth of God. Anyone who tells you differently is misinformed or a liar. They do not know God, nor led by him.
Anyone who *claims* to be a Christian and is against what I am doing, and where I am doing it; the Holy Spirit does not dwell within them, they lack understanding. They know not God, read his word, and their religion is in vain. Do not hear them, they will mislead you, the lost cannot guide the lost.
@@MonkeyJedi99 I am a Christian, and I had to report these comments. They're cult-ish, insensitive, and awful. I would like to apologize for the fact that they used that term.
@@TotallyHuman I was going to let them go, as I usually do with silly or offensive stuff, but this account has been spamming like mad, and I finally had enough.
While I appreciate your apology, and accept it in the spirit with which it was given, I would also like to say that it is not your responsibility.
Unless it is? Hmm???? (kidding)

Ah yes, the time where you showcase your so called "talent" that is actually just a forced guitar lesson, or the time where your grades are revealed.
Imagine visiting your family and not working 25 hours a day.
"What key is that? F minus" is a highly underappreciated pun.
Of course, Steven's Dad always plays in E Motional Damage.

As a musician I can guarantee you that playing an instrument in front of family is probably the most emotional damage you could EVER do to someone
ik same here cause they make me play for anyone and everyone when i have an instrument on me.
Other than playing music, they enjoy parading their kids "skills. "
Most emotional damage was asking me to do an oratorical piece in front of the family while they are having lunch 😂😂😂
I suppose that sometimes they bring that couple of family friends that have a beautiful son/daughter of your same age to double the damage!
Oh my gosh, every time a family member comes over, my parents make me play something on my violin! It's the worst, especially when I've just started learning a piece!
As an Asian and musician, I can confirm that there is always another asian half your age can play 10x better than you.

Can I just say, that the unfreezing the chicken part is very effective and relatable. My parents didn't show up early but when I would freak the hell out. I remember having to quickly unfreeze ground turkey meat and opened the package, put the meat in the bag and microwaved it. I used the excuse of "I threw a knife into the sink and it cut the package."
Just run it under hot water for a few minutes would work
HAHAHA putting it into the microwave never worked for me
My technique is that I do it the moment they close their door on their way out.
At least you don't have to have the whole meal cooked and served by the time everyone is ready to eat which could be anytime within 2 hours of the average...
Unfreezing meat takes ages though even if you just let it sit outside for a while. We'd just put it on a plate to catch the juices and move it from the freezer to the fridge the evening before.
Bam, problem solved

I relate to all, but the last one hits on a different level. When performing a piano piece to the fellow Asian relatives I should remember from when I was a baby, some basic roasts include ‘not being musical enough,’ ‘playing for too long,’ not playing Fur Elise, or them simply sighing and then proceeding to scroll on their phone. 🤠

The counter solution/attack to this weapon is "NOT GIVING A SHIT" and directly but politely saying "NO" at first and sticking aggssively to it. It's effective if you can establish your worth or prove that you are more knowledgeable than them most of the time, at most of the things.

Poor kids. Saw this at a provincial music festival my son was in. He was in the top 8. He was the only non Asian there. So, the first girl went up, trying so hard, she was literally crying on stage. She sounded beautiful but I don't think her mother was happy because she didn't win. My son didn't win either but I'm very proud of him. He was blown away by how good everyone was. Sounded incredible. And the day before we were in a hotel room before the concert, I really thought that one girl was playing her violin for at least 5 hours straight practicing.

Im half Asian, but my father was white and he got full custody. Somehow I still got the full asian experience, the frozen chicken, the music example happened after I learned a second instrument,
But white parents are also very strict and can cause emotional damage
@@dreamfire9661 I'm sure some of them can be, but you can definitely tell it's not the norm to beat your kids here or "abuse" them in any way. In America and Europe there are laws that protect children from that kind of thing, you touch a hair on a child's head and social services or CPS will be called so quickly, whereas Asians-well in my experience Chinese parents anyway, they whoop you and it's just part of the culture, part of raising you to be 'proper', our parents will just say "it's for your own good / it's bc we care". A very large percentage of us were raised that way and it's not really weird to most of us.
Whereas here you know it's very unheard of bc if it happens, the person is very traumatized by it and it's an extremely huge deal, and they will either be very reluctant to talk about it, or some of them will make it their whole personality (that they were abused as kids/had a fked up childhood) just to come off as unique or edgy.
It also causes fractures in their family. They will move away from their parents and cut off contact because they wonder how they could harm them as kids in such a horrible hateful way. They'll think their parents were horrible people too.
Being Chinese, like yes it's still "emotional and mental damage" lol, but like it's almost no different from like falling off a swing when you were a kid. You kind of just unconsciously accept it as normal, and yeah you joke about it like that.

yeah that was a true story with piano.
That's how they get you. "I spent all this money to buy expensive instrument, why do you let it gather dust? Don't waste money"
I have a Chinese friend. She told me she brought har aunt a tin of biscuits for christmas, she wrapped the tin up nicely. . The following Christmas she got the same tin of biscuits back just as carefully wrapped.
Steven getting punished is very relatable and somehow funny at the same time.
steven's dad is so powerful that even wearing slippers he sends shockwaves through the house just casually walking
Bro I’m not even Asian and I felt the EMOTIONAL DAMAGE of this video
Either 15 minutes….
Or 5 days..😂
I’m dying
"If your family is Asian, then they will also join the roast"
So damn true.
That is the same with Mexican families 😂
@@Serenity113 true pain brother
Caribbean families start the roast and your parents join in.
now I'm convinced parents of all cultures secretly have a yearly meeting on how to punish their kids lol
Slavs approve of this statement.
could be possible since my cousins, me and my siblings gets punished the same way everytime
they make us kneel on knees on top of rice while we have our palms up being smacked by a spatula
@@aljearomercado6806 they have a yearly punishment digest book. with punishments of the month, and articles like how to keep your punishments fresh this spring, check out the hot new punishments that all the parents are raving about. 😂

@@aljearomercado6806 oh i once experienced beans or seedlings...i forgot whats its english term but we called it mongos. Not my parents did tho. It was my first grade teacher.
All the awkward standing positions they were in are hysterical and the guitar scene lol relatable
The comedic timing in this video.... just GOLD!
As a fellow Asian, this series pretty much sums up my entire childhood
Welcome to your therapy class
@@StevenHe thank you for making this exist in the first place because it's wonderfully cathartic and perfectly relatable
@@StevenHe Thank you for the heart I actually feel appreciated unlike how I felt during my childhood ❤
I'm not even Asian, and I'm middle-aged, but hearing a car door slam still sets off my PTSD.
I look forward to these!! They make me laugh so hard! Raised in a strict Italian home, then being a parent myself, this is epic!! I’m so glad you add the bloopers at the end. I can’t even imagine how many takes it took to keep a straight face!
The camera shake is just too good! 😂😂😂
